The boys had come to him and Vallen after a shocking discovery. Isaris had looked Lyco over with his new look. Remarking how Lyco looked like Vallen when he was in his shaded scheme. He pressed a kiss to his son's forehead reassuring Lyco that all was well. After that was settled he blinked as Dep had picked that moment to flop in. Looking a bit...hurt? He spotted blood on the Janarim's front paw. "Dep..."
He then walked over to look over the limb. "Vallen, Dep actually got into a fight. This is a Radaku bite..." He looked at the beast. "Who did you----Vallen check Unduru!!!"
Holy moonlight did Dep try to dominate Unduru?!?

Vallen fairly leaped out the door looking for his black radaku who was standing all huffy and fluffed up in the middle of the yard his back arched, fairly glaring with his own red eyes straight into Dep's. "Yup, that didn't seem to go too well for Dep, definitely time to get him a female. Convenient that both you and I were also talking about this and the kids came to the same conclusion. Their kids were sharp. He was excited and it looked like it now needed to be done it was no longer simply a want.
"Pack for a journey kids your wish is our command, especially because I would not see our special familiars hurt in all of this nonsense."

Lura had been walking up with his brother. They had spoken with their parents. As they started to think about where to start. Lura jumped when Dep barged in wounded. "Unduru!!!" he stepped out. "Dude, that's not how you treat pack!!!"
He turned back to check on Dep, kneeling next to his Pops. "Pops...I got the bleeding. You get the bandages. Dep's coming with us..." he shot a glare to Unduru. "Not him."
He had thought to bring Unduru along to help gauge the personalities of the potential new pack.

"Unduru would not have done that unprovoked, Dep what did you do?" He eyed the janarim suspiciously. It made perfect sense that Lura would defend him as he was closest to Lura and Isaris. Lyco was a touch less biased and knew that Unduru liked Dep so Dep would have had to do something. "I think that Dep did try and dominate him perhaps, they are not near the pups so that woudln't be it, besides Dep would have more than a little bite if he went after Unduru's puppies." He looked beseechingly at his parents. "See we have to do something."

Isaris was a bit upset that Lyco went after Dep. Unduru had not a scratch on him, Dep was the wounded party. He tended to the front leg. Once it was wrapped properly and he saw the bleeding had slowed. He looked to Lyco. "Going back and forth won't help things, Dep is coming on the trip with us. that's final. Whoever started the fight, it ended with blood which is the big issue. We've never had a squabble end with blood. That's where I draw the line. You know Lyco the instant blood is drawn, we punish both sides. However, the side that caused the blood is harshly punished."
He made sure Dep could walk with them as he got the lead and everything else. He looked to Unduru as he led Dep out. Making sure to put his body between the pair of them. "Unduru, isolation pen. Now."
Isaris looked to his sons. "We have a training standard. I will not let up on that. Unduru knows the rules, you shed blood you get the pen. We weren't there when the fight started...Dep is getting humiliation. He doesn't like the lead. He's got a simple wounded paw...how do you think he feels?"
Dep was NOT happy. The grumpy look on his face was enough.

Even though Unduru was his, he deferred to Isaris's logic because in this case the male was right, Unduru could have discouraged the large janarim without drawing blood. It was unfortunate, but as no one had seen what had happened they couldn't so easily draw conclusions as Lyco had. This was a case of the boys being bonded to their respective father's beasties. "Aye, high time we got Dep a mate. Besides if he comes along he can choose better for himself than we could. Don't worry boys both critters will be okay with a bit of time and separation. Unduru let his emotions get away on him and swift correction should prevent it from happening again. Blood in defense of you two is one thing but blood in retribution for a bit of hassle is another thing entirely." Unduru was a radaku and therefor dangerous, so was the janarim, best that they not use their not inconsiderable weaponry against each other.
At a harsh look from Vallen, Unduru tucked his tail and went obediently to the isolation pen, he knew he had overstepped.

He sighed as he started to get his bag together for going to the town. "So the breeder is in the southern edge, of town."
He looked at his brother in warning. Tugging on his arm to pull him to his side. "Walk with me, bro." he urged. "You okay?"
He knew that Lyco was close with Unduru, his brother was always protecting the Radaku from their Pops when he misbehaved. He did baby Dep a little, but the Janarim didn't usually try to fight the others. If anything, he liked to mess up the house. That got Dep in timeout a lot...

