• Ask for permission before RPing the death of someone else's character. Duh.
  
• You may only have adult phoxes pass away! No child death here!
  
• Realize that death is final once posted in this thread. You cannot change your mind once you have posted for your phox to be added to the Afterlife.
  
• The deceased pet can no longer produce offspring, may still be used for possible throwbacks at the owner's discretion.
  
• The deceased can still be RP'd, though they cannot interact directly with anything except Ascended or other deceased phoxes.
  
• Deceased phoxes may exist among the living as an entity with no form. Think of a poltergeist.
  
• Your deceased phox will receive a new uncert and cert! Their uncert will be slightly dimmed and translucent.
  
• In addition to the above, you must either have a plot outline or a RP about how the phox has passed.
  
• Deceased phoxes may apply to become an Ascended, in what is essentially a cycle of rebirth.
  
• To be eligible for a mortal to Ascended conversion, the mortal must have at least 10 completed RPs to their name.
  
• You must also have a quest posted and approved in the quest subforum for the mortal-to-ascended!
  
• If a mortal dies and is Ascended, they are no longer related to any of their previous family. None of their kits, grandkits, etc may use their new rebirthed Ascended image in throwbacks - they may only use the old mortal one.

Ascended

Aside from the breeding benefits of the guaranteed 4 bowls and a possibility of 5, Ascended come with a few perks.
All phoxes can Ascend, but not all phoxes may wish to as even if there are perks, Ascended are expected to have some responsibility.

Stronger Magic
Ascended are ‘masters’ at magic, and are proficient at illusory magics.
Ascended may canonically turn themselves into human form and mingle with humans.
They may also take on either an in-between form (basically a Furry) or a ears-and-tail(s)-only form.
An Ascended may choose to become a master at one type of magic, be it ice magic, healing, shielding, etc….Or they can become a jack-of-all-trades and master many forms of magic, but at the cost of said magic being less powerful than a specialist.

Domain Guardians
All domains are watched over by a Celestial (Ascended) who keeps things from getting too crazy and collapsing.
This is to say, if a phox enters a low/no technology domain with an iPhone or cybernetic parts, an Ascended will be around to either confiscate the offending items or expel the phox.
Ascended are also somewhat responsible for maintaining the connection(s) between the Cafe and Domains.
