Achird was slowly—very, very slowly—getting used to life on this planet. Earth. The place he'd only dreamed about for so long. It had been... disappointing, to say the least, to finally get here, clearly long after its heyday. Everything was just so... dirty. Eugh. He never thought he'd see the day he'd not be a fan of Earth, but then again, a short while ago he thought he'd never see another day again, period. But it wasn't really a short while ago, now, was it? It seemed like a short while ago for him. But a thousand years had passed while he was in a dead man's sleep. And now, here he was, on Earth, trying to find these beings that corrupted themselves with Chaos to fight the bad fight. Ugh. At least he felt a fellow Senshi nearby... Maybe he could find someone to walk with and make this less dreadfully boring. So he headed in their direction with a little hop in his step.

Daedalus often sought out allies, these days. He wanted to meet as many other Senshi and Knights as he could, get to know them, build allies for whatever came in the future. The more he saw the threat of the Negaverse, the more firmly he believed that it could only be combated together--and that meant knowing as many people as possible.
So, approaching a friendly aura had become a regular thing--it only made sense to actively seek people out. Certainly it was a better idea than simply hanging out and waiting.
but when he rounded a corner and got a good look at the other Senshi--well. Daedalus was not too proud to say that his expression dropped.
He knew that face. Those antlers. That irrepressably smug air of being. And it was not, in Daedalus's opinion, <******** fair.
"Really? Of all the people that could have possibly survived--you?"
Under most circumstances, he would not have been proud of such a pronouncement, but honestly--there were so many people that Daedalus would rather have seen still alive. But no, here in front of him--Achird. The arrogant p***k.

Normally, Achird was all for making new allies. Normally, he'd try to turn on the charm and attempt to smooth things over. But he and Daedalus had a long, long history of hating each other. Ugh. He stared balefully at those stupid ******** horns, the ridiculous over-sized goggles, and those dumbass thigh high boots. It just had to be this ******** guy, huh? There would be no getting along with him, Achird knew. So, he dropped all pretenses, scowling deeply at Daedalus, brow creased. "Really? That's how you choose to greet me, you uncultured swine?" he sneered. "'Oooh, look at that, can't believe you survived'—I thought that sort of thing was something you'd condemn me for saying, but here you are, saying it yourself, you little hypocrite."

"Uncultured swine?|" Daedalus barked out a derisive little laugh. "I see you haven't changed a bit."
It was uncharitable of him to think, bit there was something disappointing about looking Achird in the face and seeing that nothing in him had changed. He was the same arrogant, unrepentant ******** shithead that he had always been, the same person that Daedalus hated any interaction with, the same person that made his fingers twitch to curl into a fist and slam into his smug ******** face.
"You just bring out the absolute best in me, you gold-plated garbage can, what can I say," Daedalus mocked right back, crossing his arms. It might make him just that little bit less likely to start throwing punches.
Only so much, though.

"And why should I change?" Achird asked with a derisive snort. He didn't expect an answer to that question—or if he did, he knew he wouldn't even listen, anyway. All the words out of Daedalus' mouth had nothing of value for Achird. Ever since they'd met, they'd been at each other's throats. "And hey, at least I didn't crawl out of a literal garbage can and get declared senshi," he snarked back. "I actually have breeding and education to back my name."

Ah.
It was funny, how pure rage provided a certain level of clarity. How someone could whack just the right button, and send you so far over the edge of rage that you actually felt calm. Cool. Collected. Perfectly rational. Daedalus would not have said that his decision, in that moment, was clouded by rage--no, his decision was sharpened by it.
Certainly, part of Daedalus knew that it wasn't the wisest move. That alienating a potential ally wasn't the right thing to do. That generally speaking, he sohuld be trying to extend a hand and rebuild the bridge that had been burnt a thousand years ago, that maybe they both deserved a chance to get to know each other all over again. That maybe there was an understanding to be reached.
The decision to reach out was not the decision that Daedalus made.
Instead, he made the decision to drop his crossed arms, stride over, draw his fist back, and slam it into Achird's face.
"Shut. Your. Mouth."

Achird felt rather smug at first, just watching Daedalus. Hah! It was nice not to hear the other senshi's voice prattling on about his rather dumb idea of justice for once—just watching the guy stand there, stunned, made Achird preen. He grinned a smug little grin, tilting his chin up with pride for himself and his actions. Right up until the very second he got punched. His head flew backwards and he staggered a little, clutching a now definitely bleeding ******** you," he spat, glaring at Daedalus once he had recovered a little bit. "Me shut my mouth? I'm not the one who started the conversation with hostility, jackass. You just never know when to keep your own damn mouth shut."

"Oh look at that, the perfect little noble shithead does know how to curse like us miserable commoners!" Daedalus laughed, but it was a very sarcastic, deadpan sort of laugh. "And why in all of Cosmos's great starscape should I have ever treated you with anything more than the contempt you deserve? You're jsut like every other wealthy b*****d of breeding and education--a leech that sucks dry the people of your planet that do the real work so you can sit on your pretty a** and eat fancy snacks all day."
Daedalus shook his head. He wanted to punch Achird again, but it wouldn't accomplish anything.
"But you know what's so lovely about the day and age we find ourselves in now, Achird? Your breeding and refinement, my rough and tumble upbringing--they both don't mean anything anymore. We're on the same level, now. Welcome to the dirt with the rest of us, Your Grace."

Anger sent Achird's body shaking, but he held himself back. It wouldn't do to further the fight. He'd already fallen further than he wanted to—Daedalus did a very good job of bringing out the worst in Achird, and he hated it. "Whatever you say," he said haughtily. "I suppose if it helps you sleep at night to believe such vile things, go ahead—just don't spew it in my presence." And with that, he turned and started walking away, standing tall. None of this was his fault, after all.
