The Lottery (6): You don’t have to spend money to leave with something amazing! Every ticket holder receives one lottery ticket to exchange for a random prize from their vast assortment. When you exchange your ticket on the way out, you might win a chance at a crystal flower (any color or design), $25 gift cards donated by local businesses, free meals donated by local restaurants, free classes donated by art studios, tickets donated for local events, or tickets to come back to the gallery on another day. Smaller prizes, like glass jewelry, paperweights, suncatchers, windchimes, or little glass figures are more common but anything’s possible! If you don’t like the prize you won, you can always buy another ticket for $15.
You can choose the prize your character wins! Please do not use a player owned business or location without permission, but feel free to be as lucky (or unlucky) as you like!

She had been at the entire event, for the majority of the day and she was done. Finally done. Shannon had been commissioned to write a piece on the whole shindig, even paying extra for her to be there for the entire day. She was planning on being there for a few hours at most before bouncing, and pocketing the bonus, but then she learned that the damn ‘crystal garden’ looked different depending on the time of day. So that ruined her plan. Luckily she was able to just find a corner and start her work so it was nearly done except for some last minute additions and various pictures. Got to love gdocs! It made working, when out and about, sooooo much easier.
Anyway, Shannon spent her time there at the event. Browsing the tables of local trinkets and the like on sale, she had even picked up these cute little fluttery earrings. The music was good, the people the event got to play were all fairly decent at their profession, not that she really cared. The food, worth the price of the ticket in her mind. Not that she was the one who paid for her entry, that was all part of the commission price. That one desert… dear lord that was good! She knew she would have to spend several hours working out just to burn those calories off but it was definitely worth it. She drifted from the buffet through the gallery, looking over all the work that people presented. It was interesting, especially seeing Ryan’s work there, but she honestly didn’t care that much. Pretty yes, but that was about all she felt while looking at it all.
The thing that really brought the most reaction out of her, other than the food, was the crystal garden. It was beautiful. Even she knew it was a sight to behold. It still sucked she was stuck there longer then she wanted to be because of it but she understood. And the pictures she ended up with…. Totally worth it. It was a riot of color. A real magical moment. After a few minutes of just looking and standing in silent awe, Shannon quickly spent time snapping pictures with her camera until she felt she was good to go.
So with that done, and with her notes and the article mostly written the young woman was more than ready to go home. Shannon was nearly out the door when she was reminded about the lottery. Apparently each ticket gave you a chance to win one of the various prizes. Lots of little things, gift cards and event tickets, there were even some crystal flowers that were put up for the lottery. Since it was free with the price of the event ticket, it wasn’t like Shannon was going to pass it up. She looked over all the prizes and while the flowers were pretty she was more interested in the gift cards and the like. There were a few prizes for pretty expensive places too! No way her wallet would allow her to visit on a normal trip but if she had one of those… all bets were off the table.
“Here you go! Congratulations,” The staff happily handed over her lottery win. Shannon thanked them with a weak smile and quickly walked away, looking at the little glass sun catcher. The swirl of color was pretty at least but it was damn near useless for her. Ah well. Free was still free, and maybe she could bum this off on Alex or Ryan and get brownie points. It was worth trying at least. For now she had an article to write and a commission to collect.
