Today was hot and Eliza wanted to have a decent swim, but she definitely didnt want to drive into the city and so she decided to take the path up the stream until she came to the waterfall further down that ended in a natural swimming hole. It was nice partially shaded spot that not a lot knew about. She knew of course because it was just outside of her property lines and she discovered with Willie when they were children. She knew she didnt want to walk, it wouldnt be hard, but it was fast when she went with Odyssey, so she readied her horse, forgoing the saddle and headed out with her. Currently she resting while her horse drank from the stream, rubbing her shoulders and letting her do her own thing. It was hot and Eliza didnt want to overwork Ody, she'd only stop her if she tried to go into the water before they got to the waterfall, knowing both of them would enjoy it more. tatterpixie Sorry for the wait, shes by of stream off a path out in the rurals

This was an off day for Peregrine at DC Downs, the horse racing center on the edge of the city, so he was helping out at the boarding stable he lived at, grooming and working with the resident horses. Some of them got ridden on the regular, while others needed to be ridden to keep them exercised and in good shape. Chickpea, a pale strawberry roan mare, was one of the horses that required attention, so the young jockey saddled her up with a nice comfy western saddle and a hackamore and took her out for a nice trail ride. Perrie knew the perfect trail, too – there was one that followed a nearby stream up to a swimming hole that had been carved out by a waterfall. It was a pretty ride, and peaceful, and most importantly on a hot day like today, cool for both horse and rider. Clucking Chickpea into a trot, they headed toward the head of the path. It was indeed a pleasant, pretty ride, with the surrounding trees providing some shelter from the heat of the day. Before too long though, Chickpea nodded her head and whickered; this told Peregrine that there might be someone else on the trail. Which was fine, if unexpected. He slowed his mount to a walk, and sure enough, there were another horse and rider on the path, enjoying the cool stream. Guiding his horse closer, allowing her to take a drink, he smiled at the rider, a young blonde woman. "Hi! Nice day for a stop by the stream, isn't it?"

Eliza heard them before she saw them, so she was startled when another came up beside her on a beautiful house with a coloring far different than Ody's black, grey and white dappled coat. Eliza smiled and nodded, "yes, I've just stopped so Odyssey here can have a drink. We're actually headed further down to the waterfall." Eliza didn't recognize the other or the horse from any of the farms in the area, but she'd lived in the city all through high school and college and was only just now back on her farm full time, so she figured maybe she'd missed some new neighbors. "I'm Eliza, I'm from the Satchlynn farm, further that way," she said gesturing in the direction she'd come. "I have seen you around before ... have you just moved around here? Your horse is quite lovely." She couldn't remember any land for sale either, but one never knew.

Perrie dismounted and let the reins hang loose on Chickpea's neck. "I work at the boarding stable up the other direction," he grinned, "the one that's run by Mrs Gallagher. But I'm usually down at the race track. I'm Perrie Diver – I kind of grew up at the stable. And the race track." He didn't recognize Eliza either, but that didn't matter to the friendly young man. "Nice to meet you, Eliza. I'm kinda headed for the waterfall too. Too hot today for much else," he said with a laugh. "I was just out exercising Chickpea here and figured I could cool us both off. She's not mine, she belongs to someone else, but thank you! I'll pass that along to her owner!" Giving Odyssey a practiced once-over, he nodded. "Your horse is lovely too. I've always had a fondness for greys." Chickpea, who had finished drinking, tossed her head. Reaching for the reins so she didn't wander off, Perrie patted the roan on the neck and cooed at her. "I know, I know, you wanna get going." He turned back to Eliza. "Mind if we ride with you? We can keep each other company that way!"

Eliza nodded remembering the stable, she hadnt ever been but she did know that it was close enough. This was however the first time she'd seen anyone from the stable, not that it was a bad thing. She smiled at Perrie and rubbed Ody's long neck before hugging her. "Odyssey is my special girl. She the first horse that was just more me. I love her so much and she loves me too. Ive had her since she was just about a year old." She was 10 years old now, Eliza having gotten her when she was 8. Ody seemed to be done drinking and splashing at the water a bit, so she looked to Pierre and nodded, "yes. I think that would be nice. Let's get to the waterfall before Ody here decided the stream is a better option. Come on girl." She guided her horse away from the water and Pierre a grin, "Off we go, yes?"
