Firework Flowers (13) : A rare and unique breed of flowers that blossom into long, stiff-stamened, spherical orbs like those of the blossoming Powder-Puff flowers are on full display in Destiny City. A unique hybrid of several species, these plants were being engineered at a small landscaping company. While they were only meant to exist in their private greenhouse as they continued development, a simple accident resulted in thousands of seeds spreading across Destiny City. Thankfully, the Firework Flower is a beautiful, albeit temporary addition. The stems grow rapidly and look like tall blades of grass until the week before the flower blooms; the bulb is hardy and opens overnight to reveal the beautiful firework flower, which can be found in almost any color. However, unlike normal Powder-Puff flowers, when these flowers are jostled they explode in a burst of colors. Whether it is a simple touch or a strong breeze, these ‘Firework Flowers’ seem to burn up from the center of the flower outwards. It creates a beautiful display of light–especially at night. Scientists describe it as a harmless chemical reaction and encourage everyone to appreciate the flowers while they are here. The dust from an explosion can carry on the wind and will glow for a few hours after the reaction. The explosion cannot harm anyone and poses no danger to anyone. Things had been…weird…the past week or so. Between the shenanigans that came with this year’s Star Festival celebrations and the strange developments in various personal relationships–romantic or otherwise–it was getting easier and easier to find excuses to not be at home at night unless she was ready to crawl into bed and go to sleep.
Sometimes it was easier to just not think, that’s all.
So tonight her excuse was that she needed to get some fresh air. Sure, it was hot air, but it was still fresher outside, in the park, than inside her apartment. Besides, even with the AC unit on blast, the inside of her apartment still felt stuffy as all hell. Or maybe that was just how it felt because her mood just hadn’t been the greatest.
And because it was nighttime, she had opted to wander about in her powered form, because there was something else out in the city this year that she had a feeling would do wonders for her mood. Granted the last time she touched one–you know, for science–it singed her gloves horribly, but the small display of lights was well worth the trouble. At least to her.
So Ekstrom walked purposefully through a random park, eyes peeled and hopeful that she’d run into at least one of those pretty, dazzling little flowers. So far all she'd managed to find was yet another one of those charms, which she gingerly picked up and pocketed before moving right along.

Rhea was just patrolling as she normally would, though tonight she was alone, because no one was able to patrol with her tonight, but she was restless and so she couldn't just sit at home. If she did her mind would surely wonder and honestly her thoughts kept circling back to a certain someone, which she was trying not to swoon for any more than she currently was. Rhea sighed as she walked through the park frowning and pulling at the ruffled collar at around her throat that was just far too hot for. She frowned so deeply feeling the sweat clinging to her. She pulled her coat off and tied it around her waist reveling in the sleeveless leotard that was her told, even if it attached to the damn ruffle collar. The outfit was best for spring and summer and the milder temperatures on her moon.

It was hard to pinpoint exactly when she sensed the aura, as she was a little too caught up in her search, but when she did she couldn’t ignore it and almost immediately stalked off in its direction. With any luck she would find a flower–maybe even two if she was extra lucky–along the way.
So she might have looked a little silly as she went. Every few steps she would look up to see if the powered person was visible, and then after another step or two she was looking back at the ground. She’d probably look like a convincing chicken if she had the appropriate costume on. At the very least it took her mind off her personal troubles…
Eventually, though, the page spotted the powered person in question. Abandoning her efforts to find the flower for the moment–because while she could multitask like the best of them, three tasks at once was a bit taxing–she called out while still several feet away, “Evening!” in hopes that she wouldn’t surprise them like she’d done once before already. She still felt horrible about that.

Even distracted as she was, she did notice the aura of the other, it was hard not to when it seemed to be headed toward her. She wasnt worried or bother though because the aura was that of order so it wasnt like they were trying to attack her. She gave a friendly wave when the girl came into view, a night and in an outfit no cooler than her own. "Hi," she called, "braving the heat too?" She grinning because this unpaid job was an all seasons thing and why could their clothes change to reflect that. It was be so nice if they had seasonal upgrades or downgrades. She wished, but that wasn't the way of things. "Im Rhea," she said when she finally reached the other young woman.

The returned greeting got a chuckle out of her, and she nodded with a little smile. “Duty calls, or something,” came her response. Even though tonight it was just a means to distract herself, she did usually take her duties very seriously.
“Ekstrom, nice to meet you.”
Now that she was a bit closer, she understood the comment made about braving the heat. The senshi had some kind of coat wrapped around her waist, and she blinked at it a moment before quickly following suit. It helped, however little, and she draped it over an arm and sighed. “There has to be a better way to deal with the different seasons when we power up.”

Leah gave a chuckle and nodded, "yes thats definitely the way to put this." It was definitely a Id rather being doing anything else, but here we are statement. She grinned at the night when she introduced herself as well and sighed in agreement. "Its nice to meet you too and I fully agree, though I guess it doesnt make sense where my moon is concerned ... the weather there is almost always mild. This jacket is plently good for any chiller days, no jacket for any warmer days, but generally I dont notice any discomfort at all." She wiped her brow and frowning in the humid summer air, "earth however .... damn 4 seasons." "I digress though. You've seen nothing off in that direction and Ive seen nothing off back where Ive gone, so maybe I'll try east then? Maybe?"

Ekstrom smiled, glad to see that Rhea found her little joke at least a little bit amusing.
“Your place sounds pretty nice. Mercury’s just a freezer. I guess if the power’s running on my wonder I can’t see why they couldn’t have had heaters on around the place before,” she said with a little shrug. “But my uniform’s practical for it now. I agree though–damn these four seasons. Or at least, damn summer.”
She loved summer, actually. It’s always lively and bright and just generally has a more upbeat vibe about it, but if there was one aspect about it that she would change if she could, it would definitely be the weather.
The page gave a shake of her head when Rhea was confirming her lack of findings. “Nothing, no one. Not even those cool flowers that burst when even so much as touch them.” She both looked and sounded sad about that fact. “East is as good a direction as any, sure. I was actually just going in whatever direction, looking for those flowers.”
After a beat, she added, “While patrolling, of course.”

Rhea chuckled and nodded, damn summer was definitely the consensus for this heat. She was glad to hear the other woman hadn't run into anything or anyone the way she came which meant it was quiet that way and she hoped it would remain as such. "It seems like a quiet night overall, I'm doubting I will run into anyone, but you never know." She gave a thoughtful look and realized, "I think I know what you're talking about. I passed some when I was headed that way. I could show you, if you like. I mean its pretty quiet and anyway." She turned looking back where she came from and trying to remember just how far back they were. "Not too terrible far, just out of sight there," she pointed.

The page cheered up some when the prospect of finding those flowers suddenly became a positive one, and without a second thought she nodded at the senshi’s offer to take her to the ones she’d seen along the way.
“Yes, please!” she said through a hopeful smile, turning to look in the direction Rhea was pointing in before quickly rummaging through her subspace. “Lucky. I wonder if it’s one of those ‘you won’t find any if you’re looking for them’ kinds of things.” Not that it really mattered now that Rhea was helping her find them.
With a huge grin, she soon produced a small, metal plant pot. “Never know, right? Lead the way!”
