Camelot could not say this was the best he had ever felt.
It was fairly low on the list of good feelings, in fact. Considering he had been thrown from a roof following a violent battle with one of his long time enemies, it was no surprise. An enemy he had, in fact, thought he had already killed. To be defeated by a ghost in such a humbling way was enough to set him back a few paces.
But there was no time to sit around and feel bad for himself. No time to think about what had led to his defeat. Instead, he had to keep soldiering forward. For himself, for other knights, and all those that relied on him. Except Carlisle. Carlisle insisted he call it quits for a little while, and recover with some overdue rest, but Camelot could hardly justify that within himself.
Instead, he powered up. He stood by the library, his established patrol area, and he waited for those that needed him to come to find him. If they didn't, then he would go out and patrol on his own, and look for any knight signature he could find, to gather information, and see if they were doing okay with these oddities.
He did think maybe he should bring a chair or something. Even if he wasn't standing on the roof, but rather the landing in front of the library's broad doors, he was still hurting. It was times like this that he almost missed his cane.
Almost. Though he did wonder if he could find it at home and use it to lean on... but for now, he would simply ignore the pain and focus on the auras around him.

Newgrange did not have as much time in the evening as he used to have. It was more than just waking up early for the bakery, he had a family to tend to. It helped that they were all powered, so some of their evenings could be spent together in that way, even if Whisler and Starlight were closer.
Tonight, everyone had plans but Arias. He was supposed to be busy but plans fell through.
What was supposed to be a normal patrol had already taken a toll on him, and for the fourth time that evening he wondered if he was just rusty or if he’d offended Newgrange to the point of rebellion.
His weapon was half the length it should have been, and when he dismissed and resummoned it, the leather looked as though it was twice as old as he remembered.
It seemed as if it would function, if need be, so he was taking his changes despite the odd hum in the back of his mind–a perpetual nagging that something was off.
He was glad that of all the people he could have run into tonight, it was a Knight–and one he recognized, after a brief moment of summoning his thoughts.
“Camelot,” he greeted, surprised but glad. He hadn’t been able to see him from around the brick of the building until he was nearly on top of the aura.
He had memories of an artificial future, or a dream that had been too realistic, but he remembered most clearly that he’d met Camelot before he’d ever even awakened as a Knight.
Promptly, he extended his hand in greeting. “Sorry. We met once, a long time ago. I wasn’t yet a Knight. For a long while, I thought you were just a dream. It’s good to see you.”
Even if he looked tired. A friendly face was more than welcome, though.

Camelot smiled at the offered hand nodded his head in greeting, shaking it heartily. He believed in a firm handshake, after all, but he was so practiced in it these days he hardly thought about how important it was any more. A good introduction set the tone for the rest of the meeting, after all, though maybe he was thinking too much of the business side of his day to day life.
Things were a little different, once he put the cape on. Which, now that he was actively thinking about it, was one way he would try to expressly avoid describing it as in the future, even to himself. Even if it was exactly the same work as any other caped crusader, Camelot liked to think his armor meant more than a cowl in a comic book might.
But then again, who was he to judge? He was the one in a cape that evening.
With an aching back and broken ribs.
"We did? That's amazing! I'm glad to see you like this, now, then! Well. Maybe not JUST right now, considering everything, but ah. That's nothing to do with you." He frowned, realizing that talking was just as important as a handshake when meeting someone. Actually, it was probably moreso, and he had always been a bit of a rambler.
He offered a sheepish grin, making a vague gesture to the nothing around them, which did nothing to articulate his point any better. But he had a very warm smile and a gentle demeanor, immediately relaxed and yet somehow managing to exude a power that came from more than his aura.
"How is your evening going?"

As Camelot presented a firm handshake, so too did Newgrange.
Naturally, his words were curious and Newgrange couldn’t help but wonder what he meant. “Considering everything?” he prompted. His curiosity did not justify prying, so as their handshake broke, he offered a friendly smile and took a step back to offer some breathing room. He didn’t want to pressure Camelot to answer a question if there was some discomfort in the answer, so he wanted to leave ample opportunity to sidestep it all together.
“I hope I’m not too out of the loop with everything. My evening is all right. Not so good, not so bad. Somewhere in the middle.”
Good, mostly, except for the state of his weapon but it hadn’t done that before and it was easier to assume it was him that was the problem than anything else. “You?”
