He stepped out into the evening, wrapping 'general' around him like his greatcoat, sucking in a deep lungful of the city air and then walking. There was always a chance when doing this, that he'd run into someone who knew him, knew what he was, but there was a chance too that they might be a fresher face, might be willing to talk.

Or, perhaps the best option, though he could just as easily have ushered forth as a civilian to do this, perhaps, it would be a quiet evening where in he could just observe, and feel the energy of other's moving at the fringes of his perception.

Perhaps that was why he headed for the park. He made his way to an old and familiar bench, fresh paint long since applied from when he was last there. The Daisies and paper cups of the past long since religated to garbage bins and recycling.

He took a seat and sighed, leaning back to tip his head to the sky for a long moment, just taking in the air, tempted even to pull his mask down though he so seldom did, out of anticipation of using his own weapons.

He -felt- the presence of an eternal before he could see her, stayed with his head tilted back skyward like he were tired and vulnerable, curious how this would go.

Her feet ached, as they always did when she patrolled, but Cybele walked anyway. Her face was set, her eyes focused. She wouldn't let her old scars and the Negaverse's attempts to cripple her hold her back. She'd let her loved ones fuss over her and tell her to take care of herself later.

For now she just needed to make sure the city was safe.

Lately, since the games she'd hosted on her world, things had been thankfully quiet. There had been youma here and there, but nothing that a blow or two from an Eternal couldn't handle.

Tonight, though, there was something different. Something stronger.

It was a General's aura, and she turned towards it as fast as her scarred feet would take her.

She wondered who she'd find. Faustite? Jet? That one in the pale blue who had killed a senshi in front of her while she'd stood there helpless?

Stepping through some trees and towards a park bench, she saw blue, but it was a different uniform, and a different face, one mostly covered by a mask.

Her expression was even as she regarded him, one hand on her hip. She was, of course, wary of generals, but she saw no reason to be aggressive. Not yet.

"Good evening," she said cooly.

"It is so far." He replied, for a long moment not turning to face her. "I suppose it will depend on what you do with it, that will see if it continues that way." Then he turned to glance towards her, pale, pale blue eyes, a scar running up from beneath the mask, a tired expression in so much of it could be read.

"I don't believe I know you, My name is Zinkenite, or... Zink apparently, I have tea, if you're going to be civil, if not... then I'm keeping it for myself, though I know that's rather rude of me."

He lifted a Thermos, antiquated with a faded plaid print and lidded with its own plastic cup.

"I'm not attacking if you aren't..." He added, "I'm not, as some like to say, 'A monster'. Unless you count that I didn't bring biscuits to go with the tea."

"Tea?" Cybele glanced at the thermos, one eyebrow raised a quarter inch, and then shook her head. "No thank you."

She doubted it was poisoned, but there was something about it that felt toxic all the same. It reminded her of the fresh cookies that Axinite always had in his office, or of the candies that Sylvite had always brought to their meetings. The Negaverse had all of their small niceties to cover up everything that was rotten and awful about them underneath.

"I can be civil, though." She made no move towards him, one way or another. Instead, she stood watching him. "I understand what you mean. I might have a bit of a reputation of being a monster, too, but I try not to fight unless it's warranted."

It was just that when it was warranted, she had no problem going for blood and the kill.

"My name is Cybele," she told him, and watched for a reaction. He was a stranger, but plenty of people knew that she'd been in the Negaverse, or that she was a Princess.

He paused for a moment, looking thoughtful. "Sounds, familiar." He murmured as he looked at her more intently. "You must have quite the reputation." Still, he did look perhaps a hair more cautious, like a cat carefully walking a ledge over deep water.

"Shame about the tea, though; I rather hoped it would be like the old days, and someone would share with me." He murmured, reminiscing.
"It sounds like we have something in common in regards to fighting - I find talking helps bring people around, much better than trying to knock teeth in or scamper around rooftops destroying public property. Are the Senshi still recruiting grade schoolers? I understand you've brought in aliens in the most current sense of the word, too. Being from dead planets wasn't enough?"

"You think you can bring me around?" she asked, glancing at his thermos.

She couldn't tell how much her knew. Destroying public property? Was that about the bank?

She also wasn't sure how much she knew. Zinkenite. The name sounded familiar, like maybe she'd heard it in passing, but she couldn't put the pieces together as to where.

"My planet is doing fine at the moment, actually," she said, and she smiled softly for the small transcendence mark that was now on her chest. "And I can't say that it's Order's fault that some worlds are so full of Chaos that their senshi have nowhere else to go."

