Unlike with Regal’s wonder, Sawtooth did have a significant upper hand in locating his Code piece- like, yes, alright, he didn’t know where it was and had hardly given any thought into even wanting to find it. He hadn’t known it was necessary to find. No one had told him as much! And someone should’ve, if it was important, because unlike Regal and a handful of others, he had Kaiah.

The spirit of his wonder had never steered him wrong, though she was certainly a little opinionated and a little judgmental.

Sawtooth trusted her. She’d been on his wonder- er, presumably longer than any Knight previous, anything previous, besides the Code itself. She could tell them what they wanted to know. He hoped… There was one tiny caveat, of course (because there always was): she didn’t like Regal, aaaand… Sawtooth didn’t exactly blame her for it… Meetings where Sawtooth and Regal were both on his wonder could get a bit contentious. They’d have to get a bit lucky with her helping them while his husband was around.

But they had means of circumventing that.

So they’d decided to take a breather after Regal resonated at his wonder. They’d gone home, collected their daughter from Elias’ mother (and told Teyla what was happening, of course. Teyla wasn’t a knight, but she was a senshi. She deserved the deets!), and settled on another time to visit Sawtooth’s wonder a few days later. With all three of them. Kaiah didn’t like Regal, but she did adore Zero.

Eli and Thaddeus had argued a bit, of course. The Surrounding was in quite terrible shape, and it was dangerous, even. Worse than any prior visits. They didn’t know Regal’s wonder that well to begin with, but there was a chance that Sawtooth’s wonder could be similarly affected… That it would also be dangerous. That the mostly-pristine structures of his wonder might have collapsed, or been damaged in such a way that they would collapse… with Sawtooth, Regal, and Teyla inside…

But they’d eventually come to a consensus. Kaiah would inform them of any dangers. If she acted odd, they would simply leave and come up with a different plan.

For now, Sawtooth was satisfied with this course of action.

He’d only ever been able to bring Regal or Teyla to his wonder with him. He wasn’t strong enough to transport them both. But with the little boost of energy from the Code, for this time only, he could manage both, and he was actually pretty excited to share the moment with them, even if it had resulted from an unsavory accident.

Sawtooth carried Zero in his arms as they arrived. His feet had barely touched down when he felt as if he’d been sucker punched in the gut, the wind knocked right out of him, the consequences of bringing along two guests for the first time. He could accept that. Heaving in a deep breath, he chuckled softly. “Well, at least we made it. Can’t complain about that.” And he was pleased to see that nothing looked out of sorts.

The great spires of Sawtooth still stood, surrounded as they always had been by deep and dark forests.

“Everything seems normal,” he shrugged. “Let’s find Kaiah. I’m sure we’re in for a climb.”
