Storms were rolling in as the wet season tool full hold of Tale. Yonas was concerned the remodels he worked on wouldn't hold, so he asked Maizah to come help him check.
They were just finishing up the final check when thunder slammed through the air and rain flipped on like a switch.
"L-Lets get home!" He stuttered out and began to run.

Maizah could feel the rain in the air, smell the moisture and sense the static. As a huntress, she was well trained in tracking weather just as much as tracking prey. So when her brother requested she join him, she did it mostly out of concern for his well being than his projects.
Counting, she listened as the wind turned to rain and rushed after her brother toward their childhood home.

It seemed that the weather had other plans, as they were bucketed in rain and the winds rushed around them. This was a strong storm, and they needed to find shelter. Would they even make it back in time? Yonas wasn't so sure.

She had an easier time moving through the rain than her brother, thanks to her training and tendency to spend time in the wilds. She also had much better awareness of when they needed to take shelter versus rush, and this was a situation where it was better to wait it out.
As another thundercrack crashed through the air, she rushed closer and grabbed her brother's arm, pulling him under a thick tree trunk.
"We need to wait this one out, Yonas."

The rain had all but turned him into liquid, his hair falling into his eyes to the point that it disrupted his vision moreso than the rains. When his sister grabbed him, he let her tug with full trust as they got into the trunk, finally able to push his hair away from his eyes as his warpaint dripped in messy streaks.
"O-o-okay." He whispered, already chilled as he collected himself.

As they found themselves in the shade of nature, Maizah let them both settle together and share heat. They wouldn't have the warmth from a dry stay, but they could at least rest up the best they could.
The rain grew stronger, deafening with another thunderclap, and she knew they both would enjoy a little lapse in conversation.

He didn't have much he could say to his sister, already soft spoken he was now drowned out by the thunder of the storm. So instead, he shrunk back into the protective nook they stumbled upon and tried not to flinch at every bark of thunder. It wasn't their first summer storm, but it was so much more when they werent under the protection of their homes.

She leaned a little closer to her brother, finally resting her head against his shoulder as the rain seemed to lull her into a drowzy mood. Whenever she went hunting in a storm, often they would linger and hide. Their prey didn't like to go outside, so the hunters used it as a chance to rest and bond, collecting themselves.
Finally, as the storm began to die down, she turned to look at her brother a little closer.
"The remodels you worked on are nice."

He started a moment when she spoke up, having grown comfortable with the silence. The mood was comfortable, and it was easy to speak for once. His stutter all but faded away as they softly spoke to each other, comfortable and open as only siblings could be.
"Thank you..." He said softly, "I...I'm trying."

Yonas always was hard on himself, but he seemed to have grown confident in his skill as a woodworker. She noticed it in the way he spoke to others, embolded by the fact they listened and respected him.
"Well, keep trying, and soon enough you'll become a master. Every house in the village will be a Yonas construction. I can see it now." She said as she lifted herself to lean back in and bump shoulders with him.

The storm was calming enough that it made sense for them to move, especially if it would pick up again later. These summer storms were fickle, which was why he was so keen to keep things stable in his own builds.
His cheeks warmed at her comment, and he laughed a little to himself awkwardly in response. He never imagined he would be a master in his field, but it was a goal. Maybe in a few years.
"W-we should go." He said as he bumped her back, grinning playfully.

She noticed his blush, his adversion to the complment and desire to move on. Letting is slide with a sly glance, she nodded and pushed herself up before offering to help him.
The rain still was there, but they were wet enough that it didn't matter. They could warm up when they got back home.
Instead, she looked out at the sky and nodded, "We have a little time, no need to sprint."

He was thankful for that, even if the rain began to soak him again. They could make it home and find a way to warm up a bath for a soak, or at least curl into some fresh furs and out of these clothing.
"T-thanks for coming with me..." He said with another smile, before taking off in the rain at a nice pace. They didn't need to sprint, but he really did want to get out of this storm.

"Any time." She said with a smirk, hoisting up her bow over her shoulder before watching him jog off. Cackling a bit under her breath, she lifted her face to the sky and let the rain cover her face. The nature blended into her skin before she shook it off and raced after her brother. It was time to go home.
