Quote:
The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.

Lacaille was out and about as she had been most of this festival powered up, she had pretty much only powered down to go on that spooky kayak ride which she considered a big mistake on her part. She shivered thinking about it. She looked up and the sky and saw the hints of color streaking across the sky. She looked down on the ground and spotted a crimson star charm she decided to pocket. She was hoping she could collect the whole set this year. She hadn't managed it last year. She sat down on the grassy hill and just started to watch the meteor shower that was clearly affected by the magic that was this time of year.

So many things were rainbow this time of year, she didn't know why and she really didn't care either she just enjoyed that it was pretty. The whole city decorated and the magic fitting the theme. It was really nice. Lacaille was alone at the moment and she didn't think anyone would disturb her drifting thoughts. She was going to be disappointed though since getting a peaceful evening in Destiny city was like finding a unicorn, not going to happen. Well until the magic of this weird city made a unicorn that tired to attack people.

Festivals were often the best time to take advantage of the influx of people out late while the weather was nice and warm. For the most part, Meridiana didn’t often encounter trouble when trying to fulfill her quotas; work smarter, not harder was the mantra she lived by, and she employed methods not typically used by other agents or corrupts.

This evening was no exception.

In one hand she held an energy orb nearly the size of a grapefruit. Larger than what she would collect if she used her magic and would satisfy her quota for the next week or so, maybe. In her other hand, she held onto a sapphire star charm, a small gift from someone who commented that it was the color of her eyes.

A kind gesture even if she did not agree with their intended compliment.

Both objects, for now, were carefully stowed away in her subspace pocket as she considered whether she wanted to return home or find an open place to watch the meteor shower for a while. “I can spare a few moments. After all, this only happens once a year,” she decided before teleporting to a familiar open area where she could view the meteor shower unobstructed by city lights. However, upon arrival, she soon realized that perhaps going home might have been the better choice.

There, not even twenty feet away was a senshi with pale hair and rainbow bangs. “I don’t suppose you plan on leaving soon?” Meridiana asked from a distance.

Meridiana is using her medallion so her signature feels like a basic corrupt even though she's super.

Lacaille felt an energy all the sudden that didn't seem to be a very strong energy, she likely wouldn't have panicked even if the energy was on the same level as hers, she didn't normally jump to the consulting that someone was going to attack her unless they gave her reason. Faction didn't always mean someone to attack right off the bat. "You can have as much time as you like, unless you intend to attack me." Lacaille called back to the person talking to her. "I would think there is enough space on this hill that I shouldn't have to leave, unless I make you that uncomfortable that a whole hill isn't enough space to keep us from attacking one another." She hadn't gotten up yet. Lacaille was a pretty peaceful senshi but she would defend herself if she needed too. Her magic reflected her kind nature since it really didn't hurt anyone.

She looked up at the sky she didn't want to be chased off from watching this pretty scene. Still, if the nega forced her hand she would do something. She couldn't help but wonder what the chances were that they would teleport onto the hill that Lacaille had decided to sit and watch the meteor shower. Then again the chances of a lot of things seemed really strange. After all this city full of magic what were the chances of that? Lacaille couldn't begin to figure that out.

For several moments Meridiana said nothing as she moved across the grass with even steps towards the pale-haired senshi. It was a cautious approach, her gaze skimming over the tree line for movement since the breeze outside was not strong enough to cause any drastic shift in the silhouette or shadows.

“Uncomforable?” Her head canted to the side in consideration but settled on the idea that she was not at all disturbed by the White Moon’s presence. Even if she didn’t realize it yet, the two of them were of the same rank, but that didn’t mean Meridiana wasn’t without her advantages.

“No, you don’t make me uncomfortable,” she replied with a smile that did not reach her eyes. “But that does not mean I trust that you’re here alone either.” Another senshi hidden in the treeline perhaps, one with a medallion like her own masking their signature. Or perhaps they weren’t powered up yet and were waiting for an opportunity to strike when her defenses were down.

“Who are you and who are you waiting for?” She asked almost coyly while keeping in mind that should things turn dire, she’d need to teleport away for her own safety.

Waste not want not Meridiana thought to herself as she almost got within range to use her magic. It wouldn’t hurt the young woman, not really anyway. Just a small kiss on the cheek and an energy donation for the Negaverse. At worst these might feel a little bit tired but hopefully it’d be enough for her to just decide to go away.

It had been a long while since she actively patrolled in this manner. This would be good practice, or at least she hoped so since this kind of situation was what Zinkenite’s training had been for.

She looked up and then said "Why would I lie to you?." She asked with a frown confused by this matter the distrust was not odd but it was annoying in this world. "I'm Lacaille senshi of books and I am waiting for no one just enjoying the evening." She said with a frown once more. She got up "If we must fight let us get it done so I can watch the shower."

Meridiana paused in her approach, the fabric of her long dress hung motionless against the tall blades of grass swaying gently in the evening breeze. Her lips curled into an amused smile as she regarded the young woman, her arms folding neatly over her chest while yellow and white lights streaked by overhead.

“Fight?” she asked, “Oh, no, no. You’ve misunderstood me entirely. Fighting would be quite uncivilized, more suited for the brutish sorts.” Meridiana unfolded her arms and held her hands up to show she posed no threat and had no hidden weapon. “I’m here for something far simpler.”

She tilted her head to the side, the faint shimmer of her gold jewelry catching the soft lights from the meteor shower as her smile widened. “If you’re truly alone,” she continued, her tone smooth as silk, “Then surely we can come to some sort of an arrangement.”

Meridiana’s focus remained fixed on the White Moon Senshi. It hardly mattered to her that the young woman had been here first, staking a claim on this secluded overlook. What mattered was that she was here now and this was the perfect vantage point to view the myriad of colors sweeping across the black canvas above them.

The last thing she wanted was to share this space with anyone she did not deem a friend; finding another place was not something Meridiana felt inclined to do.

She nodded and then said "Then let's just pretend we didn't see each other today and let it slide." She said with a nod watching the shower in peace.

Seemed the White Moon senshi had trouble taking a hint. “No, my dear. I don’t think you quite understand…” Meridiana’s magic manifested at her side in the form of a long etherial golden whip that coiled beside her feet. “Look at me…” she purred, swinging the magical weapon above her head she cracked it loudly beside her and blew the pale-haired woman a kiss.

“I want you to leave Her statement was punctuated by the sound of her heels as Meridiana glided toward her. The golden whip had since disappeared and when she was within reach, the Corrupt reached out and brushed the backs of her fingers against the Senshi’s pale skin.

The temptation to steal some energy from her was immeasurable but would ultimately be a waste of time. Plus her quota was already complete, no reason to be an overachiever. Instead ,she teleported the girl far from the lookout area, back within city limits. Any park would have probably sufficed but Meridiana deposited the White Moon Senshi on the DCU campus.

“I suggest not trying to make your way back.” The threat was followed by the revelation that she was not as she had appeared to be. The magic that made her appear to be no more than a basic level senshi had diminished enough to reveal that she was in fact much stronger than she initially let on.

Meridiana didn’t wait for her magic to fade before teleporting herself back to the lookout they had just left.
