The Buffet (4): A lengthy walk through the Crystal Garden and the Art Gallery must have worked up quite an appetite. Thankfully, the event has an amazing catering team. The buffet is regularly replenished and filled with all sorts of food meant to please every guest. Ingredients are posted near every dish to ensure no accidental allergies, and all meals are prepared with safety and care. A few local restaurants have volunteered recipes or are preparing their specialties; if there’s a meal you liked, you may be able to find it at your next favorite local restaurant!
Contributing chefs are credited with their meal, and if players have characters that work in any restaurant or are available for catering, they can include that their meals are offered in the buffet.

Ryan, Damien and Rose all talked about the event going on, how it had been nice and how nothing weird had happened. Something Rose emphasized because Destiny City was famous for funny stuff happening at an event. Cass decided to grab a pair of tickets for him and Mercy and take his wife out on a date to enjoy the little event. Currently they were at the buffet which had many samplings to try from all different restaurants and Cass would fully here for finding new places to add to date night or days out. There were quite of a few places he knew the boys would like.

Mercy was in awe at all the nice things available at the buffet, trying to see if she could at least try something that wasn't stupidly sweet, like those garlic popcorn chicken balls. She made her way over and was about to grab some when the smell hit her and she had to quickly turn away lest she lose her breakfast all over the floor. “Oh got damn it ... .Really girls? Please please can mommy have something other than sugar?” She sounded a bit whiny but being six months pregnant with twins and morning sickness STILL was not something she thought would be happening to her at this point. Sighing, she made her way over to where there were some chocolate covered strawberries (as much as her body was trying to waddle she refused), giving into the fact that this would be more of a sugar adventure, which really sucked cause that popcorn chicken would’ve been devoured otherwise.

Cass watched his wife make a beeline for the savory treats and roll his eyes when it was obvious she’d not be able to have any. The girls like sweet things, so they were well stocked in fruit and ice cream and eggs required sweet salsa and they were getting creative about getting around it.

“Babe, you know they are going to let you, hopefully next month.” He rubbed her back and made his way over to the chocolate covered strawberries with his wife. “They've got smoothies over there as well and over there are sundaes.”

He himself wasn’t terribly interested in anything with sugar, but he wasn't going to partake in all the savory treats knowing his wife couldn't have any.

Mercy looked up at her husband while putting a couple of strawberries onto her plate. “I know…I just…I miss eating dad’s food and your food and my own cooking.” Ugh this pregnancy has been nothing but a rollercoaster with her cravings and her emotions too, because it looked like she was about to start crying…Over food. “Why can't I just have some got damned catfish or some fried chicken?! Or some teriyaki chicken?!” She sniffled and tried to keep quiet so they wouldn't make a scene, eating a strawberry and almost bawling when it settled so nicely on her stomach and tasted like heaven. “It tastes so good and I want more but…I wanted <******** chicken!” That's when the tears started and that only made things worse at that point. “I'm gonna get fat a-and I'm not gonna be able to lose the weight a-and I'm just gonna keep eating sweets!”

Cass should have seen this coming, maybe the buffet wasn't the best suggestion and he tried not to sigh as he shielded his pregnant wife from onlookers who were two curious or nosey. “ I know Dove, growing babies kind of sucks, this go around. You're not going to get fat babe, let just go find some honey to dip the chicken in and see if that works. If not we’ll get some general Tao’s chicken tonight an extra for extra sauce.”

He was trying to help, but he knew even still she really wanted to just have some savory food just as it was. “Come on love, lets go sit down for a bit, or maybe check out the shops and see if they've got anything cute for the kids.”

There was honestly nothing like a little retail therapy and Cass was very willing to do anything to make his wife happy. Happy wife, happy life.

Having the chicken in some honey might work…As long as she didn't taste much of the garlic it should be fine right? That caused her to sniffle less but now she felt bad. Mercy could feel the people around them attempting to be nosey and she hated it. “S-Sorry…Im trying to stop hun…Yeah we can go sit for a bit, my feet are starting to hurt anyway.” At this point, she was going to be determined to make sure she could get something from this buffet without throwing up or causing a scene. Pregnancy hormones are a b***h to deal with and she couldn't wait till she delivered her baby girls in May. Despite what she might joke about, Mercy did not blame Cass for anything really. It was her fault for deciding to wear the outfit she was going to wear to the mall that day, but in her defense…She was expecting Cass to be too busy with the boys to really catch her before she left.

But also there was something about her husband quite literally picking her up like sack of potatoes and taking her to the bedroom that just tickles her pink. Thats what happened that day and lo and behold, here she was carrying twins.

Funny how that works.

Cass pressed a kiss to his wife’s forehead and smiled, “it's cool, no need for all that. You do what you have to do, Dove.” He kept rubbing her back while they made their way to some of the seating they had around pulling out a chair for Mercy to sit in and sitting down next to her.

“I know you really want something savory, but want me to see if they have a green smoothie, they usually are pretty sweet, while still not being overly unhealthy.”

One had to compromise, after the smoothie if Mercy wanted it, they could try to walk around some more and sample the good. Cass would try to procure some honey while Mercy rested.

“A green smoothie would be okay.” Mercy was trying to wipe her eyes and see about maybe getting a cold wet paper towel to keep them from being all puffy and red. Maybe after the smoothie they could just go shopping and grab some stuff for everyone and some trinkets for the boys, who she hoped wasn’t giving her parents too much hell. Usually she would ask Ashleigh but she was busy and being all mysterious for some odd reason, Dmitry and Ryan were going through it from the information she gathered through the little bestie group chat, and Ryan also had plans to be in the gallery at some point. Lily was far too pregnant, Rose was there with her boys while Damien was at a meeting. The next best thing would have been Xander, Ai, and Yatora but Xander was at work and Ai was here with Yatora and their brood. So, her parents it would have to be. Sitting back in the chair, Mercy lovingly rubbed her stomach with a sigh. “Not even born yet and you two are already spoiled…”
