When the fight on Fang had finished and everybody was either circling around the world's senshi, or collecting back into groups, checking one another for wounds of one sorts of another, Halle noted that Lisse stayed with his group of friends. It definitely wasn't time to try and pull him away for a talk.

When Halle's eyes slid over to the other person of interest at the moment, he saw that she was checking wounds and administering what he assumed was healing magic. Activity that was definitely more immediately important. He could wait, and so he did, idly flipping the coin Fang had given out between his knuckles. Clumsily at first, but with a bit of skill by the time Lysithea looked about done.

"Hey, ma'am. Can we have a talk? Once we're back down on Earth?" He wanted them to sit down somewhere quiet and less recently a battlefield.

Lysithea blinked and looked at who was talking to her, still trying to blink away the after effects of the battle, and when she saw that it was a boy in the colors of her Knights…wearing her symbol…

She broke into a pleased, excited smile. “Would you be opposed to going up to Lysithea instead? I…could use some quiet, and it would mean that we get to talk knowing that we won’t be interrupted by anyone wanting to pick another fight.”

She preferred to do any talking on her Homeworld…either that or powered down. It was…Chaos was so crafty in Destiny City and leaving herself open, or anyone she knew or cared about open to possible corruption was just…

Not what she wanted. Ever.

“I can take us there now, if you would like?”

Taking i up to Lysithea? Halle's expression froze and then his eyes widened. He'd forgotten, in a way, that there was a whole world of Lysithea outside its Wonders. "Uh, yeah! That'd be great, actually." To see more of the world, and the safety of talking in space would probably let them talk without interruption.

"Now is good, I've uh...wanted to talk to you for awhile."

Taking hold of the boy’s hand, Lysithea pulled out her phone and then transported them both up to the small campsite that she had. “I’m still working on renovating the palace, but…it’s not really stable enough to let me stay there, it might be, but I worry about rocks and the walls crumbling. Sometimes I have a really active imagination.”

Releasing his hand, Lysithea shifted back to her Eternal form and sank into one of the camp chairs that was set up around the empty firepit.

“So! You’re one of my Knights! What’s your name! I want to meet all of my Knights and I’m surprised that we haven’t crossed paths yet! I’m Lysithea…but I think you knew that, and I’m very pleased to meet you! Make yourself comfortable!”

The juxtaposition of princess palace with the simple campsite had Halle pausing again, his brain trying to encompass both things being reality. Regal power and...the lady sitting down in a regular old camp chair. Shaking his head slightly to clear it, he took a seat across from her.

"I'm Halle. My brother, Lisse, is also a Lysithea squire. My cousin, Almere, is a page." Just so she knew she was dealing with a whole family of her knights. Who knew if any other Everleighs would awaken once they crossed the city limits. God forbid their mom decide to try and throw a family reunion in Destiny City.

"We awakened last autumn, not long after moving to the city, and a lot's happened since then. There was a helpful Jupiter squire who filled us in as much as she could, but..." Halle took his hat off and ran his fingers through his hair, "There really hasn't been much guidance. A Mauvian upgraded my ring. There's been a few memories of the past. The Code helped once, after things were going wrong for all knights. But other than that..."

He sighed, "We...I don't know who you are to us. What do we expect from you, what you expect from us. I had to swear an oath to you." Or at least to the world Lysithea, but in the end, wasn't that the same thing?

Lysithea’s eyes grew wide as he mentioned that he had a brother and a cousin who were also her Knights. That…was honestly amazing, and she made a mental note to ask about both Lisse and Almere later, right now, she was focused on Halle.

“I’m happy that you’re doing well at least, I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to get in contact with you, I don’t…” She frowned, trying to think of what to say that would make sense and not make it seem like she were slacking. “I don’t get…alerted? When I get new Knights…it’s really just up to luck that we cross paths, or word of mouth gets back to me that someone’s looking for me…I wish there was a way to know who’s out there…and I’m not…anything. Not really. I’m the Princess of this moon, but…I don’t ask for oaths or anything, I just want to meet my Knights. It’s exciting, there are two that I know pretty well, Stirling and Dering, and I know that there are others, but those…they’re the ones I’ve spent the most time with. But, I hope I can invite you to family parties and things too? If you want to, there’s no pressure!”

