Well that's because auctions are Actually kind of in two flavors here.
Normal auctions are as advertised. A pet or slot of some kind goes up for money, highest bidder wins.
Or maybe you have too many breeding babies and have no idea what to do with so many. You can ask the shop to auction the baby for you. If this happens, then the final bid win will be divided 3 ways - bewtwqeen you, the colorist, and the person whom ran the auction for you.
All auctions come without an Autobuy at present, although this isn't ALWAYS true - for example, a colorist might add an autobuy as a form of achieving a goal for an item, items, or plat. ALWAYS check, but autobuys should be rare.
