Lisse arrived on his homeworld back in the field of flowers he had been laying in, and he looked at his brother with an almost sheepish smile. “Tulips. So many tulips. I like the tulips, and if you lay down in them, the smell is amazing. If we can get this taken care of…if I can find my Code piece…if I can fix this…we’ll have to take a few minutes to do it. After all of this. We deserve a nap in the flowers.”
He looked around, wondering where the best place to look would be, and of course his eyes landed on the windmill.
It might have been a trick of the light, or a manifestation of his nerves or just…
Some great hallucination, but there seemed to be a trail of sparkles that were mostly leading towards the cottage.
“I’m…going to go this way. I found the ring in the cottage, but…like. Maybe. I mean, windmills…
There was half of an idea forming in his head but…
“Come on, this way.”

Halle took a moment to just inhale the air and orient himself. If was a lot easier than adjusting when going to and from Earth. It was weird that it took so long, but it finally really sunk in, "We're really just on the same world, huh? Wonders seem so like, contained." Following his brother, who seemed a lot more sure of himself than moments before, Halle went on, "I wonder how far apart Lisse is from Halle." Cottages and windmills and tulips. They seemed cozy and it suited Lisse, who wanted his big adventure in space to end with a nap among flowers. Halle chuckled to himself and gave his brother's back a fond look.

“I’m really not sure, maybe some time we should try walking to each other’s Wonders? I’m not sure…how that would work, but maybe it would?”
Or they could talk to Lysithea herself maybe, and she could help them figure it out? He wasn’t sure if that would work either but. “We are on the same world, but like…I figure it’s like the US. You go to different parts and things are absolutely different…it makes some sense, this is a whole world...
Lisse continued walking, slowly opening the door to the cottage and giving a look of…mild horror.
The place was trashed. Windows broken like there had been a storm, the windmill itself had looked ragged, but he hadn’t really…thought about it but this?
“...It wasn’t this bad when I was here last time. It…this looks like a tornado blew through…”

"Maybe she has maps of it...or more memories at least?" Halle scrunched his nose as he gazed into the distance. Having seen a couple now, and noticing where they showed up and where they did not show up, he'd formed a few opinions on princesses in general. But those conclusions didn't mean they had to be entirely useless, right?
Princess Cybele had thrown what had amounted to a fun field sports day. Princess Ganymede won at arm wrestling. Maybe Princess Lysithea could give them street directions. Sure, they'd yet to show up and be useful in a battle or in cleansing chaos on Wonders, but he'd begun to think of them like king pieces. Very powerful, extremely limited, and if they were too active on the field it was probably a sign that things had gotten pretty bad.
Peering past his brother and into the cottage, Halle gave Lisse a pat on the shoulder, "It's probably just the power surge that the Code was talking about. Maybe fixing it will help clean it up?" Wouldn't that be nice. "Or," he offered, a little more practically, "I can help you clean up after you get synced with your piece, before we go back."

“I hope that turns out to be the case.” He didn’t have anything really profound to say about Lysithea, but hopefully that was the case…she ought to know her world, but…he would understand if she didn’t. A single person in charge…if it wasn’t for the technology of the time…there was no way that they knew everything either…
The feeling of Halle’s hand on his shoulder made Lisse…happier than he really wanted to admit. It felt as though Halle supported him. Something he did worry about but.
“I like that idea. If it doesn’t magically fix itself, I will absolutely take your help…thank you.”
He glanced around and made his way down a small hallway, opening a door that led to an extremely narrow staircase. “I think..it’s up here.” The strange shimmers were leading up the stairs, and Lisse drew in a breath before carefully ascending into the windmill itself.

Halle didn't feel the need to comment on how creepy the abandoned windmill was. Old, abandoned places were always pretty creepy, including his lodge. But there was something extra creepy about the abandoned building being a windmill. Maybe because they were buildings that moved? All that creaky wood? Well, his brother didn't seem deterred by it, and Halle wouldn't let himself be either. Anyway, this was space. There wasn't going top be any sack-faced slashers or undead scarecrows in space.Wait...wasn't there a Jason movie... No. And weren't the sidhe on Hy-brasil kinda... Absolutely not.Halle was not going to spook himself here. Lisse had to be a weenie before he was going to be a weenie. That was the job of being the older brother. "Stairs seem stable enough," he commented manfully.

Lisse nodded and continued climbing, careful to hold on to the wall so he didn’t slip. The steps were terribly steep in addition to being narrow. Getting to the top was worth it though, there was a small window that looked out over the tulip field, and Lisse gazed out of it for a few moments before he turned and saw a broken glass lantern holding a sad, fading orb.
“Oh! Okay, so the hunch was right.”
He reached out and pulled the lantern into his arms, moving to sit on a small chair near the window. It…seemed stable enough, and didn’t crumble when he sat down, so he figured that was a good thing.
It was…comfortable. To be up in the windmill, with his Code piece and now he just…
Relaxed.
There were dozens of windmills. Lisse was filled with them, they helped irrigate the tulip fields, and Lisse was known for her tulip fields. She stood there, on the balcony of her house, the center of the Wonder itself and looked out over the fields, grinning as the wind blew through her hip length hair.
Beautiful. It was just so beautiful. And everything…was perfect. And it would stay this way. She was the best guardian that she could be.
It had been well over an hour, but when Lisse opened his eyes, the lantern that he held was glowing brightly, the Code piece rejuvenated. It..was wonderful.
“I…guess I did it.”

Ready for the wait, Halle settled in to make himself more comfortable and enjoy the view while Lisse synced up with his Code. Somehow the cheery flowers outside made the creepy windmill even more creepy? Especially when the wind picked up and made them move. And the windmill creak. No. No. This was supposed to be what people called cottagecore, right? Not... not folk horror. It'd just been a long week, that's all. Halle anxiously drank a bottle of water as he waited for the telltale glow of the Code to brighten. He tried to think about his own recent interaction with the piece inside his forest, the trance-like sate and tracing paths that he knew were paths within his Wonder. But right now it was hard to focus on anything except every stupid creak and groan of the windmill and the whistling of the wind outside. When the area lit up, he let out a huge sigh and quickly tried not to look too relieved. Hurriedly standing up, he ineffectively smoothed out the wrinkles from where he'd been clutching at his shorts. "See? Nothing to worry about, you did great!" Actually Lisse did do great, and looked a lot better. "This has all been pretty hard on you, hasn't it?"

Lisse gently put the lantern back where he had found it, and with a soft grinding noise, the windmill began to turn once again.
“Oh. I mean…yeah. It’s been a strange few weeks. I got into a fight. Some General who was making fun of my outfit. I kicked his a** but just…haven’t really. Talked about it.”
Or, rather. He had, but Julian had been so freaked out he figured he shouldn’t ever mention it again.
“Do you want to…head back to the city? You need to make sure everyone knows you’re alive, and all that…”

Wow that grinding noise...did nothing to soothe the anxious tightness of Halle's spine! "Yeah let's head back," the words, maybe, came out a little quicker than he'd intended. And then Halle whipped his head over to stare at his brother, "You go into a fight. With a General. For making fun of your clothes?" Thankfully, his (increasingly unhappy) incredulity at that series of events nearly replaced all of the creepy dread that the haunted windmill had instilled over the past hour. "What the-" He was clearly ramping up to a Lecture.

Lisse grimaced and reached out, taking hold of Halle’s hand. “Yeah. Dumb huh?”
He shrugged and took them both back to the city before the lecture could commence.
