Daedalus knew that he ought to be more careful. That he was reduced in power, that he should not be challenging Negaverse Generals. But the thing was, he also knew that they were dangerous. If a Captain could ambush him and another Senshi, and need two of them to drive her off, twice--he could only imagine the kind of threat a General posed.

And while, on the whole, he was not exactly a tactician, even he knew the benefits of an ambush. So when he felt the General's aura, he decided that his best chance was to scout, sneak up, launch his amgic, and attack while his target was still reeling. A few good hits might chase him away and ensure that he didn't pose a threat to anyone else, at least for tonight.

A man in a dark uniform, wielding a bow--yes, that was definitely an officer.

"Progress Forward!"

Daedalus's magic wasn't always reliable. This time, though, it jumped right to hand.

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Progress Forward!
Daedalus speaks the name of his attack, and enemies within an 8 foot radius are suddenly overwhelmed by visions of progress of some kind—social, technological, any kind is possible. These visions are crammed into about 10 seconds, and when they fade, they leave the targets disoriented as they try to parse through what they just saw. The disorientation lingers for about 25 seconds, but can remain longer at player discretion. Daedalus can use this attack twice per battle.

Arsenolite loved being a General. Reveled in the power that simmered in the very essence of his being. He felt pretty damn unstoppable in this regard. He'd been able to start storing amounts of energy he'd definitely never have been able to achieve as a puny little Lieutenant. It felt so freakin' liberating, to be so powerful and take so much. He hoped he'd eventually catch the attention of Queen Laurelite. Earn himself something.

Though tonight, he didn't need to be thinking about accolades. He needed to keep handling energy for the Negaverse. Then, maybe, he could consider it.

Of course, something just had to disrupt his plans. He didn't catch the aura moving closer to him until the person that it signaled had erupted at him, casting their magic. Immediately, his head swarmed with buzzing visions of the future and he stumbled into a wall, shaking his head harshly to subdue the thoughts of flying cars and the ******** off," he bit out, not really looking in Daedalus' directions.

It was always a good start when his magic deigned to work. Daedalus had never thought that would be something he was grateful for--as a Senshi, magic was the core of his being--but having it fritz out at inopportune moments had taught him to be glad for the little things.

In this case, it meant that he had probably only a few fleeting moments. It meant that he had to act on the fly, which....well, fortunately for Daedalus, was something he was pretty good at.

"Not today, no," he said, grinning.

He launched himself forward, drawing back his fist and swinging. One quick hit to the face might well ensure that this General stayed too out of it to fight back, and while Daedalus wasn't exactly built to kill, he could at least do some damage that chased him away.

Arsenolite had just enough time to recover to dodge the punch, forcibly shoving the dizziness he'd felt from the visions away. He couldn't afford to sit there and care about the weird s**t he just saw. He needed to fight. This was already close quarters, so he couldn't draw his bow—but he could just straight up stab with an arrow, if necessary.

Though that would just be for fun. He grinned maniacally as he thrust his hand directly into Daedalus' chest.

"Got too close, didn't you?" he cooed, fingering the starseed. "I told you to ******** off, little boy."

This was the second time in recent weeks that Daedalus had experienced the cold chill of a hand on his starseed.

He was, he was now certain, not at all fond of the experience. Especially not when this particular Negaverse officer seemed determined to draw out the experience. At least the Captain had pulled it out and left him unconscious, all in one single moment.

This, though? This was awful. He felt dizzy, and sick, all at once. It was wrong, that the Negaverse even had this power, the ability to reach in and rip out a soul.

Still, he forced himself to smile.

"Pull it or don't, Chaos puppet. I don't need foreplay for murder."

It was a veneer, sure, but spouting off at the mouth at least made him feel a little better about the whole situation.

Arsenolite grinned. "If you say so." He went to pull it out... Then there came a sound that churned his gut.

Fang had felt the auras nearby. Not quite matched auras. Someone needed help. He roared as he fell from the nearby rooftop, calling out his attack as he descended. "Roaring Slash!"

The purple claws extended from his arms, became part of him. Their long reach ensured a good clawing down Arsenolite's back as he came to hit the ground, rending the flesh of the General. He roar-barked again and again as he kept clawing and clawing, until the ghostly claws faded.

Arsenolite hadn't been expecting such a violent attack. As his muscles were ripped at, he dropped the starseed and removed his hand from Daedalus' chest on instinct, whirling around to try to stop the attack, but it was too late. His back was definitely messed the ******** up, the burning making him hiss.

"This isn't over," he threatened, teleporting away. Damn it all!

Fang panted with exertion, flexing his fingers and looking over Daedalus with concern. "Friend okay?" he asked anxiously, clasping his hands together and staring at Daedalus very intensely.

Noir Songbird
Fang lets out the distinctive roar-bark of the Chrysocyon after calling his attack, and two ghostly paws extend from his arms and stay there, allowing him to swipe at any and all targets within range with his Chrysocyon claws for about twenty seconds. The scratches hurt when they hit, rending flesh and causing a small burning sensation. The damage all appears real and has the appearance and sensation of a real wound; the illusion of injury will last until his magic runs out, and forty five seconds after he activated his magic, the wounds will fade. At player discretion, the magic can tear through close, scratch armor, or cause lasting damage. This magic lasts for 45 seconds (20 seconds to attack, and targets will suffer effects for 45 seconds after he started his magic, not when they were hit by it), has one use, and can reach enemies within twenty feet.

Daedalus was lucky--he knew that for absolute certain. A moment longer and he would have had his starseed extracted for the second time, and he wasn't exactly sure if that got worse with each attempt.

Certainly it didn't feel good. He'd been reckless, and stupid, to challenge someone stronger than him--someone with weapons he could never match, even at his full power. But he wasn't alone. And Fang had managed to damage the General enough to send him fleeing.

"Fang!" He greeted the other Senshi gladly. "I'm fine, I'm fine. You got here just in time." He patted his chest. "Everything where it should be, all is well."

Fang let out a sigh of relief when Daedalus appeared just fine, and assured him that all was well. Good. Fang didn't want his friend to be hurt. Unable to help himself, he surged forward and snuggled into Daedalus, rubbing his face into Daedalus' shoulders, chest, and neck. He just... had to assure himself that Daedalus was okay. His friend was unhurt.

"Good," he said firmly, once the need for aggressive snuggles abated. "Fang not want friend to be hurt."
