With his uncle being gone for the day at work his grandparents had asked him to go to the shop and pick up a few items that they needed. It wasn’t such a big deal to him really. Visha liked helping out here and there when he could, so long as it didn’t interfere with his own time. Like now.
He had a few packages in his hands, the larger one on the bottom so that he had a sturdy surface for the smaller ones to sit on top of.

After finding the family of the little earthling she had opted to hang out in Oba for a bit. Mostly because there was so much to see. And she was enjoying the sights. Out for a walk she tended to go people watching. Which is how she noticed the boy with a few packages walking along the street but there was someone behind him that looked like they were ready to snatch his coin purse.

He hummed as he walked, enjoying the weather. The sun was out but there were a few clouds that helped lessen it’s heat and there was a good breeze coming in from the sea. He was wholly unaware of the person stalking him for the coin purse at his side. Since his arms were full it made him a perfect target. There was little he could do to retaliate unless he wanted to drop the goods he had in his hands.

She watched as the would be thief got closer and licked their lips in anticipation. She wasn’t so sure she wanted to let them get the bounty they were after. So she moved along a bit quicker to catch up to the boy with the packages in his hands. “Hello dear friend.” She sounded pleased with herself as she greeted the boy but looked over her shoulder at the thief to let them know she saw them. “I hope you aren’t upset at my tardiness.”

When he heard the greeting he blinked and snapped his head to the side to look at the aishan woman who had come up to him. What in the? His mouth opened up to say she had the wrong person but he noticed she was looking behind them and so he glanced that way. He saw someone altogether too close for his liking and shut his mouth. A grunt followed.

She gave a chuckle when she noticed the way the boy reacted. It was better than outright refusal that he knew her. That was what she expected from him. To be pleasantly surprised was nice though. When the would be thief backed off she smiled and turned her head to look at the boy. “Apologies. I didn’t want you to be robbed.” The boy looked too nice for all that.

He noticed the figure disappeared out of his peripheral as he looked at the aishan again. “Its alright, but you did confuse me for a second.” He was sure the woman had gotten the wrong one. “I almost asked you if your eyes were working.” He gave a soft laugh as he readjusted his packages in his hands. “Thank you though.”

“Heh, yeah.. My eyes are working just fine.” She offered a grin as she kept walking with him. They just so happened to be going the same direction anyways. It wouldn’t hurt anything. “You’re welcome.” Silence fell between them after than and she took the opportunity to look around at things. She figured if she walked with him for a bit longer then the thief would be totally discouraged and find someone else. Someone who could defend themselves or give chase.

When the silence fell he expected her to branch off and go her own way but she didn’t. So he stayed quiet for a bit before he spoke up. “Is there a reason you’re still walking with me?” He was curious. Was the thief still following? He turned his head to look behind them but didn’t catch sight of the person. Not that he’d be very good at finding such an ordinary person in the crowd anyways. He’d have to work on that for later if he wanted to avoid being a target.

“Ah well.. I thought if I walked with you like we really knew one another then they would give up.” She shrugged her shoulders slightly. “I can always leave you be if you are uncomfortable.” Ali knew that not everyone was okay with the Asshan’s yet. Not only had she figured it out from her home in Yael but since arriving on the mainland she and her sister had gotten a bunch of stares. More so than they did back home anyways.

“Oh.. I hadn’t thought of that.” He nodded softly as he looked forward again so he didn’t run into anyone or trip. “Thank you again.” It was kind of like having his own escort. It was slightly nice. Though a thought did occur to him. “I can’t pay you for helping me.. If that’s what you thought.” He glanced to the side at the woman.

When he thanked her again she smiled and nodded. It was nice to hear an earthling say that every so often. Then of course he brought up paying her. SHe shook her head and chuckled. “No need. I didn’t do it for that.” It wasn’t unheard of for people to do such a thing, a bit of a scam if you asked her, but she had no need for it. She got coin in other ways.

“Good to know.” He settled down and seemed content to just walk with her company for a while before something else came to his mind. “I’d hate to be the one to ask but.. You look different from other Alkidikes..” He cringed a bit as he mentioned it. While he might live in Oba he was sheltered from the rest of the growing world. Usually he was in the smaller town that his parents lived in. Not the city his grandparents stayed at.

“Ah.. well, that’s because I’m not an Alkidike.” She looked at the boy and laughed. Not that she was making fun of him but that she would have been mistaken for one of her yellow skinned cousins. “I’m an Elaria. We’re cousins to the Alkidike.” She certainly didn’t think she would have been teaching someone about Aishan lineage today. "Although we're all considered to be Aishans just like you are considered an earthling."

Not an alk? Then what was she? He wondered for only a second more before the woman provided him with an answer. “Oh..” Well that was interesting. He thought he’d heard rumors on the docks about strange looking Aishans but he’d never really taken them seriously. He had little interest in the Aishans. “Cousins huh..” He repeated. “Must be rough.” The Alks had a reputation of being the big baddies up north.
