Silfi 1

The Disting celebration was both Silfi's favorite and most dreaded. It was a time of year where the Ild'vann celebrated the end of the long winter and it was done in the land of their forbearers; the original site, high in on the mountainside. There had always been a solemnness to the climb that her mother said reminded the soul of it's roots, and over the journey the younger members were meant to reflect on the life given to them. Once they ascended to the site itself the tribe would clear away the snow, the ice and muck to make way for a beautiful celebration. This year Yngvara had gone up months in advance with a hunting party of her own, to live through the winter as their mother had, and when Silfi saw her she couldn't help smiling.

More so because this year her brother hadn't made the climb and while she understood why, watching the shift in her sister's face had been hard. So, when Yngvara asked after him, Silfi made the suggestion to take the celebration to Ziya. They could detour on their way home and spend some time with him. And now, since they were close enough to see familiar buildings and hear the sounds, Silfi couldn't help feeling this was the best course of action.

[Yngvara 1]

Yngvara was exhausted. When she decided to climb the mountain it was in the face of her mother's warnings, but since the woman had never told her outright not to she'd gone. Their group were among the more experienced hunters the Ild'vann had to offer and so far the winters had been mild so she wasn't concerned; not like she should have been. Winters closer to Zidel could be harsh, but they were mild compared to what she lived through and it was a wonder any of them had survived.

By the time the Ild'vann crested the hill for the Disting celebration her group had been worn thin (quite literally), but there was pride in it. When Sylvirah had passed her, placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder with that glint in her eye, Yngvara knew she'd made it. And then...Ziya wasn't there. He had a life of his own to live, that much she knew, and staying with family wasn't a terrible thing, but...Well, maybe she'd been a little too excited to head to the sanctuary. And maybe, just maybe, Yngvara's thin, sharp face was looking about to see any sight of him.

While Talisia had been nervous to serve as mentor to another beast tamer, the experience was actually less stressful than she had originally anticipated. Despite his playful habits, Ziya was actually an adept student who listened and picked up quickly when it came to learning about the various healing methods used for injured animals. It didn't take much to get him to help and if anything she had to push him away to rest on occasion instead of constantly shadowing her around the animal sanctuary as she tended to the beasts there. And Talisia had learned a bit from him, picking up the language of the village more and learning about their own hunting techniques that they trained their familiars with. It was a different reality from the one she had grown up in, Talisia never having to hunt before and opting to avoid such things while Ziya easily skinned any prey that was necessary for the sanctuary. And at times he would talk about things with Revna listening nearby, the pair sharing some stories of home while they spent the evenings together with Talisia and their cousins. They had recently spoken about a Disting celebration, the pair actually looking a bit downfallen about missing such an event and causing Talisia to wonder about what she could do to help perk them up.

And so they had taken to flying for the day. Revna had bonded with one of the young chiavi who had hatched here a season ago, the pair learning how to work together as they swooped over the cliffs at the western edges of the sanctuary. Talisia stayed with Yukiyo, her kinfa a rare sight in Zena. Thankfully the larger bird was comfortable enough especially on a warm day like this when it truly felt like the chill of winter was over with the changing seasons, and it was the best time to go and stretch her wings with the group.

Polaris easily swooped down along the air currents, Revna actually letting out a laugh as she held onto the chiavi and pressed forward. The young bird was a dusty blue color with white speckles, the largest cluster of white feathers reminding her of the bright northern star that spread across the bird's chest. It was why she had named him Polaris in the first place, the chiavi's bright personality only helping to prove the name was perfect for him.

However, her flight was abruptly halted as she flew past her brother and tugged back at Polaris to stop him. "Ziya! Do you see that?" She called out, pointing towards the figures in the distance. Who was visiting now?

It was tough not being home to celebrate with the others. Still, Ziya knew that he wanted to focus on his training with Talisia so that he could return home as quickly as possible. If he skipped even a moment here then that would mean another few months delayed before he could return home and start truly helping with the village, the tamer wanting to help raise familiars for the next generation of hunters. He just wished that he had been better at hiding his feelings, Ziya fully understanding that Talisia had taken them out today to try to shake off the lingering guilt as he thought about his family who had gone without him this year.

At least he had Revna. Originally he had thought his younger sister would be basically non-existent once they arrived at the sanctuary but she had surprised him by hanging around a bit more than expected, even sharing stories with him as they told Talisia more about their home and childhood. Despite everything it had been nice to reflect on things together and to learn more about their father's family. But it would be a lie to say that there wasn't a bit of excitement when he recognized the figures in the distance, Ziya urging Støv forward so that he could greet his sisters.

Silfi 2

While they'd flown most of the way down the mountain, the weight of two souls atop one chiavi was exhausting, so once the terrain became more favorable the sisters had decided to walk. Occasionally Silfi she would see Yuli's dark form disappearing between the clouds, but on the whole the darker chiavi chose to keep up from a distance. Honestly she wished he was just a little bit bigger so they could have kept riding instead of all this walking -

A rumbling noise to her right caused Silfi to turn. Sterjne had slowed to a near halt, her massive form curling to her mistresses side while her eyes looked to the sky above. Assuming it was Yuli again, doing his best to antagonize the sermal, she looked up and instead saw new shapes. Familiar shapes!

"HEY!" Silfi laughed and waved her arms, as if they weren't impossibly visible against the lighter landscape.

