With the heavy tasks finished at Alsira, and the lighter ones had already passed onto the younger two Mystics Shiari and Dira. Aselia had taken the freedom, although momentary as it was, to head out and gather some herbs they were dwindling on in the stores back at the great tree. She knew other sisters were just as capable of going out and gathering the materials for the mystics. However Aselia was finding herself feeling more and more useless as of late, the girls really were taking on more chores and it was important that Aselia let them.

She had spent the majority of the day outside of Elzira's branches, wandering through Yael. She had gathered a fair amount of the various herbs she would need to take home to dry. Along the way home, Aselia had stumbled upon a small brook.

Welcoming the calming sound, Aselia deposited the overfull satchel beside her. Dipping her feet into the brook, feeling the cold water rush over her toes. Her shoulder had now healed, although a scar left to remind her of the incident. Her gaze turned towards Elzira, then to Aisha. Tears brimmed in her eyes. What if she had stayed longer with Rishima. What if she had listened to him instead of allowing her anger to consume her.

She could feel the shaking breath of her sorrow, the grief rippling across her shoulders. Her body slumping forward, the sobs escaped her. Large tears streaking her face, this may just be the best place for the older Mystic to allow herself to cry. It was her job to be strong for the younger girls. She couldn't show weakness around Elzira's children. Her mind surrendering to the consuming guilt of her actions.

Aselia wasn't as alone as she had thought however. The sounds in the distance had the Alkidike woman shifting, reaching towards her hip with one had. Intent on gripping her whip. An object that was not on her body. With her spare hand she quickly wiped eyes clear of the tears that lingered. Sniffling against the stuffy nose that always accompanied such powerful emotions.

"Who's there? Declare yourself." Aselia curtly shouted out. Her voice horse and cracking from the sobbing. Her tone indicating she was threatening, even though she really wasn't.

It had been a while since the battle with the great beast in the volcano, the land had become peaceful again. Well for the time being. There was then the discovery of the wounded and delirious Alkidike in the jungle. It had been one of those nights and it was a wonder that no other beasts had found them before he did. Sitting at a small desk in his tree house, Beowulf watched the birds outside the window. His gaze was one of a lazy person, eyes half lidded as his gaze was unfocused. Things were rolling through his mind. He wondered how the Alkidike was doing. Did she survive her injuries? Shaking his head, the boy looked towards something that laid on his bed. The bag laid half covering a large egg, sometimes there were sounds coming from within.

"Perhaps it is time to get you to your intended owner." He muttered putting away what he had been working on. Gathering up his normal thick bound tome and cloak, Beowulf pulled the fleece lined cloth up over the egg and latched the top securely.

It had taken him a bit to reach where it was, hours perhaps? Maybe a day? It was hard to tell as the jungle obscured the sky most the time letting only dappled lighting filter through. Shoving his hair from his eyes, the sounds of a brook caught his attention. Finally a place to rest, get something to drink perhaps? He wasn't sure where he was, but a water source was a good thing. As he made his way towards the water, picking his way through the thickets, his cloak got snagged on a branch.

"Oh for goodness sakes." He muttered, tugging on the cloth, he hadn't heard someone speaking from the brook side. "Let go of tha..." The cloth ripped as he pulled at the stubborn branch, tumbling through the rest of the thicket, he came to a halt not far from where Aselia was.

Laying curled up on the ground for the moment, his arms wrapped around the bundle to protect it from his tumble. His ears ringing a little as he had struck his head against the ground. He was surely in a vulnerable position to anyone's attacks..

The body of an earthing came rushing towards her. Unsettled by the event, Aselia was ready to take on a full offensive approach. Pausing as she hovered aggressively over the man's form. The tussle of hair and shape of his body was familiar to her. "Beowulf?"

Giving the man a good long stare, it took the Alkidike Mystic some time before she realized something was missing. Those strange objects he put over his eyes as most of the Yaeli earthlings did, were not on his face.

Giving a grunt of disapproval, Aselia looked up along the track marks in the ground left behind as he skidded down towards her. Shoving the herbs under his head Aselia rose to her feet a bit reluctant. She owed this strange man for what he had helped her with, this would not amount to the same level of repayment, but he had earned her respect and kindness in return.

Traveling up the path were Beowulf had come from Aselia searched the ground in the immediate vicinity. Nothing jumped out at her, about to give up her search, the woman lifted a final leaf to find the glint of the glass bounce off a sunbeam.

A large sigh escaped her, reaching out to pluck the spectacles from off the dirt pile. Cautious of any potential creatures that could be snoozing near by. Thankfully nothing was there. Inspecting the object for any sign of damages, Aselia was relieved to see nothing more than a build up of dirt. Rubbing it callously against her clothing to dislodge as much of the dirt as possible she steadily and carefully made her way back towards Beowulf.

