Sitting on the kitchen table as she waited for either Liam or Aloysius to get home, she poured over some of the things the blond had gotten her to work with. She’d made some upgrades and repairs to older things in the home as well as making a few little buttons so she could access more things while not in her civilian glamour. By now the house was not only completely spotless but also a few additional bedrooms had been set up so she had her own room as well where she could work and sleep if she wanted to.

The only thing that bothered her now was the fact there wasn’t someone here more often. She’d gotten used to Liam being around and spoiling her while Aloysius was away. It was nice even if it had only happened because of something terrible. She’d seen, and heard, a lot of progress between the two of them in the past month though. At times it had been bothersome, hearing things while she was focusing on her work but the fact that Aloysius had been looking less hollowed out made up for it. She’d gone in after they’d gone to bed on a few occasions and curled up by the foot of the bed, enjoying the fact that sleep was coming peacefully to her musician for once.

The issue came with the fact that Liam was now cast free and working on returning to a level of normalcy, one that had brought with it some anxiety. The stable pattern that had been going on was broken and it had her slightly worried but it was worse for Aloysius and she had heard it on the nights that Liam went out. Nights that she found herself sliding back into her old role, curling up against them and trying to soothe the other's nightmares away.

Hopping down from the table, she moved to the couch and rested on one of the many nests of fabric Liam had spread across the house for her. Something else was brewing, she could feel it and if she was right, it would hopefully help ease her musician’s worries. It meant she could tinker with something worthwhile and maybe, just maybe, bargain her way into a trip to Mirrorspace.

Eyeing the door with her one good eye, she saw Liam before they saw her. The offer of fresh fish was too good to interrupt so, with a trill, she hopped up the back of the couch and made her way after them into the kitchen. Back on the table, she circled before hopping to the counter. “Did you have class today or did you go out on patrol?” Either way they were busy which was a good thing to be even if the latter had added risk.

Moving slightly closer, she bonked her head into him. It might look to him like she was just looking for attention but as she bonked him near his chest, she felt quite proud of her methods. Her idea seemed to be correct, now getting things moving was another matter altogether. “What kind of fish today? Maybe pan-seared salmon again? Or anything new and exotic, though not pufferfish.” Even if she wasn’t from here, she didn’t quite like the idea of testing her tolerance to toxins.

“I’m certain you did well, you studied harder than I feel like most others do though I’m not sure if that’s just because Aloysius has a soft hand with his own students.” She laughed a bit while rubbing her face into their hand. “If you’re not going out tonight can I maybe take a look at your henshin? I’ve been wanting to see what one for the dark mirror looked like compared to ones from the Negaverse. I can look over it while you’re cooking dinner, I think the first one sounds good.” She hadn’t heard of either but they looked good as she circled beneath his hand to get full-body pets.

“Speaking of Aloysius, he should be home a bit later. I think he has that late class this evening, the one that has the poor attendance rate. Music theory I think it’s called?” She knew only a bit about it since it wasn’t directly related to her goals of learning piano and working on things to help these two out. She’d wandered a bit and managed to aid a few senshi as well though she kept that at the workplace as it were. This was home and a place to watch over and offer a different kind of support.

“Maybe one day we should go surprise him, you know the way to the mirror in his office? I’ve also wanted to see mirror space as of late but didn’t want to bother things while you were injured. It could help him worry less about you while you are out if I tag along. I know you share those earrings but they only last for a short period. At least if I go, I can call for backup as well.”

“Well, I think it’s a good attitude to have, one about not slacking off. You’re almost there at least then you can have a bit of a rest.” Nodding a bit as she headbutted him again. “He’s always been a musician first so maybe that’s why.” Teaching had come after things, probably as a way to do something normal and quiet.

Sitting up as Liam went to go get his pen, she curled her tail around her paws. “Thank you, I’ve been thinking about doing something more related to senshi. Most of my tinkering has been mundane things but that doesn’t mean I don’t know a bit about other things.” In fact, she’d met quite a few corrupts and helped them in their own ways. More often than not it seemed that she was offering the kind of support she’d been doing for years for Aloysius but if anything she was good at that. She was there to listen and assuage any worries and offer advice or support as she could.

“Perfect, I wonder if I should go like this or as a civilian. I doubt there will be people in his office so it won’t matter but we can figure that out later. I think it’ll be a nice surprise for him after things have been a bit harder on him, don’t you?” Taking the pen in her mouth, she hopped up on top of the cabinets and turned so he couldn’t see what she was doing.

