Tale, the balmy plain lands. Lush grass everywhere with a few stands of trees here and there, the largest being more western from the smaller settlement of Isd. It was outside this settlement a young Leaf/Wind hybrid was chasing after an adolescent Scorra. The bird was almost fully grown and its own personality was starting to show through. Its dark plumage was a dark blot against the bright greens and browns. The young girl was dressed in an equally green dress, her auburn colored hair tussled about her face as she chased the bird.

"Soran, really! Get back here with that!" She shouted at the bird as it darted around with what looked like a few hair ribbons in its beak. "You know better then this. Those aren't toys!" Soran as the Scorra was named looked back towards its companion that was trying to catch up. Aldara, with one hand held up her skits while tried to reach out with the other. She wasn't sure how the Scorra had gotten her hair ribbons, but she was determined to get them back.

The trip home to Zena was chaotic, to say the least. The growing family was taking a break for supplies and Koril was taking a break from it all when he heard the call of the desperate girl. Once he was sure it wasn't anything dangerous, he chuckled and had to walk closer for a better look. No threat outside of a juvenile's mischievous playfulness. That scorra wasn't quite full grown yet, but it was obviously going to be a beauty! He couldn't be gone for long, but it would make for an interesting break. "Flana, you stay," he said to his furry companion before he raised his voice toward the girl giving chase. "Hello. Are you alright there?"

At Koril's side, Flana the zanteer was wiggling with excitement. She saw the girl and the scorra running around and just wanted to jump in and play! By now, she at least had enough training and age to listen to Koril for now.

Aldara had stopped and was panting as the Scorra seemed to trot in triumphant circles as it had won. Hands on her hips, she went to scold the bird again before hearing someone speaking up a bit of a distance away. Turning she spotted someone coming in her direction. He was much older than she was and had a companion of his own. "Hello." She greeted before looking back towards the Scorra. "Just trying to stop someone from making a mess. I raised you from an egg and this is how you act!" she half shouted towards the bird.

Soran as the bird was named tilted its head to one side. The colorful ribbons still hanging out its beak. Flapping its wings, Soran was happy with itself. Turning towards this new voice, large eyes started at the man before catching a glance at what was left sitting a distance away. Peeping over the beak of ribbons, the Scorra headed towards the Zanteer.

"Soran get back here." Aldara shouted after the bird as it was currently ignoring her.

Koril couldn't help his amused grin when he noticed the ribbons the scorra was carrying around. "It's not fully grown yet, right? Messes are the specialty of the young." He glanced back and Flana and sighed. "Of course, some never quite grow out of it. You say you raised it yourself though? They look very healthy and happy."

The temptation of the approaching scorra was too much for the playful zanteer. Flana yipped with delight and bounded over to close the distance. She eagerly scurried around Soran's legs, sniffing and inspecting her potential playmate.

This whole thing was bound to give Aldara a headache sooner or later. But she felt defeated as she resigned herself to never getting the ribbons back. Not that the pieces of cloth were that valuable, it was just the idea that the Scorra had taken them. Turning her attention towards the older gentleman who commented on the Scorra being happy and healthy.

"His egg rolled away from its clutch while he was hatching. Don't know how or why it happened, I found it and he's never left my side since." She said looking towards the two critters. "Tried returning him to the rest of his clutch, never stuck so I raised him. My mom helped as well, but I was the only one he would take food from."

Soran glanced at the zanteer as it leaped up and came bounding over. Taking high steps as scurried around its legs. Squawking in surprise the ribbons it had been holding fluttered to the ground as he turned to try and play with the zanteer. While he had never really played with another critter, he was trying. Though trying to leap onto the zanteer wasn't the most appropriate way of playing.

"Oh.. Soran, be careful!" Aldara said in a bit of a distressed why. She felt like she was failing at something, she just wasn't sure what it was. "I hope he grows out of this phase soon." She glanced at the one she were speaking to. "How did you get your companion to list?" She had noted it had been sitting patiently before Soran headed over to play with it.

Koril listened to the tale of the scorra intently. "Is that so? How interesting." He looked back at the scorra leaping around and nodded. "That's fairly common with hatchlings. They bond instantly to the first, well, 'adult' within view when they hatch. It makes returning them difficult. It's still possible, but difficult. You're his mum, absolutely."

His brow rose with the inquiry, and he couldn't help laughing. "Some days, she still doesn't pay attention. I've had her since I was little though. Younger than you are, I'd wager." That was a sobering thought. While not old by any means, he and Flana both were no spring chicks. He trusted Flana to not be too rough with the scorra, but Flana was a little old to be jumped on. He gave a quick whistle. "Flana. Come here." He turned back to the girl without waiting to watch the zanteer. "Positive reinforcement is your best tool, in my opinion. Most of the animals I work with are happier to listen for praise than out of fear."

When the ribbons fell to the ground, Flana immediately darted around to grab a pair into her mouth to claim them as her own. The call made her ears perk, and she looked up at the scorra almost sadly before she trotted over to Koril's side. There, she held up the ribbons with what looked like a contented smirk.

Aldara watched the older tamer as he started laughing made her feel like she had said something wrong. Fidgeting a little with the hem of her clothing she looked away as a red flushed over her face. Was that a bad question, she had been just curious. As the man continued to speak of his companion, she looked over towards where Soran was with the Zanteer. Praise? How could someone praise someone who got into more trouble then a toddler?

"Sounds easier said then done, somedays with that one." she says as Soran pipes up and chases after the zanteer as it scooped up some of the ribbons and brings them to its master. Soran, seeming to be upset reaches out to try and take hold of one of the ribbons.

"It's alright Soran, just gather up the others." She said trying to sound a little calmer, kinder as she pointed out the few that were still on the ground. "Gather those ones and I will lace them through your feathers."

The Scorra stared at Aldara as she spoke. He had let go of the ribbon he was looking to try and take back from Flana. Soran looked back at the colorful pieces of cloth that were on the ground before trotting over to peck at them. Picking them up the best he could before returning with two of the three that were still on the ground. It was good enough as Aldaea petted the Scorra's head.

Koril chuckled lightly again and nodded. "It's absolutely easier said than done. Some animals are more willing to tame than others. Just lots of repetition and consistency." His smirk rose. "Rather like a youngling. If you're not following through, they'll just learn there's a point where you'll give in and wait you out." He looked down at the pair and sighed. Once the scorra stepped away, he reached to grab the ribbons. "Flana. Give."

Flana whined when the scorra tried to take the ribbons back, and was hesitant to even give them to Koril. She opened her jaws though and gave her tail a hesitant flap. She'd done good, right?

Koril smiled and scritched under Flana's chin. "Thank you. Good girl." He took a few steps closer to the girl and held out the confiscated ribbons. "By the way, name's Koril. And that, of course, is Flana."
