prompt 7 - glass blowing class

Honestly, Glen thought his day been going well. He had a date to the Crystal Hearts gallery, getting the chance to use the cute heart heels he bought, nothing particularly...alien, had happened, and the guy was interested in the exhibit and him. At least, till he found out the guy was a bit of an art snob, at which point the day sort of went south. After parting with his kind of failed date (not Glen's best idea in his own opinion, letting the guy suggest the extremely romantic glass art exhibit as a first date, but hey, he blamed his curiosity for the local foods at the events buffet getting the best of his better judgement) He wandered the rest of the exhibits, viewing the garden, and helping himself to a bit of the finer foods at the buffet that caught his eye, he felt nearly done with the event, but didn't particularly feel like leaving yet (it would force him to deal with yet another bad date and he wanted to avoid that for a bit longer.) when a voice caught his attention. "Ma'aam?" the voice called, Glen taking a second to realize it was at him. "Y-yeah?" he responded a bit confused. The person who called him was a man, shorter than him, with curly brown hair and nice red eyes. Glen mentally slapped himself, his date literally JUST crashed and burned. The man didn't seem to notice, having a soft smile that was maybe a bit concerned."You look a bit...lost, I guess?" the guy said a bit nervous now, slightly blushing (and damn it was cute) "And, it seems you could use an activity, and I happen to be helping with a glass blowing class being hosted, just show your ticket stub and you'll get in, you'll have something to take your mind off your trouble, and get a free gift you made personally!" The guy got a bit more into his speech, gaining confidence back. Glen looked around his clutch, finding the stub in question. Eh, maybe the guy was on to something, and cooking and baking gave him a steady enough hand to probably be good at glass blowing. "So, this one right?" the guy nodded. "yes! We're about to start and it seems like we have just enough room for one more at this hour!" Saying that, the guy, sort of stiffly, went on to the class, Glen sort of confused, and exasperated. The guy was cute but he had no real social skills huh.

He joined the class, entertained by the teachers example, and the man from earlier assisting in making a glass heart. As soon as the class began their projects, the man seemed to just appear right by him. "Hello again! Sorry for earlier it's just, a little much trying to, get an audience I guess?" The guy seemed flustered now, and Glen didn't want to point out that this class was full up, mainly of couples and a few laughing friends, making him the only single there and boy, he needed to stop that now or the show he'd be making in the next few days would be heavy, obvious depression sweets. "It's fine, I really did need a distraction, so thanks." He smiled, noting the guy blushed a bit, looking from up at him and away (and he hadn't dated any man recently who had to look up at him, he had forgotten how cute that could be even though at 5"6, that was definitley hard to find)
"So um...could you help me make a heart I guess?" He gestured to his glassier eye. "This seemed fun until I remembered everything sort of looks like im looking through foggy glass out of one eye." It had been a few years, he was comfortable now talking about his left eye, though it seemed like the other guy was not even though he seemed to have a scar around his right eye, though no eye damage, lucky guy. "Oh my gosh, I..I'm so sorry! Of course, i'll help as much as you need."Oops, the guy felt guilty. Glen, patted his arm. "No worries, I'm more worried that ive never done this before and don't want to burn myself." The guy didn't say anything, after that, still feeling bad, soemthing Glen knew he couldn't really cure. The guy was good though, super good! He was able to help Glen through the entire process, and if there was a small upset, the guy handled it well, like Glen nearly bumping into the other person near hims recently finished item. All in all he ahd a surprisngly good time, and told the guy as much once the class was wrapping up. "Thank you, this was, well, definitley different from my job, that's for sure, except the heat, i'm definitley used to that."He laughed, getting a smile out of the guy. "I'm glad, if you ever want to try again, I actually work at a local business and we hold regular classes." Hr got a card out, the title reading Gabriel Tate, Librarian/Glass maker. (holy crap the guy had business cards that was nerdy and hit the right place in Glen's feelings) "I'm Gabriel, it was lovely to meet you>.." Gabriel paused, realising he never got the pretty mans name. "Glen, i'm Glen." Now Glen was the one looking away, Gabriel preferred that to the mans lost look from earlier at least. "Glen, I hope we meet again, unfortunatley, I need to head back to the class." He waved as he walked away. Glen waved back, sighing. "Me too." He fingered the card, maybe, maybe next week he would.
