The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.

It wasn’t a very big establishment but it was quite unique since the two story restaurant had a second floor balcony that they used for terrace dining and Quinn was able to get one of the last tables reserved. The whole town was making use of the influx of people who were coming to see the meteor shower so he really was quite lucky. That and the tip he gave the hostess likely didn’t hurt any.
He waited for her by the entrance since it was still a work day, they both would be coming from their respective jobs. Normally he would pick her up but when he offered he was informed that meeting there made the most sense so that's what he did. The man stood there with a few flowers, since any good date needed flowers, listening to the soft guitar music that was playing. Something vaguely Spanish if he guessed right, which made sense since the restaurant served Spanish-American food. Quinn watched as people passed by, absently notting the various star charms that pedestrians had. They got handed out like candy for the festival. He had several from years past. There were several colors but the little amber one that he spotted looked rather cute, what with its knot work and everything. Very festive.

Surprisingly, Anna actually had time to change before heading out to the date that was planned today. Making sure that everything was in order, Anna did a twirl in the mirror, admiring her form in the knitted dress. Of course there was a cute underskirt that kept all her goods from hanging out and she wore one of those fancy bras that were just the cups to make sure the girls stayed in place and out of sight [she wasn't trying to flash anyone], once everything checked out, she closed the store for the day and drove to the little spot using the directions Quinn gave her. After parking, she took time to admire the cute restaurant before spotting a head full of familiar blonde locks.
It didn't take her long to make her way up to Quinn, big smile on her face. Of course he would have flowers, just some more to add to the growing collection in her office and home, something her employees never failed to tease her about. Honestly she was tickled pink usually but had to maintain that professional boss behavior, despite the fact that she wanted to just squeal like a schoolgirl. This was her first Star Festival and judging from how people looked and the cute charms, she had a feeling this would be her favorite.
Giving the man before her a quick kiss on the lips, she happily took the flowers, “Well hello there Authur Quinn, fancy meeting you here~”

Quinn grinned when he saw Anna striding towards him, there was a little flare of jealousy at the thought of her wearing such an outfit while at work but he squashed that as best he could by the time the woman in question arrived before him. “I’m sorry Miss but these are for my girlfriend.” He teased her and held the flowers away for a moment before acting shocked, “Anna? Sorry I thought a goddess had arrived.” The man passed her the flowers and returned her kiss, aware that they were in public. “You look fantastic Annalise,” He said quietly in her ear before pecking her on the cheek and pulling away to offer her his arm.
“Let's take our seats before some other handsome man comes and sweeps you off your feet.” Quinn guided her to the hostess stand and they both followed the young woman to their terrace seats. Menus were provided and waters poured. Between the rapidly dimming daylight, the candle light, and the lanterns strewn here and there, their view would be perfect when the meteor shower actually started. For now though it just made the atmosphere romantic.

Anna happily took Quinn’s arm, giving him a sassy grin. “Oh? I think I see one coming right up, we best hurry, I think he wants to propose.” giggle escaped her before she could stop it, smiling at the hostess and following along to their seats. Brown eyes looked around to take in the view with awe twinkling. The sights, sounds, people…It was so amazing. Her gaze moved to one of the lanterns with the thought that she would want one of those to take home or maybe she could make a custom one? That would be a nice project to do for herself…
She was really excited to see this meteor shower, her gaze going back to the man across the table from her. “So, how was work today? It was rather slow at the shop, which makes sense considering the festival going on right now.” It was slow enough that she managed to send her employees home early to enjoy themselves. Of course their remaining hours would be paid.

“Oh I won’t give you up that easily,” He waggled his eyebrows at her even as he tightened his hold on her arm just slightly as they continued on their way. Glad that they were not alone because he wanted to tease her more, but priority ment he needed to keep his hands to himself.
Quinn was glancing over the menu when Anna asked how his day went. Sadly he didn’t have a funny anecdote or the like. “Nothing too exciting,” He shrugged and amused himself by seeing how close he could get his menu to her fingers before she reacted. Quinn would much prefer to just take her hand or run his fingers over the back of her hand but they hadn’t even ordered yet. Any public teasing would have to wait until after their orders. Besides, he needed to keep everything PG since they definitely weren’t alone on the terrace. Granted, if the other tables were anything to go by, their date wasn’t the only one that night. “Most of the departments tried to keep things light at least here in the city because of the festival. But there were still the other branches and the normal meetings that were going on. Basically ‘same old stuff, different day.’ Did you at least get any designs drafted? The festival is good for that,” at least, he mentally added.
He just hoped nothing too strange would happen in the city this year. Granted last year wasn’t too bad, but no one would argue that s**t didn’t go weird around festivals or the like. “Oh! Look!” He pointed to a streak of light crossing the rapidly darkening sky. The chatter around them proved that he wasn’t alone in spotting the meteor. The first light was quickly followed by more, each burning its way across the sky.

“I did get some designs finished, mostly the ones that were a bit quicker to do. Projects that require a hard to get gemstone or some form of custom metal usually take a bit longer. I did manage to get once custom order finished ahead of time. Took me around….6 months? The original time frame was about a year so this was perfect since the couple was due to get married this fall.” Her fingers lifted to trap the menu underneath them, throwing a small knowing smirk while she continued, “I do have some drafts that I want to show you next time you stop by~”
Maybe he could get something for his father next? She didn't want to ask about it but it was something she was curious about. Whether Quinn was closer to his mother or father, what he did in his spare time when he wasn't around her…Or what his son was like! She especially wanted to know how he felt about being a sudden father. Not that she was judging or anything, just a curiosity.
Anna’s attention was drawn to where Quinn had pointed, eyes widening slightly in wonder at the streak of light passing through. She's never seen a “shooting star” before and it wasn't just one, there were others that started as well. “It's beautiful~” The streaking stars in the sky became a source of inspiration for some new drafts she would draw up later. Maybe she would design something for herself or….She looked to the man sitting across from her, almost thoughtful for a brief moment.
Maybe something for Quinn would be better.
But would she have it finished before Valentines? That remained to be seen.
