Vesuvianite really, really hoped he'd get promoted to Captain soon, but he doubted he would, with his constant failures. Sure, he was meeting energy quotas just fine—but starseed quotas? No. He was failing that so often he felt like it was hardly worth trying. It seemed like every time he turned around to try to snatch one, someone showed up to kick his a** and take it back from him. He gnashed his teeth together in irritation at the memories that swirled in his head, memories of being so thoroughly defeated— augh! He just wanted to prove himself to the Negaverse and get promoted, damnit. He still seemed so far from that... He just hoped that nobody came to rescue the civilian whose starseed he was currently plundering. Some drunken idiot or another, Vesuvianiate didn't really care, as long as he won for once.

Madriu really felt like he was starting to get settled on this planet. He understood the way that the Chaos here worked, to some extent, even if not perfectly; knew how they behaved, that they were people corrupted, and that they could do a lot of harm.
So when he felt one of those awful auras, he turned towards it. Prowled, like he was hunting an animal.
(Like he was exactly the vicious predator he'd always been told he was.)
He could have gone for words, when he saw the Lieutenant with his hand in the civilian's chest, but really? He didn't see the point. Anyone willing to rip a starseed wasn't worth talking to.
Like a wolf on the hunt, he lunged, coming at the Lieutenant from the side and hoping to knock him away from his prey.

As usual, his hopes and dreams were utterly crushed. Damn it all, why was it so damn impossible to make this fight for the life of Earth?! It seemed everywhere he turned, the Negaverse was just flat-out outnumbered by all these "White Moon" Senshi who wanted to take over the planet. Well, he wouldn't stand for it. Even as he was knocked away from the civilian, losing his grasp on the starseed, he swung his stupid little plastic chisel at the creepy wolfy alien senshi with his other hand as he stumbled and started to fall over.

The weird little weapon smacked into him, but it certainly wasn't enough to deter Madriu from leaning his weight in and aiming to pin the Lieutenant to the ground underneath him. His ears pinned back, and he snarled, low and predatory.
"Leave. Go home. Leave these people alone. Or I'll rip your throat out."
He probably wouldn't actually. But, all things considered, maybe that was the necessary solution. Maybe these Chaos-infested people needed to die. Maybe that would fix whatever was wrong with this world.
Maybe if there had been people like this on his homeworld, and he'd killed them like he killed Eithian, he would have been able to save everyone else.

Vesuvianite's anger melted away, shifted, resolidified into sheer and utter panic and fear as the wild, feral wolf senshi before him held him down, pinned him in a way that, in probably any other context, would have had him red in the face for a very different reason, and frankly, he counted himself lucky that that wasn't causing issues down south regardless. He gasped, freezing up, as if that would help anything. Then a thought occured to him, and he figured—well, it couldn't hurt to try that? It seemed to work in movies sometimes, after all, and shocking the enemy was a good way to get the upper hand... "That's kinda hot," he wheezed.

Madriu could hear the sound of the civilian staggering up--he sounded drunkenly unsteady, but at least he was present enough to realize that he needed to get gone. That was good; it meant Madriu didn't have to worry about babysitting some drunk idiot with no powers, and hopefully he wrote the wolf ears off as some kind of drunken hallucination or something. So that was enough.
Which meant he could focus on the threat in front of him--a threat that was apparently not taking him seriously at all.
There was something about the way he said that--the salaciousness of it all--that made Madriu's ears pin back and his hackles raise. It felt far, far too familiar--sounded like a voice he'd silenced centuries ago. One he never, ever wanted to think about again.
"Shut. Your ********. Mouth."

Vesuvianite glanced over at the noise and tried not to make a dumb face. Ugh, of course, the stupid civilian was getting away, and here he was, playing stupid mind games with an alien who probably wanted to use the very planet Vesuvianite had been born on for his own purposes, to steal Earth's energy for his own stupid dead planet that nobody cared about because they were all dead! "Yeah, don't think so," he sniped. "Now, get off!"

Madriu narrowed his eyes. "If I let you up, are you going to go after that civilian again? Steal his soul for whatever ******** purpose you Chaos monsters use them for? Because I won't let you do that."
He wasn't going to let Chaos hurt someone else. He hadn't been able to protect his own people--he needed to be able to protect the people of earth, especially from creeps who thought that flirting or...what the ******** ever that had been was an acceptable way to interact with a stranger who was also an enemy.
Ugh, it made Madriu feel gross, in a way that all the diving in trash and sleeping in an abandoned house hadn't managed to.

Vesuvianite wished he could just say no to the senshi before him and be believed. He hoped, actually, because he really didn't want to play around with this crap anymore tonight. He was tired, he wanted to go home, and be angry in peace to calm down while doing a mosaic. Couldn't handle broken glass while angry, after all. "I promise," he said quietly. "I'd just rather go home right now, thanks."

Madriu took a breath. He stood up, moving off the Lieutenant to let him go, and took a step back.
"Fine. Then go. Quickly, before I change my mind."
As if he could. As if he particularly wanted to.
Ugh. Everything felt miserable, and Madriu really, really wanted to go home. Not to his little abandoned house that he'd made into a nest--home, to his grandmother and his siblings and most especially to Anthy.
A home he couldn't return to anymore.
