After helping the other village to recover, both Esai and Kukiko had decided to venture towards the next point. It was still awkward adapting to the feisty personality of the foreigner next to him, but Esai was holding on the best that he could as they continued traveling together. Despite being nearly thrown from a roof by her though Esai was beginning to understand that there was a kindness there beneath it all. It was intriguing and he couldn't help watching her at times when she interacted with others, helping out little ones and the like who were comfortable enough to approach the iceling without hesitation. But then that gentle expression would be gone in an instant as soon as a fight was brought up, the feisty expression back as she took out her sword and prepared to fight.
Even now they had just wiped out some feral wirenth, the pack having little chance against the pair who were beginning to work so well together. It had delayed their walk this morning, but surely not that much right? Esai frowned as he looked up towards the sky which was awfully dark. "We might have to take shelter soon." He murmured, looking over towards Kukiko.

Kukiko was wiping the blood from her blade while Esai gathered materials. While she had not been anticipating a fight today it was a good way to get rid of boredom at least. Things have been a bit too quiet lately. She thought to herself as she focused on cleaning her blade, making certain the surface was completely clean before sheathing it again. The pale pink blade with the engraved cherry blossoms was her most treasured thing and as a swordswoman she took great care of it. No wirenth blood was going to stain that blade today, not on her watch.
Kukiko had been so distracted by her task that she barely heard Esai when the first rumble of thunder hit. At first she didn't move as she found herself mesmerized by the sounds of the falling rain, the first rain that they had seen since the mudslide in town a couple of weeks back. "Huh. I guess shelter is a good idea." She finally replied after staring off into the sky for a moment longer. "But where do we go?" The next village was still so far away and she didn't want to back track either. Other than that there were trees and more trees with well, more trees.
