Near the edge of the city, some of the parks grew especially sprawling and less well-tended than the picture perfect community space that existed closer to the city center. As far as city spaces went, these were the ones that felt closest to home. Not that Brassite missed home, of course! She made her decision to come here and she wasn't gonna crybaby 'bout it, at least not all the much. But still, some nights she just needed to be in these sorts of wilder, more secretive places. To take big breaths and get real small in the face of the Great Big Everything of the World. An overgrown park at the edge of Destiny City wasn't exactly national park material, but neither was Dunstan, Florida. Even so, there was the taste of dirt and the green growing things in the air. The landscape was thick with trees and rocks that didn't give a s**t about her and wouldn't give a s**t about her a hundred years from now, so it was good enough. As she bent close to inspect whatever had been carved into a tree, the boy at her feet groaned a bit. Almost absently, she reached down to pat his head and drain whatever lingering energy the guy was still trying to summon up. She shouldn't have tried going light on him earlier if it meant waking up this soon. "I love.. .Jeezy? Jesus?" She squinted at the carved writing under the moonlight. "Whoever wrote this really didn't commit, did they? Only a scumbag would write I instead of their own name."

Destiny City was far larger than Cernunnos had expected, but it still had its limits. Slowly, the boy was exploring them, seeing how far the strange, boxy buildings went and what was on the other side.
He couldn't say which area he felt more comfortable in... hanging out on top of those buildings, or wandering in the more natural parts inside and outside of the city limits. Forests and meadows were not something he had spent much time in, before he came here, save for the very carefully and artfully crafted gardens and parks around his temple. But... the buildings here were weird and sterile, full of strange and alien people.
This woodsy area was just another weird place and he'd been about to head back to Hati's house when he'd felt that awful, deep feeling that meant... someone with chaos in them was nearby. Way out here? Why? There wasn't anything out here that anyone would want... just a lot dirt and bugs and rocks. That question drove him closer and he approached cautiously, keeping something of what he considered a safe distance until he finally found the source of that icky feeling.
Ah... it was a girl. Young, as much as he could tell in Earth people. Garishly orange hair... And... was that a man on the ground beside her.
"What are you doing?" He called out, half behind a large tree and across the clearing from her. It was the only way he felt comfortable making any sort of contact with this stranger... and only because his curiosity wouldn't let him walk away without knowing.

Hmmmmm...that squeaky, irritating feeling was a senshi, right? Brassite scanned the area until a head popped out from behind a tree to question her. Well, at least they just seemed curious instead of all accusatory at her. Willing to be friendly for the moment, she answered honestly, "Trying to figure out all the couples that carved their names on this tree. It looks like this has been some sorta secret make-out tree for ages. And uh..." She nudged the guy on the ground with her toe, "This guy was annoying, so I drained him." Looking back toward the half hidden senshi, she noticed some uh... extras."Are you like...a White Moon youma?"

Okay well, she didn't seem aggressive, which was all to the good. Cernunnos relaxed marginally and let his shoulder lean into the tree, his pale head tilted as he considered this stranger.
No idea why people would carve their names into a tree... but graffiti must be universal in the truest sense. Some of the buildings in the less affluent areas of this city had names painted on them, just like there had been on his world. Not that anyone had been aware he knew about that, or that he'd sometimes snuck out to explore alone, back in the days where everything had been normal.
The man on the ground got a glance from him. Annoying? Maybe not the worst reason to have drained someone. Made a sort of sense... Hati had explained it was something the Negaverse did, which put this girl firmly in that camp, and if you had to do it anyway, might as well do it to annoying people, right?
"I don't think so." He said, head tilted. "They said youma were monsters who attacked people and worked with agents like you. I don't work with anybody, and I don't make it a point to attack anyone. Opposite, in fact."
It was interesting that she seemed willing to talk... maybe he could get more information out of her than what Hati had been able to provide.
"Why'd you join the Negaverse? I heard you hurt people. Do you like doing that? Or was there some other reason? Not..." He said, holding up a slender finger. "That I care if you do or don't. But I'm kinda new here, and I've got a lot to catch up on, you know?"

