Quote: Star Pox (10) : Genetically modified fruits aren’t exactly new but every now and then something seems to be going on with them. This year, it’s star fruit. The entire batch from Destiny City’s largest supplier has a strange side effect; a few minutes after eating one, star-shaped ‘freckles’ will begin to cover the skin. While this has been colloquially dubbed’ star pox’, it appears to be a harmless allergic reaction. The freckles fade after a few hours and pose no actual health risks; they’ve become quite popular across social media. This might be your only chance to experience the strange trend! …Unless sales are good enough to bring them back. Ian had been trying numerous fruits with Sasha, to see what the other liked and didn't like, thus far it seemed there wasn’t a single fruit he didn’t like. Maybe it was the sugars in fruits or something, there had to be a reason why he liked everything so far, even when the flavors were so vastly different. Today Ian had picked up a few star fruits, goose berry, an asian pear, and a few things the other had already had - and loved.
He’d put them in the fruit bowl in the kitchen before heading up to his room to get some work done. Today was, thankfully, a rather relaxed day with not much for him to do and nothing he was doing on the side so he could go about things at his own pace and not worry. Pulling out his phone Ian sent Sasha a text message to let the other know he was back from the grocery store and he had some new fruits for him as well as some of his favorites, the other has claimed as much about the fruits he’d brought home this morning.
Adding in, as a second text message, that he was up in his room working Ian hit send, knowing the other would likely search him out once they arrived home and grabbed something fruity to nibble on. Over time he’d gotten used to the other's presence and sharing his bed with the other, because he wasn’t going to force the lonely Sasha off to a separate bedroom. Ian wasn’t the best with people, he wasn't some social butterfly or anything, but he also didn’t like upsetting people when he didn’t have to - when they didn’t deserve it. So he wasn’t out to hurt the alien…they were new to the planet and needed company and safety and to feel less alone, because they were far from home.
Taking his seat, on the floor, behind his computer Ian started in on what he had to do for the day and waited for the other to return home and join him.

Getting back from Daedalus, Sasha found himself wandering back towards Ian’s home a little slower than normal. He was tired, so very tired, and he couldn’t quite shake the memory of Amel he’d seen up there. It felt like it hadn’t been long since he’d seen them last before he’d been trapped in stasis. But the loss was there again as he knew they weren’t around, they couldn’t be if Ian was.
Feeling his phone buzz, he pulled his sleeves up to grab at it in his pocket and read the messages. It didn’t make him hurry but it also didn’t make him slow down anymore. The offer of something fresh to eat seemed really good after he’d been working so hard to help.
Letting himself in, he made a beeline for the counter and hopped up to sit on it with the bowl of fruit in his lap. Some of them looked new and he recognized the ones that he’d liked the most before standing up on the counter to reach for the back up jar of honey. The sugar would help and he welcomed the sweet taste of everything he ate after all that pollution and poison he’d been subjected to on that planet.
Sending a text to the other just with one word, here, he settled back down with the bowl and honey and ate through it slowly. The green fruit that looked star shaped was new but he liked it once he got over the waxy outside texture. Huddled over the fruit, his eyes were still puffy from where he’d rubbed tears away after things.

Ian had been busy, working, but he’d still heard when Sasha had returned/ Assuming they were down having the fruit, because they really had a thing for sweet fruits, Ian set his work down and headed down to check on the other. Grabbing his phone from his pocket at the text, while half way down the stairs, he laughed.
“I heard you come in.” The house was so silent it was hard to miss the sound of someone coming in, especially when he had the volume on his computer so low because he was working. Stepping into the kitchen, a hand in a pocket, the dark haired male took a moment to look over the hunched form on the kitchen counter. They never seemed interested in using a chair…and he didn’t correct him, assuming it was a cultural thing or something. Sasha was far from home, had lived how long, and been alone…who was he to correct things and make him feel bad.
“Did I do good with the new fruits?” Not having noticed the other's face, as their back was to him, he couldn’t see him properly. But he also noted the bowl not on the table so assumed it was in the others hold.

Nodding as they came down, he didn’t turn around at first as he ate. They were all good and helped him feel a bit better even as he rubbed at his eyes with a hand. Even if it hadn’t been real he still missed seeing Amel on that planet in the fog.
Ian was nice though but he wasn’t sure with how things were. It had been a quiet few weeks since they’d found him and brought him here. Sniffing for a moment, he started eating another of the star fruit. Trying not to think about what he’d seen while helping the other senshi.

“Are you crying?” It was silent enough to hear the sniffling, even as the other ate, stepping closer Ian slowly made his way around the counter in order to meet the others gaze. “Something happened…” He was certain of it, the other looked teary and like they’d had more than a rough night.
“What happened?” Lowering their hand, with the fruit in it, so they could talk and answer his question.

