Quote:
Prompt 1: The group has split up; while a large number of people remain in the storage wing, you have decided to help clear out some of the smaller rooms. Things are packed more securely here, and while there are some oddities on display, for the most part everything is secured in an array of wooden, stone, or metal boxes of varying security. You may see a strange item here or there, or something that catches your eye. There is an undeniably weird hum of energy in the room but Almadel has trusted you to behave.

While you must stay in the area, you can investigate anything. You can PM The Space Cauldron or DM xigglet on Discord if you want to check anything before posting; you can also ask if you can interact with anything or gain extra information about something your character is involved in. It is possible to find an artifact or relic that is some way important or relevant to your character but you must have permission. If you are interested in finding something, please be prepared to give a physical description and any relevant lore; we can work things out with you.

As you investigate, you hear a strange noise. Roll a 1d4 to locate it.

If you roll 1 it is coming from an air vent
If you roll a 2 it is coming from a storage box
If you roll a 3 it is coming from the wall
If you roll a 4 it is coming from under the floor

You can decide how to get to them; you may be fortunate and find a loose tile but you may have to break something to reach them (at player choice). Just remember that Almadel wants his museum in the best condition possible…

Prompt 2: You have located the sound–Kosopods, ranging from six inches to two feet wide. They are hard shelled isopods with many legs and prickly tails. They can be nearly any neutral color, it just depends on what they have been eating. They will immediately try to scatter. Roll 1d4 to determine how many Kosopods you have located; you can decide their size.

Prompt 3: The Kosopods immediately attack. They are frantic and hungry; they can spit acid that causes agitation and eventually burns through things and they have many sharp legs and sharp points on their shells. They can bite. Their shells are very hard and they can only be damaged by flipping them over to expose their delicate underbelly or possibly by overwhelming them with magic. They cannot be starseeded. They are vulnerable to fire but it might not be a good idea to start setting things ablaze if you want to stay on Almadel’s good side. Roll 1d4 to determine how many Kosopods you have defeated; if you roll lower than the last prompt, you will need to roll again until you defeat them all or hope that your allies rolled high enough to take out some of yours as well. If you roll a higher number here than you did in prompt 2, you can help your allies.

Prompt 4: Once the Kosopods have been defeated, you can take a moment to breathe. It sounds like things have calmed down outside in the large room that you arrived in. You can look around the area if you like (and if you sent anything in to find or examine, you can identify it now. It may be possible to steal small items from Almadel if you have sent in for approval). This post can be considered an exit or you can continue roleplaying until you are ready to leave. You can rejoin the closing post of the ORP when it is announced! This should be on Friday the 30th. While you do not need to have this RP finished at the time of the close, please try to close this RP promptly! You must write 500 words in this RP to be eligible for the prize!

Arseno didn’t care much for fighting the bugs that they would be encountering in this alien’s… museum, if that’s what it could be called. If it was a museum one would have thought that they would have allowed more visitors, however it seemed to be a private one, which meant that Almadel had something to hide, even if he didn’t say it.

Arseno had slipped away from all of the chaos in the main room as the others were fighting the Kosopods and found himself in a die room. There were a few boxes, but it appeared empty for the most part, which was puzzling. One would have thought that the alien would have… more. Perhaps Almadel had just put away everything for the inevitable fight so that they would not get covered with whatever came from the bugs, but that would imply that the alien knew that there would be a problem with them and yet allowed them to infest his “museum” still.

Almadel certainly wasn’t being truthful with them in Arseno’s eyes and he had every right to agree with Queen Laurelite that they should be more focused on gathering possible information than agreeing to deal with the mess.

As he took a look inside one of the partially-opened boxes, finding nothing in it, he heard a noise that didn’t sound like it was coming from the disaster of a fight that was happening elsewhere. It sounded like bugs skittering across a surface, but what surface would that have been? He couldn’t see them coming through the vent, the noise wasn’t that high, and the boxes, however open, didn’t appear to have any either.

He moved around the room for a bit in an attempt to find out where the noise came from when he felt a vibration in his boots that only lasted for a second, but was enough to give him the warning that they would be coming soon, and from right under his feet.

He jumped back and saw that acid had started to eat through the flooring and 3 Kosopods jumped out from the floor and immediately started to go all around the room, his if they were both confused but knew what they were doing at the same time.

Arseno sighed as he pulled out his weapon, if he could just get to their undersides then they would be easily dealt with. And the first one decided to prove that theory as it jumped towards him and Arseno swiped at it from underneath. The bug landed almost in two pieces on the ground. The other Kosopods had decided that now was a good time to attack as well, however Arsno easily dodged their spit attacks, kicking one of them and swinging again, and repeating the same actions with the last one.

The Kosopods lay dead on the floor and Arseno made a disgusted face at the remains though it couldn’t be seen from underneath his mask. Just because he was a doctor didn’t mean that gross things were no longer gross, especially when it came to bugs. He dismissed his weapon and knowing that there wasn’t anything worthwhile to find within the room, made his way back outside, hoping that the excitement had settled down and they could return to Earth.
