[ Crocus 1 ]
It had taken much longer than normal to get back to their sleepy little hybrid homestead, mostly because of the strong storms that rolled into Jauhar. Normally, he didn't mind such storms, but it was surprising at much much they hindered traveling into the forest. The normal rivers he was used to traversing were hard to remember when going the opposite direction, and as a result Crocus found himself spending quite a few extra moments speaking with Svadra as they waited out the worse of it.
This was one of those moments, and surprisingly their conversation took a different path.
It was one that brought up memories of the one hybrid who asked if they had been partners, something he laughed over at the time, but realized now how much their relationship really was.

The rains were heavy, the season unbearable. The heat of Oba was much different than this humidity, and Svadra found himself peeling away his clothing off of his skin. He couldn't wait to get back to his home and just relax a bit, though he knew the training would pick up yet again. Life of an Aishan warrior was one of constant preparation for the enemies of the dark.
"Crocus, I'm merely saying that it does seem to be our duty to continue the lineage of our great mother, why else would she encourage single mothers to approach and bless them with blooms?"

He understood the notion, but grew up in a home filled with love. Svadra was an outsider, at least in terms of growing up in Jauhar and Chibale, so maybe he had this more romantic ideals. Or was simply romantic.
Crocus shifted, looking out at the storm.
"It's about a strong sisterhood." He added with a nod, pursing his lips further as the thought about it. He didn't really feel pressured by the idea of children, but also was quite happy to help train younglings. Maybe it was the duty of raising a strong generation.
"Yet, they didn't seem too keen on sisters like us not too long ago." He said as a follow up. It was unspoken now a days, but still the hybrids felt the weight of eyes from the pure sisters. Especially with the other trees growing, showing that pure Aishans still were preferred.

Brushing his locks back, Svadra glanced over toward Crocus with a wry grin, "How romantic." He murmured out in response.
"Surely the world has changed. Though I do admit, most hybrids aren't going to the tree, are they? In fact, many hybrids are leaving Aisha."
It was a tragic reality, or maybe a bit optimistic. A hybrid had a choice, whereas most sisters did not. It was both powerful and a bit sad to consider that most decided to head away from their home.

He was raised as if he were a sister, all things considered, being a hybrid that stuck close to home. Yet he saw many grow up and decided to pursue the earthling magic, somethign he agreeed was interesting, but not too exciting.
"It was quite tempting, to explore the world. But Aisha called me home, and my mothers supported me through it."

Naturally, they were traveling at this moment. It satiated the hunger to see the world, and Svadra could understand why those sisters who grew up in Chibale wanted to explore. But he himself was raised in Oba, so being able to be so close to his mother tree was an honor, and one he didn't like pushing away.
He had the freedom to see his family back home, but the urge to always return under the branches of Aisha.
Being so close under the leaves of their forest was soothing, and Svadra knew that this was a sign he was meant to stay...even if most others decided to go.

Svadra's silence was a bit strange as it lingered, and Crocus looked over at his taller companion. He knew that he was piss poor at reading others, at showing emotion beyond rage, and even now he found himself struggling with Svadra's expression.
"Do you want a family?" He ventured the question after another long moment.

He blinked away his wayward thoughts and glanced over at Crocus. The question rang in his ears, and he considered again the question.
"Yes." He answered, simply. It was obvious in his heart, that is what he wanted...to build a family and honor the blessing of life given to him by his great mother.

His brows raised at the simple response, and suddenly he found himself chuckling.
"Knowing your luck, you'll be blessed with three, just as your mothers were. Aisha would see it fit to challenge your conviction."

A clap of thunder and a rough breeze cooled his face as he looked back at his laughing friend.
"I would raise the challenge, such as I did every other one she presented me. If she saw me fit to raise three, or more, I would accept it with honor - as it is a true blessing that she trust me with such responsibility."
He almost pouted, before shaking his head, "And you, Crocus? Do you wish to raise a 'strong sisterhood' of your own?"

He shook his head at Svadra's response, before leaning back and stretching a bit.
"I believe I could raise strong daughters." He responded quickly, "It would be my duty to ensure our lands are protected long after I am gone. Such a legacy would be a warrior's honor."

He in turn laughed at his friend's response.
"Then I hope our daughters stand tall together, for the future of our sisterhood."
The storm seemed to be dying down, and Svadra took a look out.
"Speaking of sisterhood...shall we head home?"

He stood up, stretching his full body this time, and pulled up his pack on his shoulder.
"It'll be good to sleep in my bed again, after such a long trip." Though he worried he might grow bored, at least after such an adventure.
Glancing to his friend, he knew at least Svadra would keep things interesting.
"Let's go home."

Smiling his languid smile, Svadra took hold of Crocus' arm and used it to pull himself up, stretching like a feline himself.
Pulling their items together, he nodded once and took off, the two racing to make the final stretch home.
