[ Crocus 1 ]
The training was different now that they were recognized warriors, and Crocus didn't mind. It was more intense, realistic, and reminded him of the battles he faced on the road. Not many lasted in such fights, but he was proud to say he was one of them even if his muscled ached for days and his hair was singed.
Svadra would occasionally fight, but seemed keen to do his own thing. Today was such a day, and Crocus sought out his once-traveling companion. He was curious on how Svadra was doing, and if he found himself enjoying their return as much as Crocus had.

Whereas Crocus enjoyed preparing for war, Svadra was spending time helping train youngling. It wasn't much, simply showing them weapons and options, but it was curious to see such child-like wonder on those who had not seen death and destruction.
Most were full-blooded Aishans, but a few were hybrids. The hybrids were especially fascinated by him, and he enjoyed giving them a little extra attention. It was as one of the lessons concluded where Crocus would find Svadra wrapping up, patting the head of a young Shifter hybrid who raced off with excitement.
"Crocus, I was wondering if Aisha would bless me with a visit from you this day."

He found his heart speeding a bit when he saw Svadra, and a friendly smile crossed his features as he went in for a close greeting.
"It has been quite awhile since we've last spoke. What say you we have dinner together tonight?"

He nodded his agreement, and led them toward one of the communal meals. Together, they quickly picked out their favorite options before finding a secluded area so they could speak.
They spent the first part of the conversation catching up on the latest, before things shifted to other topics.
"The younglings were playing a curious game today...they seemed keen to challenge each other to bouts of truth or bravery."

He raised a brow at the turn in conversation, before leaning forward with clear interest, "Bravery, you say? What sorts of bouts did they challenge each other to?"

Svadra began to smirk, his eyes glimmering at the situation before him. Hook. Line. Sinker. Crocus was caught.
"Oh, you know, the standard. Race across the path, fight a radaku, steal a blade from the master blacksmith. Real dangerous acts in the eyes of a youngling."
He leaned back a moment, covering his smirk with his signature fan before raising a brow.
"Care to play?"

He nodded eagerly, before raising his chin, "Yes, challenge me to a bout of bravery, Svadra. I will show you that no one can find a challenge I cannot complete."
Around them, a few glanced over with either curious or irritated looks, but most were quite used to Crocus' outbursts and simply ignored him.

"Alright, alright. Crocus, I am meant to ask Truth or Dare, but clearly you wish to be dared...let me think."
He snapped his fan closed and tapped it to his cheek, eyes glancing around thoughtfully before they zoned in on a sister they were both familiar with.
"I dare you to ask Racin to seek blooms together from Aisha." He said with a low tone, leaning forward to watch Crocus' reaction.

He leaned back in surprise, before looking over at Racin. She was...nice. A pure-blooded sister who was unmated and unbloomed. But she was...average...and he found himself not quite desiring to sire daughters with her.
Looking back toward Svadra, he saw the smirk and set his face. A dare was a dare, and so he moved to stand and raced over to the sister.
"Racin. Come seek blooms with me from Aisha." He said gruffly as he interrupted her conversation with a few other sisters. All of them looked shocked, but none more than Racin, who began to babble and try to find excuses. It wasn't until one of her friends said a firm no than he turned, undistrubed, and walked back toward Svadra.
"Challenge complete. Truth or Bravery?" He said gruffly as he sat back down.

His heart hammered as he watched his friend walk away, curious on what was said before laughing at the looks of the girls around the burley man. When Crocus turned around, Svadra had schooled his face and simply watched with a cool expression.
"Bravery completed." He echoed, smiling before considering the question. He knew what Crocus would do, and simply nodded, "Bravery."

He wasn't the smartest, or the most sly, and so he simply said the first thing that came to mind.
"Go ask Racin to be your bloom sister." He said before he could think of anything else, considering the feelings he himself experienced with such a thought. And then another thought shifted through his mind, and he felt...regret. For what he didn't ask.

He stood, but instead of walking to the girls, he instead walked around to lean over Crocus. His eyes were hooded, and he let his fan snap closed fully.
"Darling, I'd rather ask you to be my bloomsister." He said lowly, completely serious.
"Crocus, I can think of no other to join me in seeking a bloom from our great mother. Join me in raising a strong generation, join me in showing these sisters that us hybrids can build on the great will of Aisha. Join me...in building a family."
He then moved his fan forward to touch Crocus' cheek, before leaning forward himself and brushing his lips against his friend's.

His brain didn't get past the request, and it took even longer to realize that he was being kissed - KISSED - by Svadra. What was happening?
Sure, he had feelings, a sense of companionship and trust, but he never thought beyond that. Clearly Svadra did, and Crocus found himself finally caught up with his thoughts to realize he was kissing back.
Pulling back, he blinked up at his friend, before narrowing his eyes, "You failed at bravery." Was all he could think about, before standing his full earthling height.
"A new dare. I dare you to hold up your end of that bargain, no matter how long we breathe. Together we will raise a sisterhood Aisha would be proud of."
He then smirked, "There's no way she'd say no to us."

He was pleased that Crocus responded, and moreso at his follow-up.
"Oh, darling, I doubt anyone would be able to say no to us. We've done our share to earn such an honor, and no one will stand in our way."
