Demeter, despite her words about feeling no ill effects from having her starseed handled, did feel quite tired after. She figured it was mostly the mental fatigue, though—the sudden adrenaline rush, followed by the wave of relief, would make anyone tired. She rubbed at her eyes and yawned, giving Daedalus a sheepish smile. "Sorry about that," she said apologetically. "I should've been paying better attention so I didn't get all... caught like a naughty dog or something in the first place and had to involve someone else to come to my rescue. I really appreciate it, though. What's your name? It's nice to meet you, even if it could've been under much better circumstances than nearly dying."

Poor girl. Daedalus couldn't believe that she was apologizing for being ambushed--that felt like such a silly thing to him.
"It's okay," he said, easily, "she actually got me not too long ago, and I needed to be rescued, too. I get the impression that one likes hit and run tactics." He shook his head, unhappily. "No shame in being ambushed, or in needing help, ever."
Not that he practiced what he preached in all things, but at least as a Senshi he was generally gracious about accepting backup in a fight. No reason to be silly about it. Sometimes you were outmatched or unlucky, and you needed another pair of hands and a different set of magic to make sure you got out okay.

Demeter blushed, looking at Daedalus in awe. He'd gotten caught by her, too? But how? He was such a powerful senshi... She supposed patrolling alone was even more dangerous than she really thought, if even someone with quite good offensive magic could have the drop put on them. "Thank you," she said quietly, reaching into her subspace and pulling out some of her recently baked goods. Valentine's was still a couple weeks away, but she'd begun stocking up on red-dyed and pink-dyed stuff anyway. "You like strawberry brownies?" she asked and gestured with the plate of brownies with pinkish-red swirls in them.

"Of course," Daedalus said, gently. Everyone needed time and experience, after all, and being a Super Senshi only meant so much in the grand scheme of things. He had no idea how quickly it was possible to be promoted, these days, if your starseed and world weren't...well, damaged.
Though Faust seemed to think there wasn't a problem with him, so....
Ah, it was ridiculous to speculate when he had nothing at all to speculate on except the suppositions of one very food-motivated Mauvian.
And besides, there was something much more immediately important in front of him. Namely, food on offer.
"I don't think I've ever tried those," Daedalus confessed, and he reached over to take one. "Desserts on Daedalus were quite different--my people are primary carnivores, so we didn't use a lot of fruit. But I've found that I like it on Earth." He took a bite, and made a delighted little noise. "Oh, that's delicious."
The first brownie disappeared rather quickly, and he started to reach for a second, and then paused, cheeks heating up. "Ah. Is it alright if I take another? Were you saving those for something in particular?"

The more Demeter hung around this guy, the more she liked him. He was just... so sweet, and clearly cared about his fellow White Moon senshi. He didn't want her to feel bad for needing rescue, and that was just... aww. He was right, though, they were all supposed to work together. Trying to do this independently was obviously a bad idea, and she just... needed to get that through her thick head. She didn't have to do it alone. She had friends here. A lot of new ones, but friends nonetheless. When he said he'd never tried strawberry brownies, her heart thumped a bit nervously—she knew her skills in baking were quite high, but still, being someone's first something or other came with a lot of pressure. She wanted him to like the brownies, okay? Especially since he was apparently new to fruits in general!! That was horrible news!! She relaxed when he said it was delicious, beaming happily. Good. Thank goodness. She giggled a little when he automatically reached for another from the plate before he stopped himself to ask properly. Aww, how cute. Now there was a compliment—someone thoughtlessly reaching for another of your treats because it was just that darned good? Heck yes!! "Nah, I make a lot of stuff like, all the time. If it's in my subspace as Demeter, you can trust that it's for giving out to my fellow super powered peeps," she explained as she held the plate a little closer to him. "Take as many as you want, Mr Daedalus."

She was so sweet. Honestly, Daedalus felt lucky every time he met someone new on Earth--so many of them were so kind, and so willing to help others. And, also, apparently to give of their vast talents.
Still, he winced just a little at the respectful term of address.
"Please, just Daedalus. No need for formalities. We're both Senshi, after all." He reached over and took another brownie, since apparently multiple were on offer. And then, when the second was finished, he took a third.
"It's good of you to carry these," Daedalus said. "Something nice after a fight helps settle the nerves. And I'd bet they do a lot to help you win people over." Certainly, if he hadn't already been won over by her kindness, he would have been by her baked goods. He hoped she didn't consider there to be any debts between them, but if she did? Daedalus figured they were more than repaid. After all, food shared between friends was something precious. Maybe it was different for her--the way he'd grown up had certainly set certain expectations--but either way, it was certainly a nice thing.

Demeter nodded, grinning wider. "Oh, definitely," she said with a small laugh. "Thank you. I'm glad you like them, too—always nice to be appreciated." She took one brownie off the plate for herself and rewrapped it, stowing them away once more. Ultimately, tonight hadn't been too bad. She hadn't lost her life, and she'd made a new friend who liked her baking. Pretty good, all in all.
