Lukas was never a man who tried very hard at things in general. Yes, he did his job and he did it well, but above and beyond the call of duty for whatever it was he had to do? Nah...
But there was one man out there that had him trying every single day.
Even if it meant that he had to go out and about doing magical nonsense now and then so he could fulfill that teeny tiny request his love had.
No marriage until he had magic. Back in the day, he would have groaned and griped about it, and he kinda did, but love was a magical weapon, one that he was far too weak to fight against. And it took a long a** time to get where they were now... Though he considered ti a good thing.
More time to think of life together, of the future. Of how they would finally find the happiness that they both terribly deserved and solidify the fact that Yes, Lukas would do anything and everything Wyatt asked of him to be by his side.
He'd have to admit though, being taken to the court house that same day was a whirlwind that left him delighted and confused and absolutely taking him back home after and blowing out Wyatt's back.
Lukas was more than a little giddy for quite some time after wards, skipping no opportunity to shower Wyatt in love and to dote on him all over. Valentine's Day was no different. Their diner was chosen, and he even managed to convince the owners to make a cute AND tacky booth in the back just for them.
Though... He would be polite and ask if Wyatt wanted to go out still tonight. Working at that Hotel was entertaining every now and then from what he heard, but no less exhausting.
... That didn't stop him from near busting into the front door late at night with a large bouquet of construction paper succulents in his arms.
"Darlin'~ " He called out in a sing song voice, outright ignoring if there was anyone else in the lobby at the time. "Time to get on goin~"
