Looking at his phone, there was a bit of nervous energy in the air tonight. Katya would be tagging along and he was going to try this magical thing a bit more, at this point he had a bit more understanding of the whole scheme of things. He still couldn’t handle looking down at the hole in his chest but at this point, he was a little less skittish about powering up. It was happening at least once every few days and by now he was able to focus a bit better and actually drain the people he happened upon in the alleys.

The most interesting bit of things was that little pocket dimension of his, it was filled to the brim with first aid supplies, his hydro flask of wine, and the orbs of energy he had gathered. He’d figure out how to turn in his quota here soon, the hard part was doing it around Alexandre’s back. It was something he was a bit conflicted about, keeping his nightly wandering a secret. It was for a good reason though, he needed to do this so he could make sure that when they tagged along he wouldn’t be as much of a liability. It really did help that he had Katya joining him because on more than one occasion he’d felt other signatures nearby and he had to duck behind dumpsters or down stairwells to avoid being seen.

Stepping into the alley that was a few blocks from his shop, he powered up and tucked his long bangs behind his ears as best he could. “Okay, let’s go Katya. I’m going to try and fill the rest of my quota tonight if I can.”

Katya had been waiting outside his shop, looking like any normal street cat though far better groomed than most, when Rene had stepped outside and locked up for the evening. Following at his side, looking up at him, she made sure the look she was giving seemed to say ‘feed me’ in the hopes any passing person might think her some homeless cat looking for a meal. Anything to appear normal.

Once they were safe and he was powered up the mauvian had leapt up and onto his shoulders, pawing her way up his uniform, she let herself rest around his shoulders easily. Nosing the others clean shaven face. He’d been doing well so far, getting his feet under himself, he was avoiding fights for now as he got used to gathering energy and the other most basic of things. He would, in time, get used to things and be comfortable enough to engage in fights. She wouldn’t push it though, everything at his own pace. She wasn’t going to scare him off.

“Yes, let’s go. I’ll keep you covered and you can finish things and we’ll call someone to hand the energy off to.” So it could be turned in, since neither of them could teleport down there themselves.

It was always a bit odd seeing her act like a normal cat but it made sense, anything to keep people from becoming suspicious of them both. Reaching up as she made herself at home on his shoulders, he offered some scratchies before heading off down the alleyway. At this point, he’d found a nice route through some of the shadier bits of town where, in all honesty, he could have just as easily been a nice juicy target for draining. It had made him a bit sick thinking about it at first but the more he looked into the usual way it was all treated, draining just felt like a business transaction in a way. It wasn’t something personal in most cases but that crazy one had some sort of agenda that wasn’t standard issue for things.

Kneeling down next to some passed-out college student, he sniffed the bottle that lay next to them on the ground. That familiar and cheap scent of peppermint vodka sent his nose twitching before he made contact and started to siphon off some energy. At this point, he could focus a lot easier, at least enough to do what he needed to without the orb dissipating or him being caught. A few signatures tickled at the edge of what he could tell but he knew that they couldn’t find him that way. One was closer by than the rest, something order, but other than that he couldn’t figure it out. It wasn’t close enough that they could see him and that was what mattered.

Then he cursed as the student groaned and shifted, shoving him back off balance and to the ground. They passed out before he hit the ground but there was no way that someone hadn’t heard him. Sprinting with Katya, he tried to make his way away and down another alley.

Katya had been guiding the other towards bars, the college area where a lot of bars were located, and the red light district in order to find enough people to supply him the energy he needed to gather. The passed out people made easy targets, especially when you wanted people who couldn’t put up much of a fight. Being new to things she didn’t want him having to get into fights with combative civilians…that was more work than she wanted him to do right now. Benitotie would go for pimps and drug dealers…who would put up a fight and handled them easily. Kafka was not her general and needed to work his way up.

Watching the college student she gave a yelp as Kafka went down and she went with him, landing on the ground, she was able to grab onto him as he went running. Someone would have heard and she could feel the signature near by as well - order. “They are stronger than you…a super.” She whispered into his ear, not wanting to make too much noise.

“If they find us call for back up…” Not her general, she was certain Kafka wouldn’t call for Benitoite, who might also be out tonight, he should call for someone else and likely would.

Selinur had been out hunting for chaos, officers or corrupt senshi, and so far he’d felt nothing. He’d only had a run in with a small youma which was easily dealt with, he didn’t even count it as much of anything, but he’d been passing through alleyways knowing chaos tended to keep to them in order to move about unnoticed. It also helped him as well, since he was rather noticeable, ears and a tail sort of did that on this planet.

