Kayde 1

The family house sat close to the ocean, surrounded by low stone walls that were both easy to climb over and easy to see over. Though the sea wasn't as close as it had been at their previous house, it was still close enough to be heard in the distance, the white foam of the waves in the quickening wind flashing in the distance. On the other side of the ocean, large cliffs towered over the house, but far enough away to be reached after a few hours of walking. Down one of these cascaded a small waterfall, down into a small pond perfect for swimming. It was a good spot for a vacation home, which was partly what it was used for. One wing of the house belonged to Deric, the official owner of the place, while the other wing was where Kayde and his family stayed. It was three stories tall, with small living quarters in the back for the staff who preferred to remain close to their work, with plenty of room for their families. It put into perspective how much money Elka's family must have and how much she'd left behind to chase after him. It was enough to give anyone an ego. Good thing Kayde wasn't prone to arrogance. It had taken him a while to get used to the house, but now that he had, he had to agree with her that it really was the best decision for the family. They couldn't have scrapped the money together for a proper house in time for the kids to outgrow being in the same room. What an irresponsible parent he had been, thinking only of himself. He looked over at his daughter now, wondering how much of it she had understood. She had always been far smarter than the rest of them.

As well as being the only one to have been affected by the pollen. Nothing seemed to have been left untouched in her case, whereas some people had only minor differences. It hadn't upset him much. Only seeing her in distress over it. She was still his little girl, no matter her colors. And if anyone questioned it, well...The crystals on her forehead was telling. As well as the similar face to himself.

Kayde next glanced at the sky, noting the few clouds in the sky. "Good weather to walk to the school. I'm surprised you still want to join me. I'd have thought you'd be off onto the next big thing to learn by now." He said this in a very obviously teasing manner. He would not have been that disappointed had she decided she'd had enough of dance lessons. She seemed to take after himself in skill collecting.