"But if we're talking about what the other faction is doing wrong, then where should I start? Starseeds?"

"Ah yes, I forgot how many alien worlds we'd invaded," he replied dryly. "Unless Chaos just stands for anything where things don't fit your narrative and there are consequences?"

"Hmmm... the Wall the Zodiac made in space. I'm fairly sure that was civilians too, like star seeds, though, unlike the ones I've pulled in my lifetime, it wasn't traitors or terrorists." He let out a soft laugh.
"Are you going to try and woo -me- to YOUR side?" He asked her, genuinely curious.

"With no offense, I've little to no interest in losing myself to chase the -hope- that your site might be as justified as you seem to believe you are. I've seen someone utterly lost and broken from joining you." He shook his head, a sincere sadness and loss in those pale eyes.

He took a long breath and shifted on his seat to face her better.
"Star seeds, something we take to defend the world, an unfortunate necessity in the face of a war, a casualty that wouldn't be necessary were it not for this...war. Necessary, unlike children."

Honestly, Cybele had no idea what the Zodiac was, at least in relation to the war. She could have asked, she supposed, just as she could have explained that Chaos went deeper than Metallia, but she was quickly realizing that there was no point to it.

He was committed to his convictions, to Chaos, and Cybele only put in the effort to save those who were willing to save themselves.

"No. I won't try to woo you," she told him. "Your choices are yours to make, although I will tell you that my civility doesn't extend to those who choose Chaos time and time again."

It was a verbal warning. She stayed where she was.

"I'll also tell you that I lost myself when I joined you," she said, gaze somewhere far in the distance. "Or rather, when I was forced into your ranks. Although you'll also say that was justified, I'm guessing." They always did. "You'll say I'm a traitor, for finding my way back."

She took half a step forwards.

"I suppose you'll want my starseed."

"I suppose you'd like to kill me." he rebutted.
"And no, I rather dislike the idea of forced corruption, I don't call that justified, I call that asking for traitors. How much did you loose when you 'rejoined' order? Your civilian life whatever it had been? Whatever family you had, gone, a pretty sacrifice."

He shook his head and sighed. "I'll say you're a tractor but not an unexpected one; if you tried to force me to join you, count it likely that it wouldn't end well either. "I suppose you call it necessary that you recruit, what... 7-year-olds? Some of them at least are polite enough to join me for tea, and I understand their blind conviction when they have it. I understand when people choose the side they're convinced is right, time and time again... it doesn't mean I like it, but I understand it. What sort of war would it be if we didn't both have the utter conviction that our side was in the right and that our sacrifices were necessary."

Cybele considered this. "I don't think I would like to kill you, actually," she said. "You seem respectable. Convicted, like you said."

Misguided, to the point where she wasn't willing to try to work with him, but that happened sometimes.

"But if it comes to that, it comes to that." It was war. There were casualties.

"Most of it I lost when I was corrupted. My memory. My family. My identity. I was an Eternal already at that point. I wouldn't say coming back was easy. I was weakened for a while, down to Super, and there might have been more memories lost, too, although it's hard to," she waved a hand finally breaking the stillness, "remember. Still, it wasn't like I was throwing away my life."

Her face was cold.

"That was already gone."

It had been stolen from her.

"And if you cad about children, instead of heckling about chibis, you'd stop sending out youma so that children have to learn to defend themselves."

"If you cared about children you wouldn't turn them into solders." He rebutted. "I hear order can, what's your word for it, "Purify" Youma, if you're so worried about these children you're dragging into the fight, perhaps do more of that."
He wasn't sure if he'd wish that for a Youma though, they had already lost so much, to ask them to loose more in exchange for...

"And I'm sorry for your loss, I know what it is to come close to loosing myself, I can't imagine what it is to have chosen to give that up. A shame, it means your convictions must be very strong to have given up so much." He shook his head.

"Enough, another time perhaps... I'm tired and you're too interesting for me to be tired. Calm at least, misguided, but calm."

She mostly just killed the youma, especially now that she was able to do so permanently, but she didn't mention this. He'd made his convictions clear. She'd meant it when she said she didn't wish to argue with him.

"Another time, then," she told him.

She wondered, if he met her again, if he would still see her as calm.

That wasn't a description that she heard for herself very often. Yet, she did not see any immediate need to come to blows with him. At the same time, if might be dangerous for him to be so silver-tongued with those less experienced than she was.

There was a lot to think about.

With a deep nod, she headed off into the night.
