Black boots delicately stepped over one body, and then another, and finally spun around as a third was noticed. Well! He'd certainly allowed himself to be distracted by the fourth, who was still standing nearby, if only just barely upright. Watching the fat mirror wraiths bob slowly into his shard, Hybris shook his head, "You really were greedy tonight. Didn't I say just a bit?"

Ah, no, that was last night. His slid to the side as there was a soft thump, the fourth one, the distracting one falling into the grass with a sleepy laugh. "M'I drugged?"

He lifted an eyebrow at the question, and more, their tone. They didn't sound like they minded the possibility. "Maybe?"

A new mirrorwraith floated out. May as well just drain the last one wholly as well. He'd already allowed things to get a little sloppy, better to not leave one awake.

When Saiph had cut her patrol short, she'd expected to go home and have a quiet night of watching youtube videos on her phone. Maybe catch up on school work. That sort of thing. Rounding the corner and spotting one very clearly magical person surrounded by people on the ground had not been in the plan. And she couldn't just turn around and let him do... whatever it was.

God dammit.

Kneeling quickly, she scooped on a handful of gravel and ran forward, throwing her little rocks as hard as possible.

"Hey! Leave them alone! Stop hurting them!"

The signal of order zoomed toward him, and while Hybris wasn't too worried by a basic coming to tell him off, he had clearly forgotten how violent the white moon could be. But he was definitely reminded as a small rock hit his forehead as he shielded the rest of his face.

"Ow!" Hybris was very good at being loud, and as he cautiously lowered his arms, the tears were at least 60% genuine.

"Why...why are you attacking me? All I wanted to do was...get away and..." His voice wobbled and broke as he went on, "And then more of them came."

As he spoke, Hybris waggled his mirror shard at the wraith, urging it to quickly scooch back into Mirrorspace.

Taken aback by the sudden tears, Saiph slid to a halt and stared. The tears combined with the very loud words filled her with a disgusted anger. Was this guy for real?

“Are you seriously trying to frame me for hurting these people, you little slimeface?” she demanded with a stamp of her foot. Any thought of throwing rocks and trying to just… chase him off were swallowed up by a massive bubble of Indignant Teen Rage. Able to move again, she darted in closer, determined to land at least one punch on his stupid, whiny face. And maybe put a little fear of Saiph into him as payback.

“Tail Thrash!” the words came easier now. They felt more like a part of her and not something weird and scary.

Though she wouldn’t mind if this weird senshi thought they were scary. She was going to do her best to make sure he did.

Quote:
Sailor Scout attack: Tail Thrash
Effects - Able to be summoned 3 times per battle and lasting about 15 seconds each, Saiph is able to call up a faintly glowing energy shape that (seems unable to make up its mind if it’s an ancient fish, lizard or… other creature) delivers a blow to one enemy target. At this stage, it is the sensation of a shove and is capable of causing an enemy to stumble or perhaps fall depending on where the blow lands.

"Frame?" Hybris considered trying to explain that he was trying to frame the people scattered about on the grass, not her. But ah....that'd probably be worse? Instead he opted to just look even more sorrowful and wronged. Which intensified horribly as she was suddenly calling out her magic.

And horribly, it was the sort that consisted of painfully assaulting him. Well, "painfully". He felt himself being shoved back and decided to go with that momentum, flinging himself down on the ground to make her hit to look especially brutal. His body rolled a few times before coming to a limp stop.

When it came to falling, he could be considered rather good at it. A skill practiced for the stage that proved invaluable on the uh...battlefield? Was being beaten up by teen girls every few months enough to be considered a battlefield? Even so, he put his all into looking extremely injured. For a long moment he simply laid curled up on the ground, hands over his face and groaning.

When Hybris finally turned over slightly, there was a thing red stream dripping down from his hairline, a smear of red at the corner of his mouth. He grimaced a little at the taste of the fake blood cap, but it was just the price he'd have to pay for a good performance.

Coughing a little, he wheezed out, "So vicious..."

Hybris then proceeded to languish.

