"Well Stov. Looks like we're here." Ziya mused as he rubbed the neck of his dark gray chiavi, his familiar resting after flying from the Ild'vann towards the capital to visit family and gather some supplies for the village. The morning had been spent flying past the mountains and thankfully his home was closer to the capital than its original placement in the northern mountains of Zena so it was only a couple of hours rather than a few days of travel. Ziya was just hoping the cousin he encountered today didn't include a rather frustrating one, the young tamer still feeling a bit awkward with the more prickly members of his mother's family. As charismatic and charming as Ziya tried to be with others there were some that made it truly hard to hold his tongue and his temper.

But regardless, it was what it was since he needed some help with trades in the capital. He knew his uncle would be busy so it would be one of his cousins, it was just a matter of seeing who would be the one to greet him by the entrance to the city market today.

Eirex attempted to pull himself together as completely as he could. Being sent to keep his cousin company was a big deal! Father was counting on him! He brushed his dark hair back into a smooth, high tail, brushed out his coat, and got the dirt off of his cheek. He knew that side of the family didn't normally put much stock into such things, but the townsfolk were a different story. He knew they would get better deal for trades if at least one of them looked fancy.

Not that he thought of them as slobs, but they certainly didn't share the nuances of the city dwellers. He was waiting by the gates and practicing his small talk with a pair of shoppers he'd seen before when he noticed the large bird come down from the air. Ah! He excused himself and waved to get the distant figure's attention. "Is that you, Ziya?"

"Takk til åndene." Ziya let out a sigh of relief as he recognized Eirex. "It is me! It's just you, right?" He stretched on his toes so that he could survey the area around his younger cousin, the one that didn't make him want to run into a wild rampage of raptrix. Now that he was dismounted, Ziya took care to fix his embroidered tunic and adjust the warm fur cloak that he had taken out for his trip to the capital with its ornate jeweled clasps and sleek design. Thankfully his far had some sense about fashion, of both genders for some strange reason, and had helped him to pick proper attire since he couldn't make the journey himself. Though Ziya kept the leather bracers with the traditional Ild'vann engravings and the braids in his hair with the leather straps tying back the strands to display that he was also a hunter, not some fancy fool to swindle at least.

"I appreciate you coming to help, Eirex." Ziya added after a moment, relaxing more as he smiled warmly towards his cousin. "I have quite a few goods to get and some to trade so it'll be a busy day for us both."

Eirex nodded and walked a little quicker to meet with Ziya. His eyes slipped over to gaze at the chiavi for a moment and his smile grew. He could still remember his first ride on a chiavi, courtesy of his Aunt Sylvi. Such amazing creatures... Ah, the task at hand though!

"It's no trouble at all. It's good to see you." Despite their visits being few and far between, he really did enjoy when he got to see his extended family. Ziya especially was quite fun. Today was about business, at least at first. That would explain the more polished look.

A high voice rose above the din of the crowd mid-sentence, "-kiss someone you don't know!"

A similar voice shrieked with laughter. "Gross! I can't do that!"

Eirex looked over to see a cluster of young ladies standing together laughing while one hid her face behind her hands and another shook her head. "You picked dare, so that's what you have to do! It's called 'truth or dare,' not 'truth or don't!' Do it oooooor-"

Eirex cocked his brow and looked back at Ziya. "Truth or dare? I've never heard of that."

Ziya chuckled with amusement as he listened to the banter in the distance. At least it was lively in the city, that much was for certain. "Wait...you haven't?" Ziya blinked with surprise as he looked over at Eirex. Even some of the Ild'vann managed to find time to play around with the game, especially when passing time during a calmer season. Did his cousins ever get to have fun or was it always business here? The very thought made him want to rebel a bit and pivot from today's plans. "Sannhet eller tøff oppgave...well, it's basically a challenge that a lot of us played around with to pass time where you pick one or the other." He paused and considered the sky for the time of day before flashing his cousin a mischievous grin. "I think I can make some time before we get down to business if you would want to give it a shot. Either pick truth and I'll ask you a question that you have to honestly respond to or dare where I challenge you to some sort of task. Your choice."

Eirex's brow rose with interest. "You just.. pick one? And then have to do it?" He glanced over at the gaggle of girls and squinted slightly. "Okay. Just don't you go saying anything about kissing strangers." He raised a hand to his chin to his chin to stroke it contemplatively. He didn't want to look like a wuss... "I'll try dare first." He straightened up and stuck out his chin bravely.

"Mmhmm." Ziya nodded as his cousin started to grasp the idea of the game. "Dares should be anything that won't get someone maimed. Does kissing a stranger risk that?" He teased before holding up a finger as if thinking more about it. "You know what? That could be a risk so I guess we'll avoid that then." There were some in the Ild'vann that would definitely put a person's head up on a stake if they dared touch them without permission first. Though speaking of risks asking his cousin to do anything in the air also seemed risky....so what could he do?

