Knowing his partner liked to see him in better clothing, dressed up, he’d asked Melody to help him add more clothing to his closet - new colors and styles. Aloysius knew they’d gone out together, as he’d told his partner earlier and left him with Desiree.
The surprise of food, of dessert, was the cause of his smile as he offered a plate to Melody with a fork and a tart on the plate. “Tea, coffee, expresso what would you like to drink?”

Following Liam inside, Melody helped offload the last few bags of things that were his since she’d left all her new clothing in the car. There really wasn’t a point bringing them inside just to bring them back out later when she left. “You really have been getting the hang of dressing up, what caused the change of heart anyway? It almost seemed like you thought a tie might choke you when we first met.” Smiling just a bit as she sat at the kitchen table, she rested her chin on her palm as she looked over her glasses at Liam rummaging around in the fridge.
Her curiosity was forgotten as she saw a gorgeous tart being offered to her, it looked tropical instead of the standard type so she was all for trying it out even if sweets weren’t as much her thing as they were her brother’s. “Oh this looks good and just water for now since it’s so hot outside. I’m going to take a nice shower when I get home to stop feeling sticky from all this humidity.” It was gross but the tart was nice and chilled, helping cool her down a bit as she took a bite with some starfruit in it.

“It still might, mostly because I’ll mess up when trying to tie it, but it helps the family more and Aloysius.” And he was all about helping the small family he’d chosen for himself. He wasn’t about to tell her the other reason, she really did not need to know about that.
“It seems he ordered some dessert for me and I don’t mind sharing. He knows I enjoy fruit tarts and recently found a bakery which makes amazing fruit tarts.” And they used all sorts of fruits, and combinations, so he got to try all different flavors. It allowed him to explore a bit with them, which he enjoyed, he was all for exploring and trying new flavors and foods. Taking his own tart from the fridge, and placing it on a plate, he grabbed a fork and decided to join Melody at the table after grabbing her a glass of water and a small bottle of juice for himself.

"Well, that's a good way to think about things. I know it's worked out well when I bring you along to those charity dinners and social events. I do believe that you being there on his behalf has been helping me keep his recluse behaviour a bit more understandable." After all it was easier to believe when there was a first hand account from their partner about their hectic schedule and efforts on their own public volunteering.
Nodding as she ate her way through the tart, it was much better than she expected. It wasn't sickeningly sweet and had a bit of acidity to it from what she could guess was a bit of pineapple and some other fruits mixed into it. Everything was cut into cute little star shapes because of the festival so it was a bit hard to tell what some of the fruits were. "They're cute and taste wonderful, he made a good choice on the bakery it seems."
Taking the glass from them, she sipped at the ice cold water and sighed in content at how cooling it was. She wasn't feeling as flushed from the heat and humidity anymore between the water and the tart. "I don't really do well in this heat, it's almost as bad as how I manage the cold." There just wasn't any winning it seemed and she wondered, in part, how her brother survived being dressed in so many layers year round.

"I've been working on trying to get him to come with us to an event, something small to start with." Which would help, he was certain, to secure what he'd been telling people - not that he was lying. Aloysius was a very busy perso nwho burnt both ends of the candle. That was something Liam was working on...he needed the other with a bit more free time to himself.
"I agree." Working some more of the tart into his mouth. "The place is really good, I'll give you the address later if you want." Because it was a wonderful place, the tarts and other fruit deserts as well, and deserved to see some more buisness. "The cuteness helps I suppose, at least since it's showing it's support of the star festival. "I don't mind some heat but today is rather bad - it's too warm and humid out." He, like Melldy, didn't like the cold but it wasn't for the same reason. He didn't suffer from the cold nearly as much as she did, and he did feel bad for her.
"Have you started stocking up on more sweaters for when the cold weather comes?" Another bite of tart before he took a sip of his own juice and polished off the tart in the next two bites, it really was good.

"That'll be a miracle if you get that to happen. It'll be good for everyone though." It made things easier in some ways but she wasn't sure how they'd react to being back in the public eye. Setting her fork down now that she was done with the small tart, she drank a bit more water and smiled. "I think it's a good marketing idea for businesses, taking advantage of events the city is running to drum up business and attention to their products." She'd done the same during the holidays at the music shop by adding sheet music for carols or little decorations around the shop as well. It worked out, she had the numbers to support it, but the fact that her brother was picking things back up had been doing more than she'd been able to manage on her own for the past few years. "I have some new sweater dresses and coats, I even found some nice wool stockings to wear with the new boots I got for the winter. Unlike my brother, I have more than five outfits to wear." Teasing just a bit as she leaned back and stretched, she really hoped the winter would be milder than summer was so far.