"Well, I did have to make an oath to Lysithea, whether you wanted it or not." For a moment, Halle sounded just plain tired, not to mention bitter. He'd been hoping that, well...

Even if he didn't want some authority figure forced on him, it was better to have an authority to look to than, nothing. Continuing uncertainty. He rubbed his face, "Is that all we can expect from one another? Maybe knowing that the other exists and maybe attending social events?"

Halle dropped his hand to look at her, "There's nothing else you want from us? No goals?" His eyes flickered around the campsite, a necessity since her own palace here sounded just as unlivable as a new page's Wonder. Maybe princesses were just as aimless as any of them were.

“I…would assume…” Lysithea hesitated, and held back the words that she really wanted to say, which was that she hoped--”I would think that your oath was to the Moon of Lysithea…not to me...I mean. That would be how I would think it….the Wonders you protect are part of the Moon, not…a part of me? I…don’t have all of the answers, Halle.”

Her smile was gone, and she looked at him with an expression and thought about what she wanted to tell him. What could she tell him without…him losing even more faith in her.

“My...whole story is a little bit…” Her nose wrinkled and she shrugged. “...Convoluted…I was corrupted. A few years ago. I got taken in by Chaos…lost all of my memories. Then my friends worked so hard to bring me back. If I had the answers at one point that you’re seeking…it’s very possible that they’re gone now? Or…or that I simply haven’t learned them yet.”

Lysithea looked away, her eyes scanning the horizon. “I learn a little bit more about my past every time I come up here. I’m sure that you must too…or, I hope that you will...in time. I don’t…know if there is a set purpose to things anymore. In the past…? Maybe but now? Now we’re all learning as we go.”

It felt so frustrating, and most of that feeling had simply been lingering from that first night. And building every night after that. The Code...could offer some information and guidance, but it seemed like only in some strange emergency situations. His wonder provided similar, but only sporadically and only in regards to taking care of it and remembering what used to be.

In the here and now, on Earth, there was...nothing. To him, learn as we go, sounded a lot like, React to whatever Chaos is doing. Halle shook his head, dismissing that thought for later. There was no leadership and no one even remotely responsible for knights, then. So be it. Whatever. He didn't know why senshi royalty even existed, but it seemed like she didn't either. That was probably a lot more frustrating for her.

"Sorry," he finally responded, feeling a little bad for his attitude but not enough to pretend like he was happy to hear any of this. "I didn't know corruption erased memories." Another reason for that so be completely terrifying. Would knowing that make Lisse more cautious about the Negaverse?

"This really sucks," he sighed. "I just want to know how to plan for my...well, life, with this." Because there were visits to space to revive his wonder, and there were battles to clear chaos, but there was also planning for college. Preparing to eventually live on his own. Getting a job. And it's not like he could completely separate those things from his existence as a knight, because it was still him. Still his time. Still his life.

Lysithea felt…horribly guilty. Like she had let him down. It wasn’t a feeling she was unused to, but…feeling it so quickly after meeting one of her Knights was…

It was rough.

“If you want…solid answers…but. Riddles. Maybe seek out Cosmos? She is the one who brought me back to who I am now. She’s…strong. Has Knights of her own…but. She knows things. Things that she won’t really share but…there’s wisdom there if you want like…someone who has more than a half assed…idea.”

It wouldn't do him much good, she was sure. Cosmos had her head….well. In the cosmos. It was all about the cauldron with her and it just. They were on better terms but still.

“I say…live your life for you. This is a part of you, Halle is, but if you don’t like it…if you’re unhappy, nobody will fault you for giving it up.” That was what it sounded like to her, at least.

“Even if you that is what you decide, I would still like to be able to get to know you, if you wish it. And I…do my best to eliminate Chaos where I can, I really…I enjoy helping people. My magic is very much based on healing. I can bring back those who have been taken from Chaos too…so even though I don’t have all of the answers…I’m not useless.”

Maybe if she said it enough, she would believe it.

In other words, Cosmos was a flake who wouldn't give straight answers. Well, if he met her, he'd still ask, but it wasn't something to count on. Sighing a again, he tried not to snap, but did manage to sound even unhappier. "I'm not going to quit! I swore an oath. I don't break my promises and if I was the sort of person to quit, I wouldn't be upset right now. I wouldn't be taking this seriously."

