Nectaris had been so friendly...it had been nice. Much better than the naggers in his life. Halle, mostly. But Lisse wasn’t going to think of his brother right now, he was going to finish his walk. It had been nice meeting up with another Knight, but there was still a lot of patrolling left to accomplish before he could head back to his dorm.
Honestly…it was a good thing that he hadn’t just headed back, because the peaceful night was…maybe not shattered, but the chaotic aura that he felt made the Squire bristle, and Lisse summoned his weapon to his hand, holding onto the unicorn horn handle tightly.
“Who’s there?”
He took a few steps closer, but the person was in shadow. Squinting slightly, he waited for them to hopefully answer.
And hopefully walk a few feet into the light from the overhead street lamp.

As the squire advanced in his approach, Hekate took a step back, matching him stride for stride while her wraith, passive as could be, loitered under the shade of another shadow. Its corporeal form hovered silently, as the creature watched the scene unfold with expressionless gaze; borderline too full of energy to care and wanting to possibly sleep or contemplate if there was room for possible desert. After all, the Squire, with his cotton candy-colored uniform, did look particularly sweet. Hard to tell with something incapable of conversation and at times Hekate wondered if it had the capacity to form its own thoughts. At least she was aware enough to know she couldn’t count on the wraith to back her up beyond perhaps spooking the Squire into fleeing, but that posed its own risks if he turned on it and dusted the thing into oblivion. From where she stood, Hekate knew her magic could not reach him and so with her silence, she attempted to lure him close enough with her aura alone to step into her slow-moving magic. “Jinx,” she whispered as the purple wispy trail fell from her palm to the ground between them and snaked its way towards the young boy.

He saw the strange…what was it, magic? He thought it might be magic. Whatever it was, if that was how this was going to go…well. No. Absolutely not. “You’re not going to fool me, I’m not stupid.”
Lisse’s voice grew angry, chilled. “If you think you can use magic on me, well. You’ve got another thing coming. You’re not strong enough to actually take me on.”
Was he bluffing? Maybe. Did he believe in himself…
Well. Again maybe, but Lisse wasted no time in lifting his whip into the air and beginning to swing it in a large circle, summoning his magic as he did so.
“You’ll see what you get for trying to be sneaky, chaos goblin.”
…Because. That name had a ring to it, and honestly? Maybe he would start using it for all things.Shanyume Four foot whip made out of embroidery thread, handle is a unicorn horn. Lisse spins his whip in the air and an ethereal unicorn appears and charges at the nearest enemy, rearing and attacking with its hooves and horn. The range of this magic is ten feet and the magic can be channeled for thirty seconds. The unicorn does no true physical damage but the player may choose to have bruises remain after the fact.

Chaos Goblin? Hekate’s watched him from the shadows with a pinched expression. Surely he means the wraith But no… the weapon’s aim and his pointed glare were most definitely aimed in her direction and that damned Wraith floated nearby idly watching the scene unfold with its passive, almost bored if not hallowed look in its eyes. If it could speak, she was sure it would ask her to hurry up so it could return to Mirrorspace and slip into a stasis-like nap. Useless she mentally scoffed and would have rolled her eyes if not for the threat advancing towards her. Hekate lifted her arms to shield her face, in case the Squire thought to strike her with the whip in hand, and retreated back a few more steps. Her heel caught on something; a raised rock, tree root, small shrub, leg of a recently drained victim not so discreetly hidden… Who the hell knew. Not like she had eyes in the back of her head to carefully watch where she was going. Even so, a sharp startled yelp broke the otherwise stilled silence as the ethereal unicorn manifested between her and the Knight. “Jinx!” she shouted this time louder as she scrambled to her feet. If it couldn’t reach him then maybe it might do something about the angry horned horse running at her. “LENKA!” Another more panicked cry was pulled from her, one of desperation; a plea that would go unanswered because Hekate knew there was nobody nearby to hear her call out for help, at least nobody powered that was a part of her Court or the Negaverse which she’d take over nothing.

Lenka? Just what was a Lenka? Was that another bit of magic she was trying? Was that…like…honestly the fear in her voice almost made Lisse feel bad, and he hesitated before took a half step towards the person, and then another step away, shaking his head. No. This was no time to feel /compassion...this…
“You brought this on yourself! Trying to attack first. This was just…you need to like, maybe learn to talk things out before trying to jinx someone! Remember that you’re not even very strong, and if I really wanted, I’m sure I could crush you like a bug!”
Lisse made his voice far sharper than he actually felt, and after feeling that his words had sunk in, and the message had been truly received, he backed up another step, and then broke into a run, absolutely unwilling to face this head on.
Again, he had come out the victor…and that was all that really mattered at this point in time. At least, he would be better at spinning this story, unlike the other. The General had…honestly been scary, and this one…had been…well. At a bad time, but he had felt in control which was important.
It was a victory. A real one. And his brother could deal with the information as he wished. And Lisse would simply....keep the bad details out of his retelling.

At his retreat, Hekate tried to stand and again her knees buckled under her weight. Sharp bits of dirt jabbed into her knee until finally, she crawled over to a tree where she leaned her back against the rough textured bark. Hekate’s heart beat wildly against her chest as the very real fear of nearly being trampled by the summoned beast replayed itself in her mind's eye. If he’d come only a step or two closer then maybe her magic could have reached him, caused him to stumble all over himself as she had. Or… it could have put her within range of the unicorn which could have reared up and kicked her in the head with how much trouble she was having trying to get away. However, it often felt that luck was never on her side, perhaps a side effect of being the Senshi of Jinxes. Often times it seemed that her magic merely brought opponents to her level of misfortune. Her hands shook, impressions of rocks and mulch indented the palms of both hands, as she withdrew her compact from its place in her subspace pocket. “Lenka?” Her voice was shaky, unsure, embarrassed… ashamed. “Lenka… I need your help, please…”Orangeish Sherbert TBC in Lenka x Hekate follow up RP
