Orfeo was excited to see what the festival would bring. He was normally simply an attendee, so being behind a booth as an artisan was change of pace that he was looking forward to. Orfeo had spent the preceding weeks and months building up some stock specifically for the spring festival. First his table, then the table cloth, stakes for a shade to protect his paper goods, and then setting up the patchwork tent over the top. Once that was done, he started laying out the shallow, wide rectangular baskets that would hold the various loose papers, pinned with a painted river rock for a little security in case of breeze, laid out the small-medium sized books in the middle, a few neat rows of thinner, hand-sized books/booklets, and set up the trio of more custom work behind those. He futzed and fiddled with placement of things on display or the organization of the selection of extra stock he had brought along (just in case of wind, weather, or bustling sales). When he caught himself fidgeting with placement and orientation of the small painted smooth stone paper weights, Orfeo shook his head and threw his hands up. No, no! He had to quit fussing! Everything looked fine!
Making sure the patchwork fabric shade for his table was secure, Orfeo flipped his sign to 'open' and settled in behind his table. Earthbound Books was open for festival business!