Running a hand through his hair and snatching his hat off in a huff, Halle added, "This is important, and I'm committed. It'd just be great to know what that meant." He did relax after a moment, though, deflating a bit in front of her. "You can get rid of corruption? That's...that's really great." The boy offered her a weak smile, "I've been worried about too, it's good there's a cure." Especially if Lisse kept attacking generals at will.

"I should uh...introduce my brother and cousin to you. Almere will go crazy over it." He paused and then added, "They're a lot better than me at being...nice. And fun." Halle's smile turned a bit wry, but it was true.

“Well…if it’s not quitting that’s upsetting you…what is it? That I’m not living up to my hype? Halle…I’m a person just like you are. Just like your brother and cousin are…” Lysithea ran a hand through her hair, stood and then powered down, leaving Talia standing there, a normal woman, arms spread.

“I’m Talia. I’m just another person from Earth caught up in a war that I didn’t start, and I highly doubt I’ll be able to finish. I don’t have the why’s. I don’t have then when’s. I will keep you safe. And all of my Knights, if I can. I’ll do my best to do that. I don’t quit. I don’t give up on people. I despise letting people down, and I try my best to be who everyone wants me to be.”

She rubbed her hand down her face and swallowed back the bitter remarks she wanted to say, but instead gave a small smile. “I’m a Princess. I protect my home…and so do you.”

"I'm fifteen years old and recruited into a life and death situation, along with the family that I love and worry about. There's not a lot of information and almost no guidance, I'm apparently supposed to just figure it out by myself and sometimes maybe a talking cat will pass by and help. And like, that's the situation for everybody, apparently! I'd hoped that princesses would be different, but you aren't and that's not your fault. But yeah, the situation is upsetting. Is there anything wrong with being upset?"

He inhaled deeply to go on and then just exhaled gustily.

"I used to be really, really mad at you and the Code, for just leaving us out in the dark to fumble around with new powers and new monsters, to just try and survive. But that's not the case so, I'm not gonna be mad at you anymore. I saw you healing people on Fang, and if you can undo corruption, then that's...one less nightmare to wake me up at night. You're not useless. But I'm still left fumbling around in the dark, hoping I don't trip over my brother's corpse."

“No. You’re right. It’s bullshit.” Talia rubbed the bridge of her nose, and powered up again. “There are safeguards. I know that much. There are ways to make sure that you’re unable to be corrupted. I don’t know the extent of just how to unlock it. But Lysithea gave me the protection after I spent time with an injured unicorn…the glowing marks?”

She held her arm out, resolving to not take anything he was saying personally. It was more difficult to do than to say, but still. If he wanted assistance. She would do all she could.

“You enjoy Halle? You made it seem as though you’re visiting it often…well. Maybe someday it will offer you it’s protection too.”

There were other transcended Knights, after all…she had seen them.

“I’m sorry that you have nightmares…I’m so sorry that you were dragged into this. It is a nightmare. When you’re so focused on gaining power. Staying alive…Advice I can give you with surety again is try to stay in a group. I have a group of friends that I try to patrol with…but Order…we’re stronger together…there are a lot of…”

A wry smile as she looked at him now. “Strong personalities here…and often…we have more infighting than we do fighting with the forces of Chaos…but…find people you can trust. Patrol with them. Keep one another safe. I’ll do my best to watch out for your brother and cousin when I meet them. You have my word.”

"Yeah it's...I heard that maybe, it can be livable? I like it a lot, even without that and the..." he gestured to the glowing marks. "But it'd be great if we could all have that protection, and knowing that I wouldn't have to fight my family from one side or the other." At the very least, it was something to be proactive about, even if the details of how were hazy.

He nodded at her advice, "I've seen it when we fight alongside each other. A lot more can be done together. And it does feel, right, I guess."

If he were to be completely, embarrassingly honest here, he'd been hoping for some kind of parental or at least educational authority from Lysithea. Somebody to say do this and don't do that, to give some kind of structure to what it meant to be a knight. It really wasn't fair to her, and being disappointed didn't mean he shouldn't be grateful for what she was and could be: somebody to fight alongside.

"Thanks, and uhm, if you need help..." He took out a scrap of notebook paper and in a moment of almost uncharacteristic trust, he write down his civilian name and phone number. "I like to help. Where I can."