When he’d been passing by an alley he heard a noise, something landing on the ground and an almost crashing sound, and he went rushing to investigate. Arriving just in time to see someone departing rather quickly the ancient senshi took off after the figure. “Heyh!” They were, with all that hair, certainly a corrupt senshi as he was pushing to close the distance between them.

Cursing as he heard a voice calling after, there really wasn’t time to call back up was there? “Can I outrun them?” Keeping his voice down as he shot down a different path to try and break away from where they’d seen him. He didn’t want to slow down and try to fumble with his tablet or comms to call for backup because he still didn’t really know anyone outside of Katya, Lorcan, and Alexandre in the Negaverse. If anything he might call for Lorcan over Alexandre but he didn’t know what their name was for this side of things.

Another curse as he shot down yet another alley and noticed it was a dead end. A dumpster stood open with bags piled high but otherwise, there wasn’t anywhere to really hide. Backing up towards the dead end, he faced the opening in the alley as he heard the sound of someone approaching. This was not a great night and it looked like he might have to try something drastic or call his partner for help.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:05 pm

“Not likely, not when they are a super senshi.” Glancing over his shoulder her eyes went wide for a moment. “An alien senshi no less…he’s not from here. I’ve heard of them, read about them, he’s from space.” She called out so Kafka could hear her, rather than whispering to him, there was no point in keeping her voice down right now. They’d already been spotted and he was after them.

She could summon her own tablet but with Kafka running she feared it would drop from her small little paws, and get smashed to bits by the senshi hot on their heels. “Once we stop I can call for help.” And she would…she wouldn’t call for Benitoite, that might turn into a bloodbath she wasn’t sure Kafka could handle seeing. There was no doubt in her mind that if he arrived and saw a senshi after his partner that the senshi would die…in a very bloody fashion. He might take a starseed…he might not but she knew there would be blood. While Kafka might be handling the idea of starseeds, and just what they were, she wasn’t so certain he could handle seeing his partner kill someone and enjoy it as much as he typically did. That was something best saved for another night…one sometime in the future…when Kafka was more accepting of these things.

She could call Lorcan, he might find this interesting, he would likely come to their aid but he couldn’t teleport…it wasn’t a viable option really. They needed help and now - not in ten or twenty minutes when he could arrive. No, she needed someone who could teleport. The thought in mind she made a choice and when they were backed into a corner she leapt off the others shoulder.

“Keep them distracted, please.” She would get them help, because they needed it, even if it might put Benitotie in debt to another general she knew the blond would accept it.

Turning the corner Selinur was pleased to see the dead end, as he could finally stop running after them, slowing his pace he made his approach. “You shouldn’t run, it won’t do you any good, you know.” Tapping his foot as she stood there, staring the corrupt senshi down, he took the time to look them over head to toe. “Out hurting people tonight….” Because of course they were, chaos always hurt people, even if it was just energy gathering. It was still being taken and they were still chaos. It was all bad in his opinion.

The sight of the mauvian gave him pause, he knew corrupt ones existed but he’d not seen one before, he saw this one now. “I see…a mauvian who’s turned their back on their own kind. You can both return to order - as you should.” He would give a chance to them, because of the mauvian, but that would be as nice as he got with either of them. Mauvians were important and needed by order, to awaken more senshi, so if he could save one and bring them back he certain would. If a senshi had to come with them and purify he would allow it…even though he didn’t typically like giving the chance.

Bumping back into the dumpster, he watched as Katya hopped down and gave him something to do. Distraction… that was something he’d have to figure out. At least the senshi wasn’t outright attacking him but he wasn’t sure how long that was going to last. It was surreal though, seeing this senshi that was apparently from space.

Moving to stand between them and Katya, he tried to stand up a bit more to look less skittish. It was weird though, how they said it, return to order? Maybe that was sort of what Alexandre had meant about how someone else might have given him the magic he now had or well awakened it. The details were still fuzzy, those first nights were like hazy images that only had a few blips of clarity.

“I think it should be you who should return to wherever you came from.” Whatever planet they’d come from, it would be great if they just left. Taking a few steps forward, he didn’t really try to look like he was going to fight. A word rolled over his tongue as he made sure he was just far enough away from Katya and close enough to the other senshi. “Swallow.” Pulling his hands towards his mouth before throwing them outward, he felt wholly wrong for a second. Like a rubber band being stretched too far and then snapped back as something seemed to be happening.

Sailor Scout Attack: Swallow.