"Alright, something small just to get your feet wet." Ziya nodded as he clapped his hands together and formed a plan. "Go up to someone at random and tell them hei søte en." It technically wasn't kissing a stranger and if they didn't know the language then how could they know he was flirting about a bit? "Maybe that group could work since they're already having some fun." Ziya grinned as he pointed towards the giggling girls that were playing the game in the first place. Was he putting his cousin in a den of raptrix? Perhaps, but it was far safer than the other options that had flashed through his mind at first. None of the dares that the hunters usually asked for would probably suffice here, especially not when they were in the city instead of the wilderness.

Eirex snorted. "Just looking at a stranger wrong can get you maimed around here. Maybe not physically, but you'll feel it later." People could be so darned sensitive! But, maybe this wouldn't be so bad. "Hei søte en?" That was some kind of greeting, right? Dang it, he needed to do better about practicing that language...

Without a word, he turned and headed over to a passing iceling who looked a bit older than Ziya was. He didn't look like he was from the area, so this should be fine! "Hei søte en!" he said confidently with a friendly wave.

The Sautian looked over with a perplexed expression. His eyes shifted around before then focused on Eirex again. "Umm... what?"

Eirex mentally sighed with relief. Thank goodness! "Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else!" He spun and hurried back to Ziya. "There!"

Okay, maybe it shouldn't have amused him as thoroughly as it did but Ziya did get a good chuckle out of the interaction. "Shame that they couldn't appreciate your compliment." He managed as Eirex came back over, his own gaze bright with amusement. "Alright, as appreciation of the fact that you amused me I will even let you pick something. Want me to tell a truth or do a dare?" He asked his cousin, flipping the script for the game as he opted to not make the decision himself. What harm was a truth and how could he be afraid of a dare? As long as no one got harmed then he was fine with either in all honesty.

Eirex snorted. "Right. Such a shame." Yet, the offer to let him choose his cousin's fate.. that was enough to easily move him on from the potential embarrassment. "Well, let's see..." He scratched at his jaw and paced a few steps around. After a moment, he stopped and spun sharply on his heal. "Okay. Truth time. Tell me something you've done that would get you in trouble if Aunt Syl found out!"

Ziya simply chuckled. He would prefer to let his cousin wonder about whatever the meaning of the words could be instead of simply telling him. It was part of the fun, after all! "That's your question? What are you doing, trying to blackmail me?" Teased Ziya as he listened to the request. "Bold of you to think I've done anything to make her upset." He loved his far, truly, but it was their mother that definitely held more power within their household especially since the shifter was gone during the coldest months usually. "Perhaps the worst is not stopping my sister when she went traveling for a bit without warning." He acknowledged after a moment before grinning towards Eirex. "At the moment what could get me in trouble is if I miss out on any good deals for supplies. Survival comes first before anything else." He admitted with a chuckle. Playing a game when he should be going to trade and barter for the best deals before he lost the chance? Definitely risking his hide if his mother found out.

"So I suppose it's a good sign that we should start looking into the market. Unless you want to do a dare where I have you flip through the air on Støv." His chiavi probably would be careful with Eirex, but who knew? Ziya's gaze gleamed with amusement as he banked on them opting to just go to the market instead.

Eirex smiled coyly and simply cocked his head, patiently waiting to see if Ziya would actually respond. Of course he had little doubt that his cousin would have something hidden under his collar from his mother!

His brow rose at the reveal. "Wait, you have three sisters. Which one was it?" He pursed his lips and looked back at the market. Perhaps they should get going... His eyes widened at the risk of the dare. As much as he enjoyed flying the chiavi when he had the chance, he wasn't quite at the confidence level for flips. "You know my mother will have your hide if I break my next on your bird," he warned with another smirk. He turned and headed for the market. They could play as they walked! "Dare!"

"That's for you to figure out." Ziya teased lightly as he waited for Eirex to make his decision. "Only if you do break your neck, which hopefully not." He replied with a grin before waving away the idea. It wasn't as if he was actually going to risk his cousin's neck on a silly stunt. Maneuvers like that were best left to Revna who loved showing off in the air.

"Oh?" Ziya raised an interested brow as they started walking along, the hybrid enjoying his cousin's enthusiasm for the game. "You have to sing every word that you say to the next person we interact with." He began, eager to see what other types of shenanigans they could get into while balancing shopping with some playful antics.

Well that was going to bother him for a while! Which of those cousins of his had gone off on an adventure? He only saw them periodically, so it wasn't as though he was up to date on their lives. Such was the trouble of the distances between them...

The dare made him squint his eyes. Sing.... Gods, he couldn't go singing to any of his serious contacts! His father would be appalled! Then again.. it would be pretty funny. He laughed at the idea and rubbed at his neck. "If it's not someone who's going to tell my father and make me lose my hide~"
