Super Sailor Rhea of Laughter

Rhea shut the door behind her and leaned back against it briefly frowning while her pounding heart struggled to return to its normal rhythm with the adrenaline pumping through her veins. After a moment she moved away from the door intent on looking for something to fight with. It honestly didn't matter, anything would have done, but something sharp was probably best. She sighed moving a box to the side before pausing because she heard a noise. She looked around and the darkness before pulling out her senshi phone hoping to illuminate the area a bit better.

"Hello .... is someone else in here," she called out barely above a whisper, though it would be obvious she was there because of the glow from her phone.

She moved closer to the sound walking into something, and nearly tripping.

"Dammit, this place is a mess," she growled in looking for the flashlight on her phone.

Quote:
Prompt 1: The group has split up; while a large number of people remain in the storage wing, you have decided to help clear out some of the smaller rooms. Things are packed more securely here, and while there are some oddities on display, for the most part everything is secured in an array of wooden, stone, or metal boxes of varying security. You may see a strange item here or there, or something that catches your eye. There is an undeniably weird hum of energy in the room but Almadel has trusted you to behave.

While you must stay in the area, you can investigate anything. You can PM The Space Cauldron or DM xigglet on Discord if you want to check anything before posting; you can also ask if you can interact with anything or gain extra information about something your character is involved in. It is possible to find an artifact or relic that is some way important or relevant to your character but you must have permission. If you are interested in finding something, please be prepared to give a physical description and any relevant lore; we can work things out with you.

As you investigate, you hear a strange noise. Roll a 1d4 to locate it.
If you roll 1 it is coming from an air vent
If you roll a 2 it is coming from a storage box
If you roll a 3 it is coming from the wall
If you roll a 4 it is coming from under the floor

You can decide how to get to them; you may be fortunate and find a loose tile but you may have to break something to reach them (at player choice). Just remember that Almadel wants his museum in the best condition possible…

Quote:
Prompt 2: You have located the sound–Kosopods, ranging from six inches to two feet wide. They are hard shelled isopods with many legs and prickly tails. They can be nearly any neutral color, it just depends on what they have been eating. They will immediately try to scatter. Roll 1d4 to determine how many Kosopods you have located; you can decide their size.

Quote:
Prompt 3: The Kosopods immediately attack. They are frantic and hungry; they can spit acid that causes agitation and eventually burns through things and they have many sharp legs and sharp points on their shells. They can bite. Their shells are very hard and they can only be damaged by flipping them over to expose their delicate underbelly or possibly by overwhelming them with magic. They cannot be starseeded. They are vulnerable to fire but it might not be a good idea to start setting things ablaze if you want to stay on Almadel’s good side. Roll 1d4 to determine how many Kosopods you have defeated; if you roll lower than the last prompt, you will need to roll again until you defeat them all or hope that your allies rolled high enough to take out some of yours as well. If you roll a higher number here than you did in prompt 2, you can help your allies.

Quote:
Prompt 4: Once the Kosopods have been defeated, you can take a moment to breathe. It sounds like things have calmed down outside in the large room that you arrived in. You can look around the area if you like (and if you sent anything in to find or examine, you can identify it now. It may be possible to steal small items from Almadel if you have sent in for approval). This post can be considered an exit or you can continue roleplaying until you are ready to leave. You can rejoin the closing post of the ORP when it is announced! This should be on Friday the 30th. While you do not need to have this RP finished at the time of the close, please try to close this RP promptly! You must write 500 words in this RP to be eligible for the prize!

Fluorapatite - Journal

Why was she here? Fluorapatite clenched her jaw, her lips pursing into a thin line as she recalled seeing the White Moon Senshi with periwinkle-colored hair. To avoid an incident with her in such a publically crowded place, she had ducked into a side room once Almadal had informed everyone which places still needed clearing.

There was a familiar dull ache behind her right eye that ran back towards her temple. Similar to the one that gave rise to a later migraine when she tried to think back on memories before she’d come under her General’s care.

The voice in her mind was conflicting, in one whispered breath it suggested she accidentally injure the woman while also cautioning that the Queen’s command to not engage with the opposite faction. With several other Generals, none of which was her own since the a*****e sent her here as his proxy, it was not worth the risk of being reprimanded by any of them for defying Laurelite, even if unintentional.

She pressed the heel of her palm against her right eye and waited for the ache to dissipate before she’d even consider inspecting the air vent where she knew at least some of the Kosopods were hiding.

That is until she heard a timid voice hesitantly ask Is someone else in here?

“Yes,” Fluorapatite replied, something unusual for her to do these days. But the girl sounded scared and reminded her of Jasper’s younger sister. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you,” not unless the command was given. Even then, she’d be hard-pressed to act against someone who looked like a child was not a practice she was interested in participating in.

Rhea

Rhea frowned looking up to see a corrupt standing in just a short ways away from her. She gave the woman a cautious look, but nodded, "you're not the purple people eater and we've got more troubles right now ... at least we're away from giant bus of a bug."

She sighed, brushing her hands over her ruffled skirt, she moved closer to the other senshi, but frowned hearing a scratching. Or was it scurrying.

She looked to the walls and then spun hearing more of the sound, "Do you here that?"

She moved closer the the wall, moving aside some items, papers and such, she wasn't sure. She knocked on the wall and heard more scurrying and then sizzling making her jump back.

"Shhiiiiitttttt," she said looking to the other senshi, "the wall is melting!"

Fluorapatite hadn't had the opportunity to respond to the Senshi's question before they suddenly jumped away from the wall as if it had burned her and hissed out a swear word that stunned Fluora into a stupor. Wide honey-colored eyes looked at her with an owlish expression and it was then that Fluorapatite realized her mistake. The voice she had attributed to a young girl actually belonged to a young woman.

But in the dimly lit room, anyone would be hard-pressed to find fault in her mistake. It only meant that Fluora had been perhaps a bit too dismissive of her reluctant companion and didn’t see her as much of a threat as she probably should have.

In the next second, she heard the skittering above her stop and a different, more concerning noise shift directly above her. With agile grace Fluorapatite dodged out of the way just in time for a tile to drop from the ceiling above where she had been standing, and along with it came another kosopod; this one a bit larger than the other four but not by much.

In total, there were five of them skittering across the floor towards the two of them.

The White Moon Senshi’s safety was less of a concern than her own but still she gave the young woman a fair warning, “Cover your eyes!” Stepping forward with one foot, Fluora rubbed her hands together forming a ball of static between them, then reached out with one hand toward the kosopod that nearly landed on her.

“Chainging static shock!”

An arch of static lept from her hand towards the largest creature and jumped to the next nearest one that emerged from the wall and then to the one behind it. The light from her magic was bright, illuminating almost everything but it disappeared just as quickly. Hopefully, that left the last two blinded if not dazed. If they can’t see where they are going then that should give the two of them an advantage.