Kafka says the name of his attack and pulls his hands towards his mouth before throwing them outwards. Those who are in the area of effect feel a slight drain on their body as if their resources are being used up. This may take the form of shortness of breath, fatigue, hunger, or even a slight fuzziness of vision though it is up to the player. After the magic fades there may or may not be a tiny bit of the effect lingering but it is up to the player and would be barely noticeable at this stage.

Katya was taking advantage of the protection Kafka was offering her as she pulled out her tablet. She had already made her decision and so placed a call right to the general she was thinking about, hoping he was out tonight. She knew he was active, had been even more active lately, she just hoped he wasn’t too busy with the dark mirror senshi he associated with. “Chalcanthite, I need you.” She called into the device she held between her front paws. “I have a corrupt senshi here facing down a super and we could use some back up. They are like Aoede was.” Hoping he’d understand that their magic was not stable and not something which could be relied upon. Calling out the location, as best she could, KJatya could only hope he was out tonight and would come to their aid. She didn’t think he was the sort to say no, unless he was occupied with some fight of his own, so she was hoping the general was having a peaceful night as she needed him.

“At least I don’t serve chaos and go harming people from my own planet.” His people were dead, all of them, but the corrupt senshi didn’t need to know that. Stepping closer to the other senshi, hands out and looking as innocent and harmless as he could, Selinur wasn’t surprised when they attacked. It was like a cornered animal - it lashed out. The magic hit, he felt it, he felt it becoming hard to breath and that caused the light headed feel, he was sure of it, as he came closer to the other…close enough.

Tapping his foot on the ground he called on his own magic, hoping it would work against the other, he had no assurances though. His own magic was not the most stable of things, not since arriving on Earth anyway. It would stabilize he was certain but he was also sure it wouldn’t happen till his planet was safe…till the chaos there had been put an end to.

“Freeze up.”

Stumbling slightly as a wave of exhaustion hit him, Kafka stepped back as it started to get colder. Whatever was happening caused him to skid slightly on the ground and go down on a knee. It stung and as he tried to get up he found things too icy and slippery to really make any forward progress so he let himself fall back onto his a** and started to push away back towards Katya as best as he could. That pounding in his head wasn’t helping but then again he was pretty sure he’d basically punched himself in the face with his magic.

What they said bothered him though as he kept trying to scoot away. It wasn’t like he’d harmed anyone but he knew they meant more along the lines of that crazed woman who’d nearly killed him. Hearing Katya call out for a general and then all sorts of names he didn’t know gave him a bit of bravery back as he pulled his metal bottle from that dimension of his and heaved the thing full of wine right at the senshi’s face. With luck, it was heavy enough to maybe stun them or something.

—--------------------------------------------------------------

A call had come in as he sat at his desk whittling away at crystals. It was a mauvian, the one that lived with Beni. At first, he had half a mind to question why they’d called him over Beni but when they mentioned his sister it was a bit clearer. So another late bloomer which meant he could see if his method to help Aoede would work on others. Setting the crystal into the desk drawer, he left the shards for Voce to peck at before he worked on teleporting to the general area Katya had described.

Rooftops in the redlight district all looked the same but he had a bit more information to go off outside of that. Looking over the edge of the building he stood on, he looked for a setup that would lead to a dead end before making his way down to the street. That super signature wasn’t too far from where he’d ended up but he needed to cross a few more rooftops before he positioned himself with enough coverage to use his bow.

Backing up, to avoid the ice on the ground, the mauvian was glaring her best at the alien senshi. “You say that like your side is the right side, like we’re the monsters in all of this.” Huffing the cat had put her tablet away once she felt the aura of a general arriving - backup was here. She knew he’d ask questions and he would get his answers, he was more than entitled to them for turning up to help right now, but at the moment she was doing her best to stand her ground.

“Just breathe Kafka, you’re fine. Don’t let this alien shake you. They are the ones who recruit pre-teens to their side…to this war.” She snapped, tail bristling and her ears tucked back in anger. How dare this senshi speak as they were, trying to get them to change sides. “You even bring in children - seven and eight years old.” Traumatizing them no doubt considering what they might just wind up forced to deal with. A simple fight turns into something far more than a small child should ever see. She knew Benitoite had seen alot, done a lot, things he shouldn’t have at a young age and he’d been a teenager and seen death and killed. He might be ok with the idea now but she was certain it had affected him as it certainly did everyone else.

Selinur himself slid on the glaze that covered the ground, slipping he landed on his a** with a heavy thud, he could feel the arrival of a general and internally cringed. He was not pleased with this turn of events, he should have gone for the mauvian it seemed, this one was to corrupt to save and bring back. She had called for the general, he’d heard it, and they were here and his magic was not stable and reliable. There was no way he could handle a fight against a general and a corrupt combined, not like he was now, he needed to get his feet under himself and escape but it seemed his boots just would not hold - he kept slipping as he tried to get up.

