Reading: If it isn't a manual for some new purchase by his family, so he can put it together or fix it for them, then it's a book that he's reading for his own enjoyment. Rather than reading non-fiction Kinsey prefers fiction, he likes to get lost in what he's reading, a good story is always a good thing to get lost in if you ask Kinsey. It's his love of books, and a secret santa that his classroom had last year, which resulted in a dark green and gray sweater with his last name on the back of it. It was a gift from a classmate who ordered it from the Harry Potter online store for him - he secretly adores it. Reading also provides ideas for things he can craft and build for himself.
Crafting: From booknooks to other interesting crafts Kinsey enjoys creating things inspired by the many books he reads, though not taking from any single thing for a project. He takes inspiration from things - nothing directly from a book he's read. He likes to let his own imagination run wild with what he gets into making. It's one reason he spends so much time after school - at school. It may be only an hour or two a day but it's monday thru friday that he stays, working on things. He doesn't have the tools at home, plus he'd never be allowed to make such things at home, but at school he can hide himself away in a room and craft all manner of things. He's seen what others online have made and has taken ideas from that, as well as learned new methods to achieve certain looks he is going for. He had little lanterns made out of metal, which he laser cut himself, with the inside of the lantern looking like a fairy inhabited forest - it's one of his favorite projects. When Azure Valley is closed, for the night, Kinsey will often wander himself to the library to work on other projects seperate from whatever he is working on after school at Azure.
Virtues:
Observant: Kinsey doesn’t talk much, some people can honestly say they’ve never heard his voice, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t there in the room and aware of things. He’s not sleeping or zoning out, far from it, he is aware of what is going on around him and little escapes his notice. Perhaps because he isn’t participating in conversations, so doesn’t need to think of what to say, he is able instead to focus on everything going on in the room? Either way Kinsey sees things, many things, and it has helped him lots with his step mother and her children.
Resiliant: Kinsey has been through a lot and understands that you can't stop bad things from happening, all you can do is endure. He has learned to grit his teeth and deal with whatever comes, even if it sucks. When a project gets hard, when he can't figure something out, he just keeps at it until he's figured it out. When he wants to give up studying for an exam - he keeps going. He pushes himself often because he'll get through it and he knows it. It's not something which lasts forever...the tough times are only for a little while - there is an end. Everything could always be worse anyway, something he'll always tell himself. Kinsey, if asked, wouldn't say he has a positive attiude but rather he'd call it realistic - things can always be worse...just as they can always be better. Perhaps that is having a positive attitude though?
Flaws:
Unapproachable: It’s rather hard to approach someone who doesn’t speak and doesn’t seem to do anything, other than stand or sit while everything goes on around them. Because of this it’s hard, impossible really, for Kinsey to make friends or connect to other people. If this bothers him he’s not telling anyone, which is of course part of the problem, but it’s just hard to approach people because he really doesn’t know what to talk to people about. If he has to talk Kinsey tries to keep things as short, and often rather softly spoken, as possible. He doesn’t like to raise his voice and he absolutely hates repeating himself, or answering dumb questions.
Independantt: He can do it - he can take care of himself. Not only does Kinsey not need your help but he does not want it, why should he? He’s had to manage on his own for years now so why would he ask for someones help? He doesn’t expect it, he’s stopped expecting help years ago, so why bother ever asking and why even accept it? No one ever stepped in when he was doing everything before, no one in his school or family ever stepped in while knowing his family was dealing with a lot. If someone is giving help he is going to assume the person wants something in return, because no one ever gave him anything before so why now? He will assume it is for their later gain. This does mean he’s made his life a lot harder by not asking for help, leading to stress which could without a doubt be avoided, it also means that when things are hard for him he has no one to lean on or go to for help. It’s rather lonely. It also means he can come off as ungrateful because he does push help away, sometimes rather coldly. He is very solitary, because he does not talk to others, and can come across as arrogant or as if he thinks he can do things better than others. He also means when it comes to group orojects, of any sort, he can appear difficult to work with as he will just take on every task himself and allow no one else to do anything. It's as simple as that for him, he doesn't care what others think, he simply doesn't want to owe anyone anor does he trust anyone to do what he knows he can do - what he has done. Perhaps this is why people in school avoid him, some may watch him from a distance, but few if any approach him and he has come to accept this - he knows it's his fault and he accepts it.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Blue - like his mother.
Hair: Brown, just a simple brown color with some very light curls which can thankfully be managed easily enough.
Face: Heart shaped, has a small birthmark on his face - by his right eye.
Skin Tone: Fair, doesn't take much color from the sun.