"You pick awkward places." Aselia began, slowly lowering her body to kneel beside him. Reaching out to take hold of his hand to better transfer his glasses safely I to his own palms. "I do hope you carry a spare with you. For your eyes... right?"

Beowulf had heard a muted voice over the ringing in his ears as a shadow loomed over him. He didn't move, unsure as to who or what it was, only when he felt something being placed beneath his head did he open his eyes a smidge. He was beside the brook for sure, the flowing water was enough to let him know that the area was somewhat ok? Shifting a little, the ringing left his ears as the rustling of branches caught his attention. Sitting up and squinting a bit he noticed a much taller woman coming in his direction. The closer she got the clearer his vision was.

"It does seem that I can rarely meet people without tripping over myself." He chuckled, shifting the bundle in his lap. Peeping sounds coming from within as the bag started to mover, it seemed that the egg was going to start hatching at any time. "I have a couple extra pairs back home, I can see fairly well without them. But if I am working on things with finer details or far distances. They certainly do help." He nodded taking back his glasses. Shaking off what little dirt might have still be stuck between the glass and frames, he slid them back onto his nose.

"But I have been looking for you, Aselia." He did have to get a look at her again, she seemed a bit different since the last time they had met. Taller and wearing different clothing, but the markings were ones he couldn't forget. "I felt bad that I couldn't save your feathered friend. So..." He pulled back the top of his bad and revealed the starting to crack egg that laid within. "Talked to a local Kinfa breeder that lived on the south side of the volcano. They said that this one was almost ready to hatch, from the sounds coming from within and the crack. I would say that they were right."

Shuffling to his feet, Beowulf held out the bag with the egg still nestled within. Hoping that she wouldn't reject it. It had taken him a bit to find the breeder and agree upon a price for the egg.

Aselia wasn't quite sure if the comments of his coordination were meant to be a joke, or a self jab. So instead she refrained from showing emotion to prevent any hurt towards the earthling. Her eyes glanced curiously from the bundle in the Yeali's arms to his face. Listening to his comments about his ability to see, or more the lack there of. Giving a nod of understanding she watched him place the spectacles back on his face. She wanted to laugh, he looked strange with such things over his eyes.

Blinking twice the Alkidike was taken aback. "You've been looking for me? Why would... But I'm..." Puzzled Aselia's gaze narrowed on the man. Just what was he looking for her for? But he had answered that question just as quickly. "Popoie was a good bird." She muttered solemnly at the reminder of her friends loss. She didn't blame this earthling, it wasn't his fault that her companion had met a painful end.

Warily she kept her eyes on Beowulf's movements, hesitant on what he was about to do. Then upon the reveal of the egg, Aselia's entire attention shifted. Shaking her head back and forth in disbelief at the movements of the earthling man Aselia flushed. He was moving closer, and with this Kinfa egg!?

There was a soft tenderness in Aselia, the tenderness she usually only reserved for the younger mystics and newborn sprouts. Pulling her legs from a kneeling position, she organized them to create a small nest her hands reached out gently. Being careful not to jostle the large egg, as she didn't want to cause any harm to the hatchling inside. "You-you're really giving this to me?" Aselia whispered, a calm meekness took her while her hands worked to free the egg from the bag it was in. The bag would only be in the way and prevent the hatchling from breaking free of its shell.

No longer concerned about needing to come off as strong or powerful. Aselia's vulnerabilities were visible, she was aware of that, she was also keenly aware that Beowulf would mean her no harm. Not when an earthling had gone out of his way to acquire an egg for her. A single tear ran down her cheek.

"Thank you. How much do I owe you for this?"

Beowulf gave a dismissive wave as Aselia took the egg from him and he sat back against the ground once again. "You don't owe me anything. I just have some favors to do for the breeder." He says as if it's not that big of a deal. He didn't know the true strength of the connection of an animal companion. He knew that she had asked about the kinfa that had died back when he had found her wounded and bound within the jungle.

As it was, he was just happy to give her something that would fill a void that was the loss of her old companion. He figured that he would find his own eventually, probably something that could carry him around… On the ground, he did not want to be in the air… Even if his house was off the ground and strung between a couple of trees. It was a solid structure…

"It is the least I could do, after all that had happened. I am sure someone would do the same for me... Maybe..." He wasn't too sure about it, he had met another healer that he had become friends with, but they were just starting that friendship. This was far from a friendship, they had only met a couple times. Once in a volcanic cave, the other while one was injured and probably dying.

Beowulf gave a shrug from where he sat, minding to give Aselia some space as he too watched the egg. Wondering what sort of Kinfa would hatch from it. He had seen the parents, their bright colored were glorious and he wondered if this one would be just as bright.