Shaking his head at first, he squirmed a bit to try and eat more of the fruit. Looking down at the bowl in his lap, he frowned a bit more. This wasn’t just a normal thing and they weren’t one that wanted to do space things. Sure he was still hurting from things, still ached all over but that wasn’t their problem to deal with.
“Tired.” Rubbing his face again he kept his head down. If anything he did want to go back to sleep, just as he’d been told to up on that planet. He’d done a lot up there while helping and he was tired still from it all and getting bumped around.
Thumbing one of the holes in the pants he was wearing, he wondered if there was any more of the star shaped fruit. It did help him feel a bit better.

Not buying it, not for one moment, Ian let them have the fruit but instead lifted their head up so he could see their face. “You have been crying, though you do also look tired.” They weren’t lying, he wasn’t sure they’d be any good at lying to be honest, but they also hadn’t told him everything.
“You also have stars all over your face - is that normal?” He didn’t know a thing about aliens, especially Sasha’s kind, and so the stars on the others face might be normal? He hadn’t seen them before but maybe there was something which caused them to happen on occasion for the others kind - he had no way of knowing.
“Why don’t you finish your fruit and tell me why you’re crying, I’ll see if I can help somehow.” Because no one should have reason to cry, not if it was something which could be fixed anyway.

Looking up at them, he blinked in confusion for a moment. “Stars?” Touching his own face he didn’t feel anything so he wasn’t sure if they were just saying that to get him to talk more. He shook his head about the crying again and finished the starfruit he’d been eating before setting the empty fruit bowl back down on the counter and closing the jar of honey back up.
Puffing up his cheeks as he looked down at his hands and saw little stars on them too. He was very confused for a minute and wondered if they’d been because of whatever he’d been exposed to in space. Worrying for a moment he scooted back. “Oh no.” What if it was contagious? They didn’t want to be involved in things and if this was from that… But he wasn’t hurting from that, they didn’t itch either so he was just confused. Pulling up his sleeves, he saw more of the stars dotting his skin even where he had some bruises from where he’d been knocked around and fallen.
“Space… I was in space… fighting.” Maybe they’d know if it was something he’d picked up from there. But he didn’t want them to get sick either.

“And you're bruised.” He stated, taking note of the marks on the others arms as he Sasha was looking at the stars. “Follow me, I think I have something for the bruising up in the bathroom.” He might not go out and fight, so he didn’t get injuries from that, but he did get injured like every other person did.
“Let’s see if we can’t get you sorted out and perhaps a hot soak as well?” He could draw a bath for the other if they wanted, it would likely feel good with the bruises and help to relax things, since they’d been up in space fighting. He would….ask about that, much as space didn’t appeal to him. It was, he knew, important to the other and always would be…it made sense, it should be important to them. Just as if he went somewhere else, if Earth were destroyed, this planet would remain important to him as well as what was lost.
“Tell me about the fighting? You got hurt…and you were crying. Something happened and it’s bothered you.”

Hesitating for a bit more, he finally decided to hop back down off the counter and follow the other up the stairs to the bathroom. Looking at his face in the mirror, he saw all the stars and poked at them while staring. They didn’t hurt or itch, if anything they didn’t have any feeling to them like his normal spots did. They… were the same color as one of the fruits he was eating though and that had him wondering.
Without much thought, he pulled off the hoodie and shirt he’d been wearing to see if there were more stars. He couldn’t see his back but there were a few stars on his chest and stomach, not as many as were on his face and arms. The bigger bruise on his side from someone’s elbow was darker than the stars but it didn’t really bother him as he looked at things.
Remembering that Ian was in there too, he tensed up and went to pull at least his shirt back on. Shaking his head about the crying again, he was adamant that things were fine. “I’m okay.” Looking over them again, he could see little things that reminded him of the person he’d seen in the fog and it hurt. It was a topic he’d stopped really being up after the first night here because it didn’t make sense in a way. So he decided to divert to the other part of the question even if maybe some of that hurt was still on his face and in his posturing.
“Poison monster, big.” Stretching his arms out to try and give form to the thought of how much larger the thing had looked. “Saved Daedalus.” Nodded firmly he was glad to see someone’s planet saved and it had given him ideas for his own homeworld. Places he might root out the chaos so he could start fixing things. The people were gone, that was something he knew he couldn’t fix, but he was hoping at least some of the plants and creatures might return. If he could make something of things again it would be nice, something to honor who had been lost.
Deciding to sit on the edge of the bath, he rolled up the overly long pant legs and saw a couple stars on his shins. “Stars like the fruit?” Tilting his head as he looked up at them and brushed a hand over his antennae. There hadn’t been any on them but it was still a habit of his to brush over them to make sure nothing was stuck in them.

“Poison monster….” The big part he figured was to be expected, monsters were big…that’s simply how it went. It also was assumed because chaos, of some sort, and magic were involved. “Daedalus…another senshi? Like you saved him…or the planet?” He questioned staring at the other through the mirror.
Finally he pushed off the door frame and went to get the bruise cream as well as bending over the tub so he could start the water running for the other to take a bath. Looking up, from where he was bent over next to them, Ian nodded his head. “I think so. Before bed I can see if anyone is online talking about it, I’m certain if something is going on that someone is talking about it.” Again…how did no one outside of this city see such posts and chats going on? It had to be magic of some sort…because he was sure the Negaverse didn’t care to cover this sort of thing up.
Righting himself he reached up to touch the others antennae. “Are you able to move them on your own or no?”