Saiph couldn’t help it. She stared blankly and wondered if she’d somehow crossed inter-dimensional lines into CrazyTown. It had sort of happened with that weird village, after all. But this wasn’t a village, this was the city that she lived in. And this guy was just an over-dramatic weirdo. Saiph was a thirteen year old girl. She knew about dramatics. It was built into her genetics.

“Y’want an Oscar for that performance,” she called out, voice clearly showing how very unimpressed she was. She knew what her magic was capable of and the most she could have done was made the guy stumble a bit. So, unless he had the very bad fortune to be made of tissue paper (which given his groaning, he might be), she had to assume that the red smear was another trick. She’d watched wrestling one time out of curiosity and had happened upon an old match where one guy came away bloodied from platinum head to gold booted feet. She knew about blading.

A quick glance around at least showed her that other than the four victims, no one else was near them. That was good since she was a little young to be framed up and labeled a Dangerous Criminal.

She wasn’t really sure how old the guy was, but she would guess late teens. Whereas she was a Smol and clearly much younger. If he wanted to play games, well. She could play games too.

Finding a relatively thick branch, though not so thick that her civilian self wouldn’t be able to break it, she wandered over closer to the languishing senshi and made sure that she was within his line of sight before putting on her own performance.

“What… w-what are you doing?” she screamed in a clear, carrying and most importantly, panicked voice. “L-let go of me! You’re h-hurting…”

Quickly, she let out a piercing scream and snapped the branch. In the quiet, both echoed quite well and if anyone was out jogging, they’d hear what they thought was a young girl having a bone snapped. Then, she called up the wracking, hiccuping sobs that every pre-teen and teenage girl knew how to instinctively dredge up and sank to the ground, clutching her arm.
But not before whispering to the other senshi, “And the Oscar for Best Performance goes to..”

Lounging in his pathetic sprawl, Hybris watched with interest as the girl started to copy and try to improve upon his bit. If she wasn't a child or so prone to violence towards him, she'd probably be a good apprentice of sorts to bring into the Mirror. Lenka would definitely like her even with the terrible personality.

The acting wasn't too bad really, definitely an amateur, but she made up for it with attitude and surprisingly decent voice control. Plus, who was going to question a teenage girl in immediate danger of...

Well. Herself, really.

"Me," Saiph answered herself, not bothering with a whisper. The dark mirror super, now chibi senshi, hopped up to her feet in a motion extremely limber compared to the the wet piece of tissue that had been barely hanging on before. There was a light in the distance and some voices, and she started racing toward it.

Saiph would hear her own voice calling out, "No! Please don't arrest me! I didn't mean to! It just....it just happened!"

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Follow the Leader

illusion: with a sweep of his hand, Hybris takes on the exact appearance of one target for the duration of his magic. Mainly used for distraction and confusion. He cannot change his energy signature but will appear as an exact replica of his target. As a perfect reflection of them, he can mimic their voice, but he cannot mimic any magic.

duration: 35 seconds
range: 15 feet

Staring into her own eyes was a new and startling experience and Saiph couldn’t help but be taken aback. And in those few seconds, the guy, err girl… her double? Was already off and into the distance, still intent on framing her. For a moment, she considered running after since it would muddy things a bit if the people approaching saw two girls, both babbling about how evil the other was.

It was tempting. Especially since the guy’s magic couldn’t last forever and watching him turn back in front of witnesses would have been so damn satisfying. So that left her with what other options? She hated the idea that she was going to end up marked as a menace, but there were ways around that. Frankly, she wished that her magic was strong enough to send after the drama queen and really give him a fright. Someday…

“Your acting sucks!” she settled on yelling, hoping he’d hear. “You belong on a fourth rate telenovela!”

As insults went, it was lame, but she’d seen some really, really bad soaps and it was the best she could think of. Besides, with him gone, she could maybe help the people lying where he’d left them. Hurrying over, she knelt by one and thought that maybe there was some very shallow breathing happening. Pulling out her phone, she dialed 9-1-1 and reported the four downed people and how they all seemed to be in states of shock bordering on death. It would get the cops here fast and that was all she cared about. What did her pride matter compared to saving (hopefully) some lives? Saiph stayed by the four until she saw lights fast approaching. Then, she bolted before she could be questioned.

She could always pay Drama Boy back later.