“The dark mirror seems less troubled, at least from what I have seen from the way Aloysius talks about things. Maybe in a precarious position but I think that can be said for most people in this city regardless of alignment. Maybe I’m also a bit jealous and curious since you brought Aloysius and I haven’t gotten to go.” Speaking a bit sadly as she worked on the pen, it wasn’t hard to do. It did work much the same as she’d figured the corrupt ones worked except she didn’t need a sovereign to step in to assist. At least she hoped her theory was correct, she wasn’t going to worry them just in case.

Watching them from above, she trilled. “Yes I look forward to both, I’m glad that you both cook decently. I think I’d be upset if I had to smell something on fire again.” It had only happened the one time while Aloysius had been cooking while severely intoxicated, he’d nodded off with the stove on and set dinner on fire. It had been resolved quickly but she remembered that burnt smell and hated the thought of it.

“I can do that then and once we are through you can power down and I can change if needed.” She liked moving around as a civilian, it gave her a new and interesting perspective on things even if she bumped into stuff from time to time due to her blindness. As the minutes passed and the smell of her dinner floated up to her, she finished up her work, hopped back down, and set the pen back near Liam’s hand. It looked the same from the outside but she managed to tweak the thing a bit to work alongside what she’d felt in their starseed earlier.

“Looks like it’s done and it smells amazing.” Swishing her tail against the lower cabinets, she watched as they finished up with the cooking. “It also helps that you have Aloysius as well. He really does like the mirror court though, of course, you’re his favorite.” Purring as she spoke, it wasn’t so much a tease as just stating the truth. She knew of a few other mirror senshi that Aloysius both knew and allied himself with.

“Even if it might be boring for you, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to see things. Though with Aloysius bringing people in I wonder if maybe you might start doing the same. I could tag along and help out maybe? I would like to get out a bit more but it is a bit hard to navigate at times with only one eye.” Playing the pity card, she settled down and crossed her paws one over the other before resting her head on them as she looked up at Liam. Giving him a look that he probably couldn’t deny her requests.

She knew there was one of the mirror court that hadn’t really had a nice impression on Chalcanthite but that was a long time ago so she didn’t bring it up. The rest made sense because as much as it had helped Liam with being comfortable, she appreciated the fact that them all being chaos allowed for an openness that Aloysius had never really had.

Settling down in front of her plate, she tried the new fish out cautiously. It had a nice taste, quite different from what she was used to but it was up to her standards as high as they were after years of home-cooked meals. “Very good, I like this one and you really are getting better at cooking.” Not that they had been bad at it but she got the feeling their range was limited from their upbringing. There was only so much someone could make when ingredients were scarce.

“I can help with that, it would be a nice change of pace. I doubt Aloysius would bring me along yet, he’s probably still getting used to me being more than his support cat and doesn’t want me getting injured.” It made sense though she still wandered and had found herself getting into things from time to time without either of their knowledge.

“Maybe not tonight since we are going to surprise Aloysius but soon. At least empty white halls seem safer than a crystalline wasteland filled with creatures that would love to do nothing more than eat me for lunch.” She’d read more than enough entries on youma and the habits that Aloysius had noticed, each type sketched cleanly beside what could resemble a bestiary entry.

Moving forward she bumped her head against him again before rubbing her side against him. “I look forward to it and whatever you come up with. I’ve always eaten well since Aloysius let me in all those years ago but now there are more options.”

Everything done, she stretched up and put her paws on his shoulder to let him know she wanted him to carry her. “I’m ready to head out if you are. He’s going to be surprised to see us, I wonder what kind of face he’ll make.” She purred as she spoke, wondering if the change would happen after stepping through the mirror. In as a super and out as an eternal if the tinkering she’d done worked. It would ease her worries a bit because that would come with a bit more speed and strength to get away. She was also curious what he would look like powered up since she hadn’t seen them really out and about powered up much.

“Very good indeed.” Purring as he picked her up, she was glad that they’d pulled Aloysius out of the muck. The fact they were trying to keep her happy too was just a bonus when it came down to it. When they powered up, everything seemed the same so far. No changes in their signature or in their uniform, part of her wondered if she’d done the adjustments right but she couldn’t be sure until they passed through the mirror.

“I think he’ll enjoy it after the initial shock, if he could work from home I feel like he would just to be around you more often.” Though she was sure if they worked from home every surface would be covered in sheet music and there would be so many more strangers in the house learning to play piano or any of the stringed instruments that Aloysius taught. She knew the names but in her eyes, a lot of them looked the same.
