Yes! Back to his Wonder! Voyager was excited that he would finally be able to get back to it. Being unable to go to his Wonder as much as he had been able was greatly concerning for him, so he was very happy that he was now able to do so and did it immediately after the meeting with the Code on the moon. Not like the time would matter other than needing sleep. Pluto was always covered in darkness, so going at any time of day, season, or decade wouldn’t change the lighting.
He made his way to the trail of lights leading to his Wonder and hurried to the ship hoping that it was not in more of a state of decay or destruction than it was naturally. Half the ship was already looking like it had been ready to fall apart, he didn’t want the other half to do so as well!
When he finally could see the ship he let out a sigh of relief seeing that nothing superficial had changed on the outside. The inside was a different question and one he would have to figure out soon.
When he poked his head inside he quietly yelled “Morland?” Much like Luigi did in Luigi’s Mansion but heard no reply. He could feel that Morland wasn’t there. And Morland was always there. Even if you couldn’t see him it usually meant he was in another part of the Wonder.
Now though, it was like he didn’t even exist.
Well, the first place to look would be the Captain’s quarters right? Voyager had thoroughly gone over the treasure areas that he had access to and while he had hung around in the Captain’s quarters, Morland usually distracted him or he was thinking about other things to continually go poking around in it.
When he finally made it in there he was sure that he was in the right place. Papers that were once whole appeared to be ripped to shreds, a giant scratch ran along the Captain’s desk, almost as if someone had attacked it with a sharp object.
He moved over towards it and started to look within the drawers. He had found the key to his ring in here before, the Code piece had to be locked up too… Ah-ha! He removed a key from a small hiding place in one of the bottom drawers. It wasn’t as ornate as the other key, but the end of it appeared to have a medallion of the Moon on it.
He moved over to a corner of the room he hadn’t had time to look at, remembering that there was a small treasure chest. Moving things out of the way and finally sliding the chest toward himself he used the key on it, hearing the clicking sound as it worked it’s way open and revealed the Code piece. Interesting. So it could be hidden anywhere on the ship then?
For now it was in a place that Voyager thought it would be best, but if he was able to explore more of his Wonder as a Knight, he might find somewhere else. He carefully lifted the piece out of the Chest and for a moment he wondered what to do, but then took out his upgraded pocket watch and started to use his magic. The piece appeared to resonate with it.
John was surprised that the magic was staying for so long, but then realized it was if time had slowed down and the 35 seconds that he could normally use his magic for stretched for what appeared to be at least a couple of hours.
It eventually ran out and afterwards everything appeared to be back to normal, with the Code piece now back in what he assumed it’s usual form, and even the messed-up papers in the room had been put back together and the scratch on the desk gone. He let out a sigh of relief, gently pat the Code piece before putting it back and decided that he would stay for the night in the bed that was provided. Just in case whatever had happened tried to attempt whatever goal it had in mind for the piece again.