"I think I can swing it, though I think he'd prefer something small and maybe charity related. It would also play into what we've told people about him being busy, a charity event would explain him coming out. If it's something music, or arts, related it would fit even better." Thinking how it might work and look best for them, plus what Aloysius might enjoy the most. If his fiance had to go out to an event it should be one he'd enjoy, one that was worth his time and wouldn't bore him to death or stress him. ""If there are any such events coming up I'll bring that up to him...or is we could create such an event?" It would, he figured, look good for them if they hosted some sort of event for the arts and had Aloysius there for the event.
Melody was clearly rubbing off on him, she'd been doing well in teaching him.
"Mmm, on that matter perhaps we should take the down time, before next summer, to come up with some items the store can sell as well? Something to fit the theme but also musical? I know you sell sheet music in the winter, of the typical Christmas carols, that only makes sense. But do we have ornamits perhaps? Little violins and other things? If not perhaps we can work on some ideas...a more traditional, Hallmark style, Christmas tree with decorations on it to show what we have to offer." Already thinking of how to help with bringing in money and buisness, to make the busness relevant to the holidays as much as possible. He was an accountant after all and he did want them making money - more than they already did if he could help it.
"I think I can come up with some ideas....including one we might want to reach out to Italy for...some artisans there. We can host their works, money goes to them, we can even mention the pieces as being artisan crafted in Italy and support them." It would also tie into the Italian roots of the family.
Looking up from his cleared plat, considering another tart, he stared for a moment at Melldy before pointing at her face. "Ummm...stars....you have stars - on your face. You have stars like freckles."

"With our family being such as it is, that could be something we could look into either by participating or by starting an event up.... especially once I have the Evans family backing me as well." Smiling a bit to herself, she thought of that future she was guaranteed. It would be worth the wait and she very much looked forward to it.
It was nice seeing the blonde come up with useful ideas for once, more so than her useless brother. Anything outside of making the instruments and keeping family ties was pretty much a lost cause when she tried getting help from him. Nodding at some of the ideas, she could see how they would do pretty well during the wintertime. "I think that could work, a small tree would be something I could have the clerk watch and maybe decorate, she might like that. You could maybe convince my brother to make a few things for it. I'm pretty sure grandfather taught him how to do that while teaching him how to carve in general." It wasn't something she'd been around for but she'd seen roughly carved things in one of the boxes when she'd been looking for sheet music to grab before her mother took her away.
"Hrm?" Blinking as she touched her face, she didn't feel anything wrong. So she decided to pull out her compact from her purse to take a look. "Oh... that's... odd?" By the time she looked up, Liam had them too and she burst out laughing. "You have them too! Does that mean we are what we eat? I think I like this bakery even more."

"I think it would be nice. If you've seen the ribbons people use on their trees...we could make our own - but with sheet music. We could sell that as well as wood instraments." Letting the clerk help in decorate, and a small tree, would be good. He wasn't sure how things would be made, or by whom, but he was also sure the money they'd make would justify spending the money on the items being produced. Especially if they went to selling things online and used social media as free advertizing in order to help generate intrest.
Reaching over to take her mirror, to borrow it, he couldn't help but laugh at the sight of himself. "It would seem so." He couldn't help but agree with her, this was amusing. This wasn't all that bad, he didn't feel any different, and he was certain this was the cities usual magic acting up again.
"What do you say to a trip to Italy? Venitian masks...I've seen some online, sold online by artisans, with music on them. We could bring some back and include the artisans, their shops, and promote small Italian buinesses - it would tie into the family heritage as well. I think it might do well....and a trip to Italy as well...to broker deals." Something he thought might appeal to Melody.
"Once the stars on your face, and mine, vanish of course." Whenever that would be. "I think Aloysius might even like the idea. But it might just give a very nice flare ot things...something to stand out." He really was thinking here, trying to tie things together, to help as many as possible financially and appeal to a market that just might like something so unique and artistic.
"Moving to grab another tart from the fridge, because who cared if he had stars on his face, he set it down between himself and Melody. "Half for each of us - a few more stars won't do any harm I figure." And she could either love or hate his ideas for the holidays.
