Hyperborea breathed in the fresh air of her Wonder as she opened her eyes surveying the acropolis. Rainbow cherry blossom petals danced lightly in the cosmic wind. Here it felt so far away from the war she could almost forget about the conflict back on Earth, forget about all the problems she was facing. But she knew there was no hiding the troubles on Earth, even if she never left her cosmic home they would find her here eventually, evident enough by her reason for this trip.
She had come to calibrate and resynch with her Code piece so that the whole would be restored to proper health. She thankfully knew exactly where her Code piece was and had communed with it many times so she didn't expect to encounter any issues with this task. She walked over to entrance of the labyrinth that hid her Code piece. A slab of marble seemed to cover the doorway but once she placed her glowing palm on it and willed a bit of her magic to flow into the door it slid into the ground revealing a staircase descending deep into the hill.
The stairway was gently lit by glowing gems imbedded into walls that had been brightly painted with scenes of Hyperborean mythology and history. The young woman descended into the center of her Wonder where she eventually reached a glowing bright white room. Veins of iridescent glowing lines of energy traced back to the center of the room where there sat a floating large crystal with a glowing ball of light inside it that periodically sent cascading beams of multi colored light across the room.
She felt a familial warm in the center of her chest as she walked up to the crystal. There was perhaps no other place in the universe she felt more at peace than here. She placed her hands on crystal and breathed deep as she connected her mind with the Code piece. Closing her eyes she felt like she was one with the cosmos as she meditated on the Code and willed it to resynch, to empower the whole of the network.
As she was meditating she felt a memory that did not belong to her flood into her mind. She saw through foreign eyes, eyes that she knew must have belonged to her ancestor Theseus. He walked through the crystal forest of Hyperborea a finely crafted bow in his hand as he stalked a rabbit with silver fur and ash white antlers. The rabbit much like everything on Hyperborea was gigantic, about the size of a bloodhound. He crouched down in the sparkling foliage as he let an arrow fly striking the animal down in a single shot. The giant knight moved to claim his prize as two more young looking Hyperboreans approached. "Nice catch Thessi!" A chipper voiced female giant said. "I'd expect nothing less from our illustrious cousin." Spoke the male giant in a teasing but not malicious tone. "Oh please Pirithous don't overstate my fame." Theseus responded with an chuckle as she felt him roll his eyes. "You'll be leaving for the academy soon right Thessi?" The girl asked. "Yes I'm to be sent away next week." Theseus responded with a mix of excitement and trepidation. "Be careful you don't fail out, dear cousin, else the Code might decide its time for our house to take the reins of our dear city." The boy teased. "Not on your life Piri, I'm gonna become the greatest knight of Hyperborea who ever lived." Theseus declared defiantly. Before Hyperborea could see more she was pulled out of her mind back to reality. She could tell her task was done.