He didn't think so? Weird to not know! Was he one of the space aliens they were supposed to play nicey with? Nah, this was definitely a squeaky White Moon aura. Oh man, was he like an alien alien White Moon boy? She was pretty sure she'd heard about them (and dismissed the accounts as just like, really fancy costuming.) Leaning against her own tree, the lieutenant crossed her arms and considered the question. Was this like, where she was supposed to try and convince him to corrupt and whatever? Ugh, that seemed like way too much responsibility toward a stranger. And then he'd like, represent her. Well, guess that meant she'd just have to talk about herself and give him her really excellent opinions then, huh? Gosh!"I joined 'cause there's a lotta bad people running around in this world, and they'll get to keep running around and ruining the lives of everyone around them. Most people...most humans, aren't even up to a fight, let alone actually getting rid of the problem, 'specially when that problem happens to be another person." She spread her arms and gestured to herself, "But I'm not most people. So when the Negaverse was like, 'Hey girl, you wanna have the power to get rid of these assholes stinkin' up the place?' I was like, 'Hell yeah!'" She began to preen a little where she stood, "Sometimes you gotta be the change you want to see in the world. A wise dead guy once said that, his name was Abraham Lincoln." Wow not only was she giving him the lowdown on herself, but she was also giving him enlightenment and a history lesson. Maybe she should be charging for this? "So what's your deal? Why are you new? Are you like from..." she flapped her hand toward the sky.

A frown creased his forehead and Cernunnos felt himself... struggling with what this girl was telling him.
Wasn't the Negaverse the bad guys? Why would you join the bad guys... to fight more bad people? Her reasons were altruistic, though not anything he personally wanted to do, but something other people would praise her for. Except, again... It just didn't make sense.
Still frowning, he nodded slowly. "Yeah... I was on my world when I woke up. But then I felt this.. tugging, inside of me. And I ended up here. Which I guess is better than being on my world, because there was a lot of bad stuff happening there, but it also wasn't really intentional... and I'd go back if I could."
"If... you have power, that normal people don't have..." He said slowly, trying to feel his way through this thought. "Then you're stronger than that guy, right? But you drained his energy just for being annoying... I guess I'm not an expert or anything, but isn't that what a bully does? So if you're supposed to be fighting the bad guys, then what are the bad guys like...?"
Obviously, worse than her, but... A lot of what she was saying still didn't make a lot of sense. If you wanted to be the good guy, shouldn't you be the good guy? And everyone seemed to agree that hurting people did not make you the good guy.

" Holy s**t, you were really just on your own world? But the Earth like, summoned you?" That was pretty wild, even considering her own special sorta night life as of late. 'So there's no like, ET phone home, huh?" Did she feel a little bad for them? Yeah, it's not like they'd asked to become some kinda invasive species, right? "I'm a bad guy that fights bad guys! Sometimes it takes a bad guy like me to beat down a worse guy. 'Cause good guys get too caught up in being good rather than getting stuff done." Brassite announced all this proudly before nudging the guy's head. "This dude's still alive, okay? If he was bad enough to be like, dealt with? I'd have his starseed in my hand." Rocking back on her heels , the agent's voice lowered a little, turning more serious, "Badness is a bit of a spectrum, alright? I'm a little bad, but there's a lot worse out there. Did your world like...not have a lotta murderers and abusers and really ********' gross folk?" Whimsical Blue It's been a minute but I really like this conversation ok!

