Demeter kept her eyes peeled as she went on patrol tonight. She'd had a fight with her parents. A bad one. She was old enough to go out without needing permission—she contributed to the household like an adult—she ought to be treated like one, instead of being chastised like a naughty child. She felt really guilty over it, too. She just didn't know what to do—it's not like she could afford to move out on her own, and even then, she'd feel guilty because her parents needed her to contribute! Never mind all the weird little gay feelings she was having over another girl. And... other stuff that she didn't want to think about too much or else if she thought about it too much it would actually start to bother her and make things even more weird at home and she didn't want to hate herself more than she kind of already did, which was weird, right? Like. It was totally weird for her to go from someone who loved herself so much to someone who was losing confidence at this age, right? All thoughts flew from her mind when she felt the power signature of a Page nearby, and she perked up. Good! Good. A distraction. Maybe she could make another friend, someone else to worry over so she didn't have to worry about herself. She ran from rooftop to rooftop, enjoying the anime protaganist feeling of it all, until she spotted the Page with joy—and the youma behind him with fear. "Watch out!" she shouted from above, before letting out a Tarzan yell as she leapt down, landing on the giant lizard-y thing's back. "Bad dog!"

Lanting was still...reeling, from the experience with Dunnottar, if he was honest. It had been a day, and he didn't feel any batter about it, and it still didn't make sense. Dunnottar had seemed so sure that Zhiheng had killed the past version of him--but Lanting hadn't seen any such memory, and he felt like that sort of thing was important, and instead he'd seen Zhiheng and some mentor of his who made Lanting's skin crawl when he thought about that too much.
Ugh. He wanted to put that memory in a box and never think about it again. And he wanted to understand what had really happened with Dunnottar, and--
And part of him wondered if it was all an excuse, if Dunnottar had taken his time connecting with his Code piece and used that time to decide that actually, he didn't like Lanting at all, and made something up to justify ditching him? That made more sense than anything else, as far as he was concerned.
He was...not paying as much attention as he should have been, wandering around while powered up. He only really realized that when he heard someone yell behind him, and he jolted, and spun, just in time to watch the very cool Senshi smack into the youma that had probably been about to bite his head off.
"s**t!" Lanting gasped, and on instinct, he chucked his little orchid wand at the thing, because it was the only weapon he had to hand and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Demeter moved her hands out of the way just in time for the wand to strike the lizard guy in the eye. It roared and bucked, once, twice, then a third time, and Demeter fell off, hitting the ground hard enough and with enough momentum to slide. She hissed under her breath as the pain of the scrape bit into her arm, along with (most definitely) some gravel. Ugh, that was going to be fun to try to clean up later. Getting an idea, she reached into her subspace and pulled out one of the cupcakes she'd been planning on sharing with someone as a snack. "Eat this!" she shrieked at it as she chucked the cupcake directly into the youma's eye. It roared at her in pain and scratched at its eye, trying desperately to remove the frosting and cake. "Attack it!" she hissed at the Page. "It's definitely close to dusting now!" In the meantime—"Harvest Growth!"—and the sprouts appeared, the gravel falling free from her arm and the scrape healing over. If Lanting had anything hurting him, he'd probably feel something too, but she didn't know for sure—all she knew was that she could heal herself and she wanted to be good backup for the Page. Noir Songbird Super Sailor Scout Attack: Harvest GrowthAs she calls her attack and flicks her arm, seeds scatter across the area and give way to ethereal sprouts that rapidly become various plants—pumpkins, wheat, corn stalks, tomato vines, to name a few. Spores explode into the air, healing moderate injuries for allies. This attack lasts for 35 seconds, has a radius of ten feet, and has two uses.

Lanting didn't really need any encouragement--he'd seen that these monsters wanted to hurt civilians, and that made it pretty easy to want to stop them from whatever awful stuff they were getting up to.
So he ran in and picked his wand back up, glad for the distraction provided by the cool girl in the cute outfit and her cupcakes out of nowhere--honestly, Lanting wished he'd thought to bring fun baked goods with him, that time he'd gotten stuck on his Wonder.
(Also, this was a fabulous distraction from circling the emotional drain with upset thoughts about Dunnottar. Couldn't be mad about someone not liking you when there was a monster to beat up!! And Lanting could totally kick monster a**!! He'd done it before after being a Page for like thirty total seconds!! So this was fine!!)
He took a second to evaluate the creature, and--there. Betwene its neck and shoulders, a gap in the scales, and his little wand wasn't exactly sharp, but he could wedge it in there and yank, in a way that made the creature flail and yowl in pain.
That did make him wince a little--any pained animal sound was kind of upsetting by nature, and Lanting would rather have not heard it. But enough pressure, enough driving his little wand into that weak spot, and the youma crumbled to dust.
The sudden lack of resistance made Lanting stumble backwards and fall on his a**, which was neither slick nor impressive, but that was fine. At least it was gone.
He held up a thumbs up at the girl, grinning.
"Thanks for the save," he said. "I was totally in my own head and I would have gotten bit or something, and that would suck."

Demeter stood, brushing the dust from the road off herself as the youma's dust slowly vanished. She walked over to the Page and beamed at him, offering a hand to help him up with. "Hey, you did good, too," she encouraged. "You also actually have a weapon—my magic is really only healing, so far. Which is nice! Useful! But man, that means during a fight, I gotta get my hands all over these things, ew." She giggled softly at herself, knowing she was being a bit silly. "Nice to meet ya, though! I'm Demeter, of Agriculture. Want a cupcake that hasn't been used to assault a lizard with?"

Lanting took the offered hand, using it to get himself back up, and brushed off his cute little dress with a quiet sigh. At least he hadn't looked like a total loser the whole time' that was probably a step up.
"I dunno if I'd call this a weapon," he waved his wand in the air, "but it works! I'm Lanting," he introduced himself. "Um, Page of Ida. Which I only sort of understand And I would love a cupcake."
This was...so much nicer than being glared at. And even if she eventually discovered she didn't actually like him, at least he would have gotten baked goods out of it.