Nodding again as he started to smile. “Both senshi and planet.” Very proud of himself at the outcome even if things had gone a bit roughly. Rubbing his hands together, he still needed to go and see about going back to his home and trying to look for the source of things. It would take time, he knew there was a lot of ground to cover but he needed to start somewhere.
So it wasn’t something from space, maybe just odd fruit. That made things a bit better but when they went to touch his antennae he reached up and grabbed their hand roughly to stop them. “No touch.” Furrowing his eyebrows they sort of twitched a bit but otherwise stayed still. They were sensitive to touch and he didn't really want someone other than Amel or himself touching them. Frowning for a moment as he looked at them and their hand for a moment, he let go carefully.
“Sorry.” He didn’t want to hurt them or startle them since they were helping him out so much but he was still trying to figure things out. Picking out all the similarities and differences between who they were and who they are now had been making things a bit hard but he couldn’t help it. Especially after seeing what he saw on Daedalus. Huffing, he fumbled with the edge of his shirt, wrapping his hands in it and stretching the fabric a bit. “Saw Amel… in the fog.” Quieter than normal, he frowned more and felt like crying again.

“It’s ok, I shouldn’t be reaching to touch, even if I am curious about how they work.” Normally the other wasn’t one to be so firm about things, unlike just now, but it didn’t bother Ian because he had been in the wrong if he thought about it.
“Amel….that’s what you’ve called me - who I was…or who I descended from…” Because he wasn’t sure which was the case, he hadn’t spent enough time there to know for certain. But he did assume he was reborn now because of Sasha, who saw Amel when looking at him. He had to look the same, or very similar, for the other to be calling him by that name.
“You two were close….I’m sorry you lost him and he didn’t remain up on Chaldene trapped, like you, so you could both be here together.” Even if it meant he wouldn’t be here…he didn’t see his words as morbid, as some might, even though he knew what they implied. He wasn’t mean, or sarcastic, with his words - he meant them. He did feel for the other…to have lost someone they cared for and were obviously close to. “Let me know if the waters too hot or if you need it warmer.”

Sasha made a nose and scrunched his face up, he didn’t like hearing what they were saying. It couldn’t be a both situation, it was one or the other but it wasn’t his place to say things would’ve been better otherwise. “He’s gone, dunno when…” And he had no way to know what had happened or if things would still be the same after all this time anyway. “You’re here though, still good.” Because they were still kind, still trying to take care of them even if it might not be for the same reason anymore.
“Lost everyone, not just him.” He was still bitter about it though, he’d tried to warn them but they hadn’t listened to him when it mattered most. Maybe that’s why he’d gotten trapped where nobody could get to him, something his world had done to try and make sure there was a way forward. He had some ideas, but nothing really concrete as he figured things out. Dipping fingers into the water, it felt nice and warm without being too hot.
Shifting again, he pulled the shirt off again and put it on the floor before standing and getting out of the too-long jeans after fumbling with the belt. It was the only way he was able to keep them on but it was still a bit of a pain to figure out. After that, he got in the bath and looked over at them, it was a bit awkward still for him now that he was figuring things out but he didn’t mind the company. “Not the same but still nice.” The rest he might figure out at some point if they would take him back to Chaldene. They might not know the way but he still wanted to look and see what had happened.
Poking their face he puffed his cheeks up again. “Ian not Amel but still good… still cute.” Looking away again he slouched into the water up to his nose and scrubbed at his face, trying to get some of the lingering dust and pollution off him even if he knew it was already gone. It almost felt like there was a film over him and it was gross.

“So I’ve heard, space seems to be rather dead. I don’t think any senshi has people living on their worlds…” So many lives had to have been lost…but to what? To have so many die, and not be replaced, to where the worlds were dead…something big had to have happened. Something widespread and catastrophic. “I know I’m here but I’m not him, and you miss him.” He answered seating himself on the floor in front of the tub, and Sasha, and stared up at the other as they were seated on the edge of the tub.
“You know, I can take you out for your own clothing, so the pants at least fit you better.” Observing just how big they were on the other, while trying not to notice other things, it was a bit difficult to be fair. But Ian wasn’t surprised like he’d been the first time but he was surprised when the other spoke again. “Cute? I don’t think anyones called me that…” And he did seem to think about it as he spoke, thinking if he’d ever heard someone call him cute. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard much about my looks actually…” He wasn’t even sure if he’d call himself cute really.
Reaching over he poked the other on the forehead gently. “Now I’m sure there was something between you and Amel, even if it was one sided. I suppose it makes sense then…missing him and me not being him…but looking enough like him.” Turning to find shampoo and conditioner, he kept them in the cabinet under the sink, he offered them over to the other. They were scented nicely, though that was not why he used them, they worked well on his hair and kept it soft and kept it from being too flat and looking limp and greasy.
“Try this in your hair. I think we should do some shopping tomorrow…I have time. You need supplies of your own, things just for you.” Like hair products that would work best for him 0 for his hair.