Kafka felt it, that oppressive signature of a general, and it made his head hurt even more. Pressing a hand to his forehead, he managed to make his way back to Katya as he took a few breaths to try and work through the headache. Watching as the senshi was taken out by their own magic, he felt relieved.

Looking up towards the rooftops that loomed above, he couldn’t really tell where the general was but they were close enough that the senshi looked like they were trying to hightail out of here. “Looks like you have the same issue as others, not so easy being on a different planet is it?” Using the rails on the dumpster, he stood as best he could. Everything still felt like one breath away from him sliding to the ground again but hey he had made some progress so that was enough.

—--------------------------------------------------

For a moment more, he watched the senshi and noticed as they’d been caught in their own magic. Sending his bow away, he took a photo with his phone of the senshi and made his way down via teleport. Standing just outside the ring of icy rain, Chalcanthite circled nearer to the corrupt and Katya. “Interesting… not one of the Valencians but not one from here either?” Towering over the down senshi, he watched them coldly as his hand drifted towards Katya so she could jump up. “If you would be so kind as to cover my aura, I would prefer not to be swarmed by any of the others out here tonight.”

He’d planned to just teleport the corrupt out immediately but he was curious now. This was something new, something very much outside of the things he had seen over the years. Taking in all the details, appearance, possible magic, and the fact they weren’t from Earth, Chalcanthite almost laughed to himself over how right Natron had been all those years ago.

“So where do you come from?” Holding his hand out, what appeared in it was no longer a bow but a rapier. “I recommend you head back there or at least out of this alley for the night.” His voice was as cold as the rain that fell within their magic.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:16 pm

“No, I saw a report of it in the tablet….alien senshi who survived the silver milleniums fall.” She spoke, glaring still at the senshi, what a horrid thing. They had survived and were now here infesting Earth. At least they were having an issue with their own magic as it seemed the icey glaze was retreating and melting away on them…poor thing. Grasping at Kafka with a paw she smiled up at him. “You did well.” Now that back up was here they were both safe.

Extending her magic to cover for the general the mauvian nodded her head. “Your good general, I got your aura covered.” She was good at her job, even if she didn’t often do it, she had been far more active lately but that was because she had a vested interest in things because it was very close to her general - very personal for him. Taking advantage of the generals out stretched arm she jumped up and climbed onto his shoulders. “I am glad you were free to come aid us tonight, I thought you might be the best choice as you understand what my charge here is going through with his magic.” She kept her voice low, not wanting this alien to hear her, she did worry with those ears they would hear her…so she was very soft in her speech.

“It’s better we recruit them now than you gain them later!” Because the Negaverse couldn’t take children, or they didn’t, he wasn’t sure how it went but he knew they didn’t have such young children. He hadn’t run into any such children thus far and could only hope they didn’t get to see the darker sides of this fighting…it would do the children no good. Though it might also toughen them up…the children here though were not like they were back home. They grew up hunting and learning to spy and so something like this wouldn’t be as hard on them. They learned to kill animals to eat so at least they could deal with death to an extent. Here though was different on this planet.

His blue eyes were on the general who was circling his magic, which was quickly vanishing from the ground, damn it he knew it should last longer but it wasn’t. It was failing him and he didn’t need this. The bow was gone and he watched a new weapon arrive in their hand..a sword of some sort. He didn’t know the name they used here for such a weapon but he knew it was a type of sword.

“Selinur.” Which was close to the sun and giving that bit of information wasn’t an issue, it was the same as his name anyway, the general would learn this bit of info easily enough. But he wasn’t going to go telling them anything more than his name. Gathering himself, getting his feet under himself, he stood upright and eyed the general as he growled softly. “Why would I go back to my planet when this one needs saving from your kind.” He commented. Never mind that he couldn’t go back and stay on his own planet, it wasn’t a place where one could live right now, he wasn’t going to say that. This planet needed his help anyway, it needed a lot of help, and he was here to lend his help and would remain here till things were settled.

He did however like the idea of leaving the alleyway but he just didn’t want to walk away either…this was not how he wanted to leave a fight. He didn’t like leaving fights…

At this point Kafka just watched and shuffled behind the taller General, it was a bit off-putting to see someone taller than he was. It really hadn’t happened since he was a kid but there wasn’t time to think about that now as his head cleared and that feeling of wrongness faded away. There were moments he wanted to pipe up but at this point, he figured it was better to let things play out.

