He was out and about in their Matori property, Dad had been sure to get a decent amount of room for all of his critters and for any fun projects his Mom had come up with. He had gone far enough into the rough part of the land that he was perhaps just a bit lost and may or may not at this point in his adventure be partially in someone elses yard after all.

Dad grew a lot of plants for some reason and Mordred had thought he had planted some all the way out here, they were used to feed the family and supplement some of the animals diet. But Mordred was pretty sure he had gone too far, he had just turned around to go back when a rather loud boom of thunder sounded what felt like right over his head. Now he wasn't normally a person that would spook but to have unexpected thunder right over him, it twanged some deep seated instinctual nerve and he was off like a shot in whatever direction seemed most prudent at the time and that happened to be the opposite of where he should have been going but well the brush was thick and the lightning close and the thunder loud.

About the moment he picked a direction and hit full send, the rain started and he was running through the bush blind, yelling up into the thunder like a crazy person. Where were his parents when he needed them? They had just been sitting down to lunch when he up and disapeared....having snuck bits and bobs of food before sneaking out again during the meal prep. He loved doing that for some reason and often he chose to eat alone with his spoils. He still had some food on him thankfully that might come in handy later when he had calmed down some and wasn't being storm chased all over their matorian land mass. Up ahead he saw that a bunch of trees had fallen over a while ago in a mass and underneath their cross trunks and sheltering branches there seemed to be some dry shelter and that beat the heck out of whatever it was he was currently standing in so off he went to plead shelter from long fallen giants.
Matori trees didn't get quite as big as Jauhar trees but they did give it a good go with all of that tropical sunshine. Mordred slid under the log jam and heaved a sigh of relief at having found some shelter and it seemed all to himself too. This was most excellent.

He stood there a while looking out at the storm when another youngling this one obviously a fire and water hybrid scooted down the hole next to him. She squawked a bit when she noticed him.
"You what are you doing here? This is our property!" He could tell that he had spooked her and he was sorry and hung his head. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to tresspass, the thunder boomed right over my head and I am ashamed to say that I panicked. We live on the border of your property over that way." He waved vaguely in the direction that he thought his home was. "Sadly with the rain like that I wouldn't be able to find my way back home without my parents." Stupid storm, it had come out of no where on the one day he decided to go a little further than normal. Why was it that every time he tried to do something nature somehow..or parents, got in his way. He had been out looking for Dads back garden and had lost himself in the process. Maybe there was no garden back there and Dad was just pulling his leg.

"After the storm is over, rest assured I will be out of your hair." The girl had the audacity to look a little hurt but she had gotten mad at him first. He wasn't going to apologize again after being here was not entirely his fault to begin with.

He was struggling with kids his own age, besides those of his family, maybe it took a daroch/duri to understand another family member and everyone else just happened to be a big old mystery.

"Well, so long as we are here, tell me more about yourself." She looked at him with huge red eyes, the dark fire skin, bluish waterling hair, speckles and the fire crystals in a nice yellow color. She was really pretty and had the same fin ears as most of the Ninyelts.
What was it with girls and always wanting to talk when you could sit awkwardly in blessed silence, but as he had little else to do they obliged each other and eventually he shared his food when the storm did not let up. Eventually his Dad found them and returned the girl to her house in the storm and brought his son back to where he was supposed to be. Youngling tracks were easy enough to track for a beast charmer.