Yngvara 2

Reaching down, the huntress placed a hand ontop of Sterjne's back to calm her before turning her gaze skyward. Yuli was indeed around, but instead of dipping low to mess with them he was cautiously getting closer to the aerial riders, flying a bit closer to Støv and steering clear of the kinfa and other chiavi.

When Silfi started to wave she lifted a hand as well to call out, "Lag en løkke; gjør det morsomt." And, just to emphasis it, she started to make little circles with her finger.

Talisia squinted from where she was perched on the cliff with Yukiyo. The kinfa had fluffed up as the other rides took off and it made the hybrid wary. Had someone approached? Hmm? She blinked in confusion before smiling as she had a feeling when she saw the reactions from the others. They weren't fleeing and with that yelling it looked like someone that they knew. I'm really going to have to open up the guest house at this point. She thought with a laugh before urging Yukiyo into the air, the pale pink and violet kinfa taking to the skies after the others so that Talisia could join them.

It was them! Normally Revna would have scoffed at Silfi but after not seeing her sister for weeks the girl had softened a bit towards her. It wasn't that horrible seeing family now, right? A small smile crossed her lips as she picked up pieces of Yngvara's words, the message made more clear through the gesture than what they did manage to hear through the gusts of wind. She wanted some fun? Alright then! Revna was more than eager to show off, especially now that she had picked up a mount of her own.

"Let's go Polaris!" The teen leaned forward, the chiavi diving forward before swooping up again in a series of twists and turns.

While Ziya had not expected to see his sisters today, the sight was a much welcomed one. While Silfi waved, he raised his own arm in greeting with his expression brightening as he noticed Yngvara's movements. Did she really? Should they? He wanted to ask but already Revna was in action, her chiavi swooping up in the air and enticing Ziya to move. Grinning, he looked behind them first and waved towards Talisia before urging Støv forward to do some twists of his own. Eventually though the chiavi had enough of his fun and while Revna did a few more loops, Ziya landed near his sisters and leaned over to study them.

"Heisann!" He greeted with a chuckle before finally dismounting. "Was that good enough? What brings you two all this way?"

Silfi 3

Since when did Revna have a chiavi?! She watched her sister with no small amount of jealousy, but it couldn't stop the smile that took over her face. Regardless of her own personal feelings there was no denying the joyous noises she could pick up on through the wind and Silfi was truly happy for the other girl.

Especially when she started to do tricks. At times Silfi would cover her mouth, worry replacing the joy in her heart, but when Revna pulled out of it she would cheer and jump up.

Yngvara 3

As cautious as Yuli was, the young chiavi couldn't hold back his curiosity. Even if he kept a wide berth he occasionally came in closer to the kinfa, more wary of the unfamiliar creature than it's rider. At least, until a familiar set of whistles and clicks caught his attention. Soon enough he was swooping down to land just behind Yngvara.

Sterjne, however, made her distaste of the group clear with an irritated rumble before stalking off to quieter grounds.

"Silfi told me you were here so I came." It was as simple as that. Nearly half a year had already gone without seeing her big brother and Yngvara was impatient. "Seems like you're both doing well." She nodded up towards Revna, and then, turned her head toward Talisia, "You're working with her?"

Talisia watched the gathering, only slightly shaking her head at the antics of her younger cousins, and decided to give them a moment together before landing. And so she carefully kept Yukiyo at a distance, the hybrid's cautious as the young Chiavi came close but then the whistles brought him back down with the others. I recognize a few of those. Thanks to Ziya's own lessons the hybrid was fairly familiar with the calls, watching as the bird landed behind Yngvara.

"Alright, let's start slowly descending." She whispered to her kinfa, gently nudging her so that she circled downwards to land at a distance. Something which the bird was more than happy to do considering how the appearance of so many unknown creatures, including a sermal, made her wary.

Landing with Polaris, Revna carefully dismounted and gave the chiavi a friendly pat before turning to face her sisters. "Of course." She nodded towards them and acknowledged that she was doing well here with Ziya, before studying them both. They seemed to be doing alright as well. Of course she was doing even better considering she had a chiavi at her side in comparison to Silfi, the little bit of pride making her golden gaze gleam, but Revna wasn't about to rub the fact in her sister's face....at least in the moment. It was nice to see them, but even better knowing that she could show off a bit like she had. The rush of flying was still written all over her expression, her cheeks flushed and her braided hair a bit of a mess from how reckless she had just been with all of those tricks.

Ah, Sterjne hadn't even given them a chance. Ziya let out a soft chuckle of amusement, not worried about the sermal as much as he was just happy to see his sisters. "Still, it was a bit of a detour. I'm happy that you decided to come though." Ziya replied as he walked up next to them. "Are you meaning to stay long? I'm sure Tally won't mind." He raised a brow before nodding at Yngvara's question. He could only hope that she was alright with his decision and that she could warm up to Talisia more, especially if they stayed for a visit. "I am. She's been a great mentor when it comes to tending to injured animals, it'll be a great help if any of the hunters come back with injured mounts in the future." Or even if a roati got sick since they had herds in the fields back home now. There was so much that Ziya was learning and studying, the time away from home had truly been worth it despite his earlier hesitation to leave.

"As it is we have been well. What about you?" Ziya asked quietly as he looked over both of his sisters. "Have things been well up north?"
