Hobbies:
Dancing: Since she was about six years old, Leslie has been taking dance classes at the local Destiny City Parks and Recreation. For the first few years, she took split classes with a group of other young kids her age that began with ballet and ended with tap but when she turned ten she started alternating seasons with jazz and tap. She's attending her cousin Carlee's Irish Step Dancing Recital and found it fascinating and may try it someday but has ambitions to try hip-hop first.
Reading: In her spare time, Leslie likes to pick a book and can get lost in it for hours. However, a typical day usually has her reading 3-4 chapters before bed. She has a reading level above most kids her age but her most worn ones are Anne of Green Gables, Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and Percy Jackson. While she would love to have a library of all the books she has read, Leslie is limited to what she can fit on the two bookshelves in her room. As such, only series she genuinely loves and will read again have a space reserved for it. Because of this, she can be regularly found at her school library and Destiny City Public Library at least once a week, sometimes twice.
Food Decorating: A hobby born from the inspiration at the bakery her cousin Arias owns (A & H Bakery). While she never really developed an interest in baking or cooking, Leslie has found enjoyment when it comes to decorating cookies, and cupcakes, and designing the crust of homemade sourdough bread. She has the full set of books by Karen Tack: Hello Cupcake, What's New, Cupcake?, Cake My Day!, and Cupcakes, Cookes & Pie, Ob, My! And although she is by no means a master ar this craft she's not bad for a 12-year-old and is happy to volunteer to bring in treats for classmate's birthdays.
Virtues:
Optimistic:Leslie has a natural habit of looking on the bright side, believing things will turn out okay, even when her friends might worry. If a school project seems impossible or her friends are feeling down, she’s the first to offer a positive spin by looking for the silver lining to keep everyone’s spirits high. Her sunny outlook helps her face challenges head-on, though it can sometimes make her seem a little naïve.
Empathetic: Leslie has a strong sense of empathy and is quick to notice when her friends are upset, often offering a comforting word or quiet support. If someone is struggling, she’ll go out of her way to make them feel better, even taking on extra work to help out. Her friends rely on her for this, though she sometimes carries their emotional weight on her own shoulders.
Responsible: She’s reliable and mature for her age, taking on tasks like helping her parents around the house or volunteering to lead a group project at school. Leslie takes pride in being a responsible and reliable friend, but it can sometimes make her feel pressured to be perfect. She often feels a need to prove that she can handle anything, even when it’s a lot for her to manage, after all, she's still just a pre-teen.
Flaws:
Difficulty Setting Boundaries: Leslie has a hard time saying “no,” often agreeing to help out even when she’s tired or busy. Whether a friend needs a favor or a teacher asks for volunteers, she jumps in without thinking. She is used to being called the responsible, dependable, or reliable friend and doesn’t want to disappoint anyone, but this often leaves her overextended and sometimes stressed out.
Oversensitivity: Leslie tends to take things to heart, so a simple joke or criticism can easily hurt her feelings. She tries not to show it, but small comments can linger, making her feel self-conscious or worried about how others see her. Her sensitivity makes her cautious and sometimes hesitant to speak up in front of others.
Reluctance to Ask for Help: Even when she’s struggling, Leslie often keeps it to herself, thinking she should be able to handle everything alone. She doesn’t want to burden others or seem like she’s not capable. As a result, she becomes overwhelmed but tries to push through on her own, even when her friends would gladly step in to help her out.