This general was different from Alexandre and the ice in their voice made him very glad they were on his side of things.

—----------------------------------------------------

Chalcanthite had heard that argument before but when it boiled down to things, there was order within the Negaverse and that was why it was strong even if there were hiccups from time to time. Adjusting his rapier as they stood, he kept it pointed at their throat. The crystal rings hummed as they shifted against the metal but for a fight against a senshi the fact it was a blade was more than enough.

“If anything needs saving, do you think someone who cannot even use their magic properly could do anything about it? I think it would be better for you to worry about your own dead world than this one.” The mention of the silver millennium had brought that tidbit to his mind and he’d be sure to get a proper report done once he got some more things answered either directly or indirectly by this fox-like senshi that hadn’t just spooked off when he arrived.

“If you stay here there is another option though, if you join our side of things it can stabilize your magic. You can earn your place in this world because, as it stands, you are a stowaway trying to cause problems for the people of this planet.” Even if just the action of joining chaos didn’t fix it, he was sure it wouldn’t be hard to find a way to fix things with enough research, after all, he had a new project standing behind him.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:17 pm

“One world at a time and I’m here - so here is where I will focus my attention.” Space would come next, when there was time and he had the energy of an eternal again, then he would take on the chaos there. He wasn’t going to say that though, wouldn’t tell this agent of chaos anything. “And you act like my world is dead. The cosmos are vast and to think it’s all dead is a bit narrow minded, don’t you think.” He commented. Let this general think his home world wasn’t lost, wasn’t ruined, and that he was just here to help. He was, thankfully, good at lying as it was a skill his people knew well and learned young. It was a tool in the weapon box they had, because why need a real weapon when you had lies, information and deceptive skills at hand. You never needed to draw a weapon if you had those skills. At least that had been the case for his planet and his people. They’d never been to war with anyone else and no one had ever threatened them…no one was so stupid.

“I will stabilize my magic on my own, I would not seek help from chaos. All your power can do is corrupt and consume, it is poison to worlds and this one will suffer as others have. Give it time…it will come to pass. This world will fall to it if it continues unchecked…undefeated. It must be snuffed out - you all need to be snuffed out.” Growling as he stepped back , away from the blade. He could not win against the weapon…against a general. But he wasn’t going to turn tail and run either. That was not like him….it never would be.

“Snuff us out - they were both born here! Clearly you were not and you would snuff the people of Earth out simply because they do not agree with you - an alien!” Katya spoke up, her voice carrying despite her small size, her hair standing on end as she spoke. She was not pleased with this one's careless words, spoken with such ease and such dislike for the general and the corrupt.

Turning her head towards Kafka she smiled. “This one here is a prime example of why order must be defeated. This one isn’t even from here and would kill those born here for disagreeing with them. It is join them or die…submit or die. To aliens.” He would kill Benitoite, or see someone else kill the blond, because Katya knew the petite blond would never change sides or submit to order.

The implications of everything he was hearing made him a bit sick as he stood behind the general. There were so many questions and both parties were holding back information, he could tell that but not what or why. He’d played that game before but the realization of how much deeper this rabbit hole went made Kafka realize that he’d have to ask Alexandre more about this sooner rather than later.

Snapping to it as Katya spoke at him, he swallowed and nodded while shifting where he stood. His eyes wandered towards his bottle that lay behind the senshi, he could use that drink but he wasn’t about to ask them to toss it back to him. Part of him felt a bit bad given his own situation as a different type of alien but at least he was human and doing his part in multiple ways to help out here. Trying to speak, his words came out in crumbled French before he stopped and just let things happen however they would. This wasn’t a place he could step in without information or even stability with whatever magic he had.

—--------------------------------------------------------------

“Rather a far distance to go if your world is free from problems.” Stepping forward to keep that same closeness, he made sure they were slowly getting pushed back from the corrupt that stood behind him. “Oh I know that not everything out there is dead and gone but there is a lot of evidence that most of the aliens come here because they seek a place that has life in some sort of manner.” Motioning vaguely towards the sky, he flicked the tip of his blade under their chin to keep the pressure on.

“The possibilities are limitless and I am not one to shy away from looking into things but I will say that there are worse things out there than chaos.” He’d seen unaligned people do horrible things and had even stepped in to remedy those situations but that wasn’t something an outsider would know. “So unless you would like to lose a bit off the top, I recommend you leave now before I call the dogs to tear you apart. It seems that you are set in your ways and not open to additional viewpoints on matters so I will not bother with anything further.” He had more important things to do, a million questions he would be asking as he heard the corrupt speak in a foreign language. An alien of a different type, now that was interesting.