He shrugged uncomfortably as he shifted on his feet, long, soft ears pressed back against his pale hair.
"Something summoned me, but I don't know what it was. I guess Earth? But it didn't speak to me or anything. It was just a feeling. I've been just kinda trying to figure out all the weird stuff here and figure out how to do the normal stuff like... find food and places to sleep, so I haven't really tried all that hard to find a way back, but I don't know how I'd do it. Do your people have space ships?"
He'd never been off Cernunnos before, though he'd heard stories about the ships that sailed through space. Sometimes off-worlders had come to him, fascinating in their differences, but no one had been willing to let him anywhere near the idea of leaving his world.
Starseed? That term was familiar, but in a dim way... he'd always been told he'd been chosen for his position because he was the senshi of his world. That he'd been reborn countless times to serve and protect his people. The starseed had something to do with that... and other people had them too, it seemed. While he wasn't entirely sure what it all was, it made him a little uncomfortable that she could take this man's away.
"So because there are people who are more bad, it's okay to be a little bad?" Cernunnos ventured. He could sort of understand what she was saying, but there was a dissonance there. Yeah, sometimes doing the right thing might mean doing some not-good things, probably. There were limits he'd put on that, but he also wasn't any kind of a philosopher and thinking like that made his head hurt... and was pretty boring besides.
"We had people like that, yes. But I never got to meet any of them. Just heard stories. Is that what your bad people are like?" He paused for a moment, thoughts clicking together like magnets. "Is that what you think I'm like? Me and the other senshi? Because you're supposed to be fighting us, so I guess that means you think we're the worse guys?"
Did they tell her that he killed people? That he was an abuser, like she mentioned? He might have been a little bit selfish and childish in his life, as his attendants sometimes scolded him for, but he'd never done anything really bad, that he knew of. If anything, he'd spent a lot of time doing what other people wanted him to do, using his power to give them what they wanted. It sucked that he was getting lumped in with all the others if that was the case.

"So you got pulled over here by like, space magic. And then it just dumped you here without explanation and now you're homeless?" Brassite's voice, proud and and cheerful, a little aggressive, steadily began to soften. "That's sounds ********' awful, to be honest. And Earth isn't the easiest place to be without an ID and money. Even folks who were born here have a lot of trouble if they don't got those on hand." She wasn't gonna offer her home, of course. America Jhones wasn't a ********' charity. Plus the whole identity thing. But there was an undeniable urge to figure out a way to help. Ugh. "Our spaceships suck compared to anything you're familiar with," she admitted absently. "But there's like, magic and stuff? I guess? That gets people like you out and about in space." Brassite's face scrunched up at the idea that this guy was some sort of nefarious space invader set on stealing resources and yadda-yadda-yadda. She probably shouldn't start trashing on the really crappy propaganda pamphlet the negaverse hands out, and he didn't seem the type to even get what propaganda even was. So instead, Brassite answered with a shrug, "Naw, like, the only time I've tussled with a knight or senshi was when they bothered me while I was doing my job. Like I get why they may think I'm a bad guy? But I'm not gonna stop for them, they're not my boss and they can mind their own ********' business. But if they wanna fight, then I'll fight." She paused a moment, and then offered, "You know, even if you think it's made up of bad guys who hurt folks, the Negaverse takes really good care of its people. If you want a safe place to live, fresh meals, an Earth identity, and people who will tell you what's going on, maybe consider joining us. You wouldn't have to hurt people, either."

Join the Negaverse? It sounded nice, to have all those things she mentioned, but it also made him nervous. She'd been relatively nice, sure, but he'd also been attacked by one of their corrupted senshi, so he knew not everyone on her side was like her. Just like other senshi weren't probably not much like him either. And then there was all the things the other senshi had said about what the Negaverse did, and how they were hurting people. Even if she said he wouldn't have to hurt people... wasn't draining their energy hurting them? He'd rather not take the chance of getting into someone's hands where he wouldn't be able to protect himself if he needed to.
"I'm doing okay now... I met someone who took me in, so it's not as hard now. But everything on Earth is different than where I'm from. No one looks like me, the food is weird, I don't know anyone, and all your customs are strange." He shrugged, his thin shoulders lifting and falling.
"But my friends help me however they can, so at least I have that. I try not to get into it with people on your side... I don't like to fight. But I also haven't really gotten to talk to any of you, so this was a chance to do that. Oh. I'm Cernunnos. I forgot to say that before." He was very careful not to tell her his name was 'Wisteria', like he had with the other alien girl. That seemed like maybe something important.
