Attacks: Sailor Scout Attack: Nihility’s Whisper!
Pyrrhus speaks the name of his attack, and all color and sound bleeds out of a ten-foot area around him, creating a zone of nihility. Within the area, all active magic is paused, and new magic of first stage level cannot be cast. Second stage or higher magic may have the sensation of feeling harder or more draining to cast, leaving those who try with a sense that there is only nothingness where their magic should be. This has a moderate effect on second stage magic, a slight effect on third stage magic, and no effect on fourth stage magic. When the magic ends, any paused magic that had been cast will resume again. This effect lasts for 25 seconds, and Pyrrhus can cast this spell three times per battle.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Nihility’s Breath!
Pyrrhus speaks the name of his attack, and all color and sound bleeds out of a twelve-foot area around him, creating a zone of nihility. Within the area, all active magic is paused, and new magic of first or second stage level cannot be cast. Third stage or higher magic may have the sensation of feeling harder or more draining to cast, leaving those who try with a sense that there is only nothingness where their magic should be. This has a moderate effect on third stage magic, but still cannot effect fourth stage magic. When the magic ends, any paused magic that had been cast will resume again. This effect lasts for 30 seconds, and Pyrrhus can cast this spell twice per battle.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Nihility’s End!
Pyrrhus speaks the name of his attack, and makes a sweeping gesture with one hand. Enemies in a 20ft radius are pulled into a vision of a zone of nihility, devoid of color, sound, and sensation—a plane of total nothingness, with the only thing visible besides themself being a looming black hole visible in the far, far distance. They are overcome by a crushing sense that nothing matters, death and decay are inevitable, and nothing can change the hopeless fate of themselves or the world. Being physically attacked will jolt them out of the illusion, but the emotional effects will remain. This attack lasts for 45 seconds, and Pyrrhus can cast it once per battle.
Deep Space Senshi:Physical Features: Skin tones in varying shades of blue, purple, or green, usually dark but on very rare occasion extremely pale; elf ears; Pyrrhans are also somewhat sensitive to sunlight as a result of having lived on a planet of eternal darkness.
Backstory/History:
The world of Pyrrhus was violent, brutal, and bloody. They might have called themselves a warrior culture, once, but those days were long gone; in truth, Pyrrhus was a culture of violence without honor or care. The strong were king, and the weak were dead. Pyrrhus was cast in eternal night, a benefit for its sunlight-sensitive citizens, and though its wildlife and environments were strange and often hostile, its stubborn, combative people thrived.
Rylafein was born to parents who died shortly after his birth, and he was taken in by his maternal uncle. His foster father’s own daughter was around Ryla’s age, and the two grew up as hostile, competitive siblings. The previous Senshi had been sibling to Ryla’s mother and his foster father, and with he and his cousin Greyna having been born both close together and not long after the previous Senshi’s death, both were considered likely candidates.
However, Greyna was favored for a particular quirk of her biology—she was born with extremely pale skin, a rarity among Pyrrhans, and one that made her stand out. This condition was believed to be a blessing from the gods, and since the chief god of the Pyrrhan pantheon, Bhael, Lord of Murder, was considered to spiritually be the father of the Senshi, this blessing made her seem the obvious choice. It was thus something of a shock to her when Rylafein was the one determined to have the Senshi starseed.
From that moment on, the cousins were at odds—Greyna convinced that Rylafein had somehow stolen her birthright, Ryla honestly just trying to exist. He made a name for himself as a mercenary and an assassin, ever having to keep one step ahead of Greyna’s attempts on his life, and during that time, he met the man who would become his husband. A fellow Senshi from another world, Ryla fell for him hard and fast, and the two found that they made for a capable duo. They, along with a mutual close friend and the sometimes-reluctant participation of another of Ryla’s cousins, made for an extremely effective crew of adventurers-of-sorts.
Eventually, Rylafein and his partner set their eyes on a powerful prize—an ancient relic said to be tainted by Chaos. They were convinced that they could control it, mold it to their will, and use ti to make themselves powerful.
They were wrong.
While the heist was successful and they returned with the artifact to Pyrrhus, their attempts to master it were
not. They succeeded in breaking the magical seal on the artifact, but it resulted in the shattering of the artifact itself, and a massive explosion that killed Rylafein’s beloved and left him nearly dead himself. He was able to take shelter and recover, but in the time he hid away, the Chaos festered.
On the day it fully took hold of Pyrrhus, the sun rose over the asteroid for the first time in millennia.
The nocturnally-adapted life of the planet was not prepared for sudden, bright day. Many people and some of the smarter animals fled underground, into Pyrrhus’s extensive network of underground caves, while the surface roasted under the new sunlight.
Once they were underground, though, the people found strange monsters—manifestations of the Chaos—hunting them in the dark. These monsters fed indiscriminately, and pushed a people already desperate to their brink.
And then, Greyna discovered and revealed Ryla’s role in unleashing the Chaos on their world.
In an instant, the people turned on their Senshi, and he was forced to kill Greyna and flee deeper into the caves. He spent the centuries a hunted man, dodging monsters and his own people alike—but finding that over the years, the hunts dwindled, until at last, he was left alone in the dark with only Chaos for company.
That was, until a light from beyond the cosmos shone, guiding him to Earth.
