It took time to transition to an entirely new life. It wasn’t just like, putting on new clothes and figuring things out. Madelyn had the specifics all taken care of, thanks to Emily…

There was still a twinge of pain at the thought of her friend. Her friend who had gone to live up on Hestia. She missed Emily. Badly. Her friend had been a rock, and without that stability…she just had felt adrift.

For almost an entire year but. Who was really counting.

It was going to be best not to keep staying alone. She had to do something...especially with the letter from the Code.

It needed help…and honestly. She owed it her freedom…her new life…

She…had to do something. It had given her a new purpose after all, and what had she done to repay that kindness? Mope. Sulk. Pretend to not exist.

Madelyn had been a lump for the past ten months, and it was time to do something.

She powered up into Frigoris for the first time in far too long, and said the words that would take her up to her Wonder…for the first time since placing her piece of the Code there…

Was she even worthy to be a Knight of the Moon?

…Maybe not. Or…she hadn’t been. But she would change it now. She had to do something to change or she would simply rot away.

When she arrived up on Frigoris, she was dismayed to see that…well. It hadn’t been spectacular to begin with, but the place was absolutely trashed now. Whatever beauty had come to the frigid place was gone. The large lake that she had vaguely thought about making an ice skating rink was cracked with spidery lines. It was far too warm here, and things were melted, sideways it…

Honestly it hurt her heart.

Quietly she made her way over to the stone bench that was near the lake, to the pillar where she had set the Code piece, thinking that it would always be a lovely light for anyone who visited…maybe she should have been more thoughtful. Should have protected it better. The once beautiful glowing orb was…well.

Sad.

Picking up the code piece, she cradled it in her hands and took a seat on the bench, leaning back and softly stroking the magical orb. She didn’t know if physical contact would help, but she had to let it know that she was there. That she was ready to truly take up the mantle. That she was ready for the responsibility of being Frigoris.

As she sat there, she began to hum softly, a lullaby. Something soothing. Something relaxing. It calmed her and as she sat, memories seemed to flood her. But she was in a different outfit. Talking to a tall, blue skinned woman…calling her…Dagon.

So that was Dagon! She had notes written about the woman, but nothing ever truly resonated but this?

Frigoris swallowed and opened her eyes, finding the damp with tears. Finally, slowly she placed the now glowing Code pice back on the pillar. “I will find something better for you to reside in. I am sorry it has taken me so long to return…but I won’t let you down again.”

The words were a promise, and a vow.

And as she picked up the small ring that seemed to have fallen out of the glowing orb…she knew that it accepted those words…

Now, it was simply time to be who she was meant to be.
