Taking small odd jobs here and there usually wasn’t something Nasuri did, but one of her friends had asked her to replace her for some lessons and she’d agreed to do it. She was supposed to give a young girl some etiquette lessons, which she certainly could do considering her parents. She finally decided what she really wanted to do, this wasn't it but that didn't mean she couldn't help her friend.
Nasuri smoothed the wrinkles from her dress as she waited patiently at the entrance of the home. As she waited, Nasuri reviewed her lesson plan in her mind, ensuring she was well-prepared to impart the intricacies of etiquette to her young student. Teaching manners and social graces wasn’t one of her specialties, but she was willing to help.

Zybilna was basically home by herself today. Her father was out with the beasts, doing who-knows-what. Her mother, was busy tending to her own needs with two new infants on the way. Her brother, on the rare occasion was actually doing something on his own. The young Prentice struggled with the silence around her, she didn't like it. No, not even a little. To make matters more interesting, her mother had insisted that someone help school her in matters and etiquette.
She watched the door with a long drawn out pout. She did not want to partake in any lessons that her brother didn't also have to be involved in. And she was loath to admit she would much rather be doing whatever it was her brother was getting to do.
Breathing deeply, Zybilna noticed the woman approaching the front doorway to her home. Chewing on her bottom lip as she hesitated, Zyblina knew she would only be in serious trouble if she left he lady waiting at the door. Pulling the door open to the unexpected guest, Zybilna gave her best 'hello' that she could muster.

Nasuri sensed the girl's reluctance the moment she opened the door and greeted her. It was evident in the pout etched across her face, and she couldn't help but empathize with her. These weren’t exactly the fun kind of lessons, but oftentimes necessary for some families because of social standing. Nasuri had never taken lessons herself, but she was sure her mother would have also found her a tutor if she didn’t have any manners. Nevertheless, Nasuri maintained her professional demeanour, offering a warm smile in response to Zybilna's hesitant greeting.
"Hello there," Nasuri replied, her voice gentle yet authoritative. "I'm Nasuri, I’m here to assist you with your lessons of etiquette." Stepping forward, she extended a hand in greeting, hoping to ease any tension the girl might be feeling. "Shall we begin?" she offered kindly. This whole time she was observing her, taking mental notes on what she could offer help to improve.

Zybilna stood in the door way taking her time in gathering her energy to respond. Knowing her luck, the lesson had already begun and she was already on the downward spiral. "Pleasure to meet you Nasuri. I'm Zybilna." She replied as sweetly as she could.
The young woman glanced down towards the extended hand. Daintily offering her own out to Nasuri. Placing her hand within the womans grasp, Zybilna performed her soft bowing like curtsy. "We shall." She responded in kind. "Would you care for me to lead you towards the living space so we may be comfortable?"
Resisting the urge to rub her head, Zybilna extended her hand palm open and fingers out moving her hand in a fluid motion to indicate the direction they were to be heading. "You'll find the area far more comfortable with the cushions than you would with the hard wooden chairs of the kitchen." Straitening up she raised her golden eyes to meet Nasuri's. Then lowering it in a downward nod. "I'll prepare some tea while you settle in the room."

Nasuri followed Zybilna through the corridors, her gaze lingering on the details that adorned the walls and the soft glow of lights that seemed to dance gently in their sconces. Once they entered the living area, Nasuri glanced around, taking the room in. Zybilna had been nothing but graceful so far, her teacher had done well in teaching her.
"Zybilna, your home is truly beautiful," Nasuri ventured, her voice carrying a genuine tone of appreciation. "And this," she gestured around the cozy living space, "feels so welcoming." Nasuri went and got settled on one of the cushions, not unlike the ones they had back home and waited for her student to come back. Welcoming your guests and then making them comfortable as well as offering them a drink were all things a great host did. She was curious to see if she’d bring anything to eat as well even if Nasuri had not asked for it. A small bite would take things the extra mile.

Nodding Zybilna agreed with Nasuri. "Yes, Mamma does well to keep the home looking like this, and this room in particular is Mamma's study room. She thinks having places that are soft, more beneficial to ones learning and study."
Having said that the oldest daughter to Teiluj and Lynxdaroch removed herself from the room. She traveled drearily back down the hallway into the kitchen. Pulling out a pot to warm over the stove, pouring water into the larger vessel. Shifting back through the room, almost as if she were a shadow of her mother. Following her movements so often seen as she sat with her siblings in the kitchen. She was lucky to be taller like her father, so reaching the various herbs and flowers to put in a smaller vessel she then plunked into the nearly heated water.
Folding her arms reluctantly Zybilna glanced about the kitchen. Her mother had a set of scones in the corner, something she often served to her clients with a bit of the homemade jelly and cream. There had already been a portion set out for the day, and so the young woman went about gathering up the various ingredients and putting each part on a single tray. Tea, a touch of sweetner and milk. The scone's with some jam and cream.
She hadn't eaten much herself today, and if she was going to be busy serving her guest she should eat too. It would be rude if she sat there hungerly staring at her guest as she ate because she was too hungry.

Nasuri observed Zybilna's movements with a critical eye. When the young woman disappeared, Nasuri simply glanced around waiting for her to return. She’d been right though, she was quite comfortably seated. When Zybilna finally returned with everything in hand, Nasuri smiled.
"Remember, Zybilna, hosting is not just about serving food and drink," Nasuri reminded her gently, her voice carrying the weight of experience. "It's about making your guest feel welcome and comfortable in your home. Confidence and warmth are just as important as the quality of the refreshments you provide."
"You're doing well, " she said softly. "Just remember to be yourself and treat your guest with kindness and respect. That's all anyone can ask for. Hosting is not just about serving food and drink, it's also about making your guest feel welcome and comfortable in your home. Confidence and warmth are just as important as the quality of the refreshments you provide." Granted once one got older, you saw the nuances of polite words and mannerisms.
