Spring storms can often appear with out little notice and last for days. They are filled with strong winds and heavy rain, which means one must halt their travel if they are able to even get outside during the downpour. Your character has found themself stuck away from home in an area with others seeking to avoid the storm. Who do they meet? What do they talk about? How do they feel about the storm?
[ A storm has resulted in your character finding themself stuck in a location with others. Who do they encounter? What conversation do they have? And how do they feel about the strong storm rolling through? ]

Eziya had tugged Serr along to the neighboring village to gain supplies. It had been a relatively easy trip, with the kids being left in the care of Xariy for a sort of sleepover with the others. Everything was going smooth until the sudden storm had arrived. The downpour made the roads too difficult to get a cart over, each attempt made causing more damage than it was worth. Eziya had watched the struggles and decided against fighting it. It wasn't often the two of them got to have alone time anymore after all, even if they were stuck in the little inn with a couple others. "No point in trying to get back. We should just stay and wait it out," Eziya commented, rubbing at her arms as the chill of the rain blew onto her from under the small inn awning.

Serr nodded. "This will be..." He glanced at the inn. "Something new." He liked being on the road because they could see a bunch of people without interacting with them for long, but over the years he had also grown to appreciate longer conversations with new folks, like he'd had as a kid. "Iā"He paused as a sodden Oban woman pushed past and hurried inside. "Yes, I think we should find a spot out of the rain as soon as possible."

Eziya smiled at Serr's hesitance, resting a gentle hand against his arm in an attempt to reassure him. She knew how much he disliked large groups, but she hoped that at least he might find something in common with the ones they would deal with while weathering the storm. Eziya led the two of them inside, sticking to the front so she could do more of the speaking for them. Realizing the two of them were probably a little wet from the rain Eziya paused and pulled out a small cloth, doing a little bit of damage control as she swiped the cloth over Serr and her both. "Better," she chuckled, moving more into the room. "Is there any availability here?" Eziya asked the oban woman at the desk, the woman lifting her head to look them over. "Yeah, hun. Plenty enough. Though there's a troupe staying here just as warning. Hope you don't mind the noise." Eziya turned to Serr then, worried he'd rather fare the rain.

He brought the length of his hair over his shoulder as Eziya was personable for the both of them, combing his fingers through its damp ends and wondering whether he should try braiding it. It would be an interesting change, at least for travel. Serr didn't perk up or deflate at the mention of this mysterious troupe, he just touched Eziya's elbow for a fleeting second before nodding. "I think that'll be fine?" he said, digging up just a little more enthusiasm than he felt. Maybe he could learn a thing or two about performance. Maybe they'd have good stories. Or maybe he and Eziya could squeeze out a decent night's rest by sleeping when the troupe did. They needed shelter more than they needed sleep. He reached for a money pouch, waiting for their host to quote them a price for the evening.

After settling the matter of lodging with Serr's money pouch, Eziya pulled him along to go inspect the troupe that the innkeep had told them about. Despite the weather everyone was pretty upbeat and raucous music filled the area around the stage. There was a moment where she considered approaching the group to get a closer look, but ultimately thought better of it as she guided the two of them to a table in the back. "This is a little fun, isn't it? It's been a while since we've gotten to be off on our own." Not that she minded being with the kids, but every now and then she enjoyed wandering with Serr like they had in their younger years. "But how are you feeling? The rain didn't make you too cold did it?"

Serr sat at the little table in silence for about half a minute as he let their surroundings wash over him and his discomfort fade. When he looked at Eziya again, his small smile was unguarded, almost impish. "Yes, sorry. Outside was... gross." He flexed his toes against the floor, rubbing off a bit of the drying mud. "Yes," he stressed again. "I'm okay and this will be fun." But what could they do first? "Do you want to order something? Or talk to the troupe? Or get a blanket?" That last suggestion kind of came out of nowhere, but huddling under some warm throw watching a bit of revelry while a storm raged outside sounded magical.

Eziya sat up straighter as she listened to Serr speak, always happy when her dear husband offered up ideas for their outings. The blanket idea was a nice suggestion, and easy enough to hunt down. Eziya stood from her spot next to Serr, placing a kiss atop his head before wandering over near the fireplace where a large stack if blankets rested. She rustled through the bunch careful not to send the whole basket toppling over until she found one big enough to cover the two of them. She thought to return with blanket immediately in hand, but instead turned to let it rest near the fire close enough to warm but not enough to set it ablaze before bringing it back over to the table. "Hopefully this will be cozy enough for you," Eziya smiled, wrapping the warmed blanket around the two of them and snuggling close. "Maybe the troupe will play some music or something. If not that's also fine. I'm just happy being warm and comfortable with you."

He watched Eziya venture toward the fire, not quite sure what she was doing until she picked up a blanket. Everything made sense again for a moment, but then she kept wandering instead of returning to him and he was lost once more. When she came back with a much toastier blanket, Serr's smile returned. "Genius. Thank you." Their tent for two was perfect. He did miss this. He hadn't realized how much. As if she had heard Eziya's comment, one of the quieter members of the troupe went from idly plucking a soft set of scales to strumming a slow melody and several of her compatriots began joining in, two of them singing in counterpoint. Serr waved at a server walking past, touching Eziya's arm as he ordered for himself. "Can I get some sort of soup, if you have any?" He turned to Eziya. "Do you want anything?"

Eziya tucked herself against Serr's side with the blanket now cocooning them, only barely noticing that she was being addressed when the question of food came up. "Hm? Oh - soup and bread maybe. If that's okay?"Once the server wandered off to send in their order Eziya positioned herself so she could watch the little performance while the downpour continued outside. If not for the fact she was no expecting food to be brought she might have chanced a nap against Serr, but she was hungry enough to stay awake for it. A thought had been brewing in her mind ever since she'd had her discussion with Fiiadri, and being here reminded her of it once more. "What if we started traveling again? Like we used to. The kids are old enough now and well the shop and Fiia will always be there if we want to return?" She'd hope the suggestion didn't come off as random, or something that would cause more issue. Really it was more restless thought.