He was irrationally irritated with what had just happened. He knew Unduru wouldn't have done that without provocation. But he had to remember too that Dep belonged to Papa and Lura and they would fight for him. What shocked him was how Dad didn't step in. He went with the flow, of course Dep did get put on a lead and Lyco could see that both animals regretted their actions. So much for a fun day critter shopping. Was it an ill omen to start out like that? He looked to the sky for guidance and saw not a cloud of heavenly storm advice. Sigh. He squinted at Papa but that was all he did. There was no point in arguing, Papa was prolly right. But in his heart he felt their had been some sort of injustice. He put Vallen between himself and Isaris and helped with preparations silently. His brother as always came to his rescue. "Yeah, I'll be fine. I think it just scared me is all."

The long haired male sighed softly as he led Dep into the town. He knew Lyco was upset with the Janarim, however since they had no witnesses he couldn't rightly justify lashing out. Unduru knows the rules. No Blood is a big one. As they walked in, he already saw it. A few mothers instantly gathered their younglings seeing the Oban beast, others flat out dragged their kids away. It was always the same when Dep walked with him. Dep had a reputation for the one time he drew blood of a would be thief. He glanced down to the beast.
Dep paid no one but his family any mind.

Vallen did not care what the plebian ants thought about Dep. He liked Dep and more importantly they both loved Isaris. He saw that Lyco was sulky but he thought with time and some TLC from his brother that Lyco would be fine. Besides the long walk would do them all some good and burn off the angst that the trip started with. All parties were whole and safe and all was good so the miasma of charged emotion would fade. Nothing better than beast shopping! He had to admit that he was incredibly invested in this project and was eager to see how Dep would react to seeing other Janarim for the first time. He had a sneaking suspicion the beast liked other males but maybe if the female came in janarim form. And if Dep did only like males then they could get him two companions and start the project anyway.

He kept his arm around his brother as they walked. Making sure Lyco was next to him. He glanced to Dep as they did walk, the beast was holding his head high. However, he disliked how everyone but the males who liked picking fights had stuck around in view. He huffed softly. "Ly...I know your upset...but I think we got to keep an eye on Pops. People wanna get Dep's hide for that one theif a while back...remember?"
He hoped they got to the beastiary soon. He really didn't want Dep to bleed any further.

"That bandit got what he deserved." He was starting to slowly feel better with the forward movement, but he was starting to notice what his brother had. "Dad..are we prepared for a fight?" He asked Vallen quietly as he got one too many mean stares. "It looks like these folk are riled up. Lura noticed too, I'm not imagining things." Not that he thought his Dad would think that he was but well. He was still a bit out of kilter from Papa's defensiveness over Dep. He was on the mend though, nothing like a common enemy to engender good sense after all. He grabbed for his tiny belt knift that he used mostly for eating and whittling twigs. It was not going to be much defense but as a prentice he wasn't trained with real weapons yet. Papa had his bow and Vallen his spear. Dep was not defenseless.

He looked around the pathway as they walked towards the furthest end from their home. He looked to Vallen. "We're giving your breeder friend a pen at the house. I don't like bringing Dep in here."
He glanced to a few of the nearby warriors. All just watching them. he sighed softly. This was going to be an issue, he just knew it.

He grasped his spear more tightly. "I see what you mean," he said to both Isaris and his son. Already his body was taught and ready for action. From the pointed stares he thought they would be getting it too. Suddenly out of the throng a bandit darted swift from the shadows. "Here we go!" Vallen whipped his cloak off and threw it at the man thwarting his attempt at Dep. But three others came from different directions. Vallen caught both of the boys and pulled them between him and Isaris. But the bandits were not going after them, they were targeting Dep himself, Vallen had his priorities though, he wished they had brough Unduru. He used the length of his spear to trip and hold one of the bandits at blade point, but there was little he could do about the others. The girl on the ground sneered at him and snarled something in Matorian, (she was a half breed), a language he didn't know but he knew a curse word when he heard it.

He yelped as the bandits came at them. He was yanked back into the protective aura of his parents. Though that was not his concern, seeing one going for Dep he used the Janarim's back to spring off and drop kick the bandit away. He felt Dep shift and roll him back between his parents. "Dep!!!" He called out as he saw the blade spark as it ran along the plates.
